I think this class release is the best case hope for this game. It periodically adds revenue and maintains a player base without massive resources. Fixing D3 to what everyone would have hoped for is long gone. The expansion fixed a lot, but grifts, paragon, and one day character building killed this game.
Start with a clean slate and work on D4 with some solid foundation and concepts, but its going to be on the back drop with all the other titles running right now.
I like the concept, but I think that screws up gearing a lot unless the class has a way to convert stats- at which point it doesn't even matter what the main stat is. If you go wolf and gem all agi-gear, you have a harder time trying out new builds. Compare that to any other class who just has to swap a set and some abilities, not regem and re-enchant everything.
I agree with $15-20, that seems to be the most realistic assumption. I'd love it to be $5-10, but that isn't realistic considering all the art and design that goes into it, even a Heroes Skin costs more.
Doubt the Amazon. The whole point of amazons is that they are an all female groupe.
Ah shit, I didn't think about that. I don't even know how that could be circumvented; maybe it'll be the first female-only class. I'd be totally fine with that, even if I prefer to play as the male option in games with gender choice.
I love this announcement seeing the Necro make its way into D3. The Witchdoctor is a great addition to the Diablo universe, but it was never a true replacement for the bone minion army.
Now that we know this is coming as DLC, is it possible that this is just the beginning and not just some one-off addition?
With the current setup of classes, we have 2 Str, 2 Agi and 2 Int. I'm assuming the Necromancer will be a new Int class. Could this pave the way for the return of the Amazon (Agi) and shapeshifting Druid (Str)?
Oracle - The spiritual counterpart to Amazons. Ranged Bow and Sword+Shield users who bolster themselves with the power of Skovos' gods
Summoner - Eastern scions of the Viz'jerei mage clan who continued practicing dark summoning and control magic
Druid - Shapeshifter and Nature magic user, calling the spirits of the earth and life to fight evil.
I'd also like to see the new class incorporate a completely new culture, the way Witchdoctors brought in african voodoo or Monks bring in an eastern flavour. Heavy Greek influence for Oracles, Celtic influence for Druid or Persian influence for Summoners (summon Rakshasa, Efreeti, Djinni).
I have a high rolled 2H Wrath of Bone King (4k, 29% cold). Is it worth using over my 2600 azurewrath + totd/uhk combo? I feel like lacking offhand stats makes it difficult to choose.
Once you get a Boon of the Hoarder, gold becomes absolutely pointless. You get so much you don't know what to do with it. Friends who used to be perpetually poor now have a billion+ gold.
Also getting legendaries directly through a vendor without some sort of risk/reward system (ie crafting, gambling) brings us one step closer to the abysmal gameplay experience that the Auction Hall brought to us.
The DPS increase over any other type of gloves makes it worth using no doubt. I have two STR TnT's, one with Crit Chance and one with Crit Damage that I use on my DH (both found on Crus/Barb). Even lacking DEX, it enables me to achieve 35+ Rift trial keys with my current setup. There's no other glove replacement but another TnT with actual dex rolled on it.
yeah but it's a difference between 1600% and 1630%. You're better off gearing for an easier T6 run, instead of being less efficient and having slightly more MF. MF% doesn't affect Torment bonuses.
Yeah I'm not psyched about getting fewer Veiled Crystals. I was already running out trying to max enchant chests.
This was my very thought in light of this change. Kadala is prolly my main source of yellows and blues since I don't happen to pick up every drop in a Rift. Now my amount is lowered by 5X, making farming bloodstones a bit less worthwhile.
The legendary chance increase is nice. 500 Bloodshards gained me 3 legendaries. I still don't know if that's really an improvement since 5X more Kadala gambles would have gained me 3 legendaries regardless.

So much cross pollination with Warcraft, but I guess it's inevitable.

Are these all going to be season only? I really want one of them Corrupted Ashbringers without making a 3rd Crusader for it.
