posted a message on How to kill Ghom, Azmodan and Diablo Inferno as a Barbarian (easy and very cheap gear!)
I think some people are missing the point. This build is not intended for elites or farming in general. It's just for the bosses, to either get you the achievements or get you further through Inferno.

There's no point in getting further through inferno if you can't kill the elites there.

A 3 mil weapon is cheap gear? o.O

Pretty much what Zakarumite said. I'd heard Ghom gave people trouble but I figured out a way past it on my crappy barb. Even Azmodan was a complete pushover with a mere 1200 LoH, 750 res and 11k armor.

These "boss kill" strats are fairly worthless except to people struggling to get past that boss to the next act. If you are struggling to kill a boss, champion packs are going to walk all over your face and you probably shouldn't be moving to the next act anyway.

I know for sure it doesn't much matter that I got past Ghom and Azmodan because white mobs in A4 crush my soul.

Whats "mere" about those stats? I finished act 4 with that... Elites and all. I agree though, boss kills are useless when you want to show that a build works.

Your resist is low for a sword and board build in act 2. You must be getting your ass handed to you by those bugs that spit the little bugs. That'd be my suggestion, unfortunately i'm not doing inferno yet so i can't give you specific numbers.

You won't. You're going to die, a lot, and you're going to have a horrible character for quite a while. You're not going to hit 60 and finish the game on Inferno. You're going to be smashing your face against Act 1 Inferno for weeks. Perfecting your build before then will not matter.

In my own personal opinion, it's Diablo. If you can't find a workable build without having your own perfect choices being handed to you on a silver platter at the start of the game, good luck in Inferno. Actually, good luck in Nightmare. This game is hard.

Over and over, this is something they have restated, that Diablo 3 will be brutal. That you will die plenty, and that demons will be feeding on your virgin nerd tears for months to come.

I cannot tell you how happy I am about this! A game without serious challenges is a boring game.

However, I am really concerned about something specific: the dreaded "casual gamer community". It's big, and when they are displeased, they come in numbers. A good example would be how easy WoW has become under the pressure of this community during WoTLK.

I am literally afraid for Diablo 3 that, because it will be a hard game, same thing will happen to it, and Blizzard will yet again, succumb to the will of the casual player masses, thus making the game easy.

Of course easy, is a relative term, what's easy for you might be very difficult for me, and vice versa. However, when everyone agrees that the game is hard - then in my opinion, is when the game will be great.

I wish Diablo 3 stays like this for years to come, feeding on the tears of the unsuspecting.

posted a message on Nvidia gtx680 -- When will it become available?
    http://www.tomshardw...Index,2673.html

Nvidia GTX 560 SLI gets around 200. What are you planing to do with your system? Why do you need SLI?

Here's my system, and I'm very pleased with it, will run D3 on max settings with no issues:

OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 2.6.1.7601 (Service Pack 1)
    CPU TYPE: Intel® Core™ i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz
    CPU SPEED: 3.46 GHz
    SYSTEM MEMORY: 7.98 GB
VIDEO CARD MODEL: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570
    VIDEO CARD MEMORY: 3.97 GB
    DESKTOP RESOLUTION: 1920x1080
    HARD DISK SIZE: 1000 GB
The motherboard is Asus Sabertooth, and the HDD's are 2 500 GB on raid zero(edited out the value beta profile settings gives which was wrong). Runs smoothly every game out there on max settings.

    Another good benchmark site:

Sure it can be edited out, but the best thing would be if people didn't do it, so the moderators didn't have to waste their time on doing it ;)

Yeah, if only that would be the case. Sadly we have people like the poster above me...

TLDR: OP can't read forum rules, gets upset and want some support here. There there.

I had a whole paragraph explaining why what you write is utter non-sense. However, you're just not worth it.

Anyone that is willing to add to the conversation feel free to post. Others, will get the same treatment as this one.

Yeah, I won't reply in a serious manner to someone that simply ignores to 90% of my post... and then calls me small minded lol (: I also somehow can't really take you seriously if you refer to yourself as "we". The CM thing has been addressed, as I've said so in my previous posts. And you're making exactly the same point as the person I quoted, so I guess you can simply re-read my post and consider it a reply to yours.

However, that one got locked up because the title of the thread was in caps....
That is the answer right there. All forums have some form of rules and one of them is no posting a thread name in all caps. If they stop enforcing the rules, then there will be anarchy. You could say that they could just turn it to lower case. But then they would get shit for locking negative threads instead of fixing the title.

Negative threads should be locked up because they are negative, that rule is dumb to begin with, because as you said, caps in title can always be edited out.

That's what I mean by balance. Let's face it, there is no such thing as a rule that doesn't have an exception. Especially not such general rules like "do not use caps in title". The balance comes when they spot what the exception is, and do the adjustments instead of just going blindly by the rules. The community wouldn't submerge into anarchy, it would actually gain from it.

And for the record, there are already people complaining about pretty much everything on the face of the earth, so I highly doubt they are doing this small headed rules enforcement to avoid having to deal with people complaining. It seems to me that they are just small minded people, doing a poor job when it comes to the development of the community.

Maybe that's why on these forums for example, the community is so much nicer, because the managers actually have that perspective, and try to nourish the community instead of blindly applying the rules. This forum has balance (:

Well usually the blues on the official forums are rather cool headed, reply in a nice manner, which didn't fit in my mind with the kind of reactions that the forum managers have.

I apologize if I'm being confusing, I did not mean to. My original post was based on the assumption that CM's (the blues) were the only ones doing the forum managing, which was incorrect.

What I mean by the fact that, in my opinion, the official forums need more balance, is that you have threads like these:

    http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/3553606835

which are actually good for the community. They are positive, meant to lift up the spirits of the forum readers, and a nice change in general, from the negative posts that you usually see.

However, that one got locked up because the title of the thread was in caps....

This seems like the work of a very small minded person, that simply follows the rules like a robot, without thinking. Also seems like an over-reaction to an otherwise good thing. CM's usually try and nourish positive views, and feed the community with the good spirits it needs.

Forum managers however, seem to be doing their job only every now and then, and when they happen to actually do it, they make a poor job of it. That being a perfect example. I guess they are just people of "lower quality" that aren't really interested in such things as the development of the community...

So different people are doing the forum moderating?

    They are not the blues?

That would explain this even more...

Is it just me, or do the CM's have no idea what they're doing? I mean, they are either nonexistent, or they go overboard and over-react when they eventually decide to visit the forums.

Maybe if they would do their job on daily basis they wouldn't be so bitter about it.

I'm just saying, those forums need some balance.

EDIT: I'm talking about forum managers, not CM's as it will be clarified further in this post. My mistake.

posted a message on Beta Member - No characters were found
So I wanted to go to the US forums (being an EU player) and post some feedback on the beta.

I couldn't do so, however, due to the fact that the system said I have no characters that can post there.

I already posted a few threads on the US forums, without any issues, using the beta characters, prior to patch 15.

Any one else has this problem, or even better, knows how to solve it?

P.S. This goes without saying, but I already have 3 characters at level 10, in beta...
