posted a message on Anybody died in normal mode?
I'm not sure how this happened, but 3 (maybe 2) Mallet Lords appeared out of nowhere right on top of me. I'm not sure if they can be summoned or can appear out of a ground portal animation type thingy (if that makes sense), but they did appear out of nowhere. I don't think it was lag but you never know.

Anyway, since they popped right onto my head, it only looked like 1 Mallet Lord. I figure I can tank him but then I see my health drop to half and then to 0 really fast. Besides that, I never came close to dying elsewhere in Normal.

Hell is only supposed to have 3. Normal 1, nightmare 2, hell 3, inferno 4.

    Yeah.

And "gg"? If Hell had 4 then Inferno would have 5.

Have you dealt with Vampiric Desecrators, Arcane Jailers, and the like? 4 is fine. The game is kicking peoples asses even though people are crying that it's too easy because 0.005% of players that didn't sleep beat Inferno (which is still only part of the game, the rest is farming and enjoying the challenge, which don't get them wrong, it's still challenging even though they beat it).

I have heard of others claiming to see 4 affixes in Hell once in a blue moon. I think they just misread the affixes or something or there could possibly be a tiny chance of it happening legitimately.

I use Bola Shot because I feel like its vital to have decent single target damage especially on elites/champions/bosses. I tend to play in larger groups (3-4) and so, I don't feel like I need a lot of AoE from abilities such as grenades.

Have you considered or played around with Devouring Arrow then? The AE can be decent when you get 2-3 Piercings and it has really amazing single target DPS. I'm going mostly off of all the theorycrafting threads I have read on DH's and Hungering Arrow.

If you mostly play in groups, you should consider switching out Vault then also IMO. Assuming you have melee in the group, monsters will often be on them. Even if you ever needed to get away, your Smoke Screen would be enough. If you are set on keeping Vault though in a full group setting, maybe think about using a DPS Rune on it since I don't feel one would need to Vault twice in a row very often with other people in the group. Just my opinion based on what I've seen.

posted a message on Is anyone using alot of Mf Nm+ ?
Most of my gear that has good DPS/Survivability stats + MF I found on the AH. The search function makes it really easy especially with being able to search by price too.

So giving it a search very often helps. Nothing pops up? Try again soon.

The most I've found myself is a few Primary Stat + MF shoulders and wrists.

If I put on my "pure" DPS/Survivabilty stuff my DPS almost doubles, but it doesn't make much of a difference I find when it comes to difficulty. That will probably change in Hell unless the MF gear has really great stats.

How do you socket a weapon with lifesteal.....?
You don't. Amethyst gems in a weapon give +X life on hit. Like right now my mainhand has a flawless square amethyst, which gives +65 health on hit.

Can you honestly tell me that's worth it more than the same level gem of a Ruby (which gives straight up damage)? Also, I'm curious about HOW fast you attack, because obviously the faster the more valuable the Amethyst gem becomes in a weapon. I'm only at approx. 2 attacks per second now.

It's worth it if you're playing tank style in a party doing Inferno. Depending on other things, it may be worth it solo also if you find yourself losing tons of health.

I have a very specific question on this subject though for anyone that may know...

Does each hit on Way of the Hundred fists proc "life on hit"? I'm talking about the 7 "mini-hits" of the 2nd attack of the combo. I'm finding it hard to test well. My assumption is "yes", because if those "mini-hits" couldn't do stuff like that, then it's nothing but a gimick, but I believe it's there for cool things like this (especially with the Rune that makes it 10 mini hits instead of 7).

Maybe we thought by now Blizzard figured out how many people play at launch, etc...

You REALLY think a company their size with SO much to lose didn't "figure out" how many people play...REALLY??!!?!

Of COURSE they know how many people play. They have statistics up the yazoo.

You all severely underestimate what so many people logging in to the same place can do. There is not much you can do to "be ready" for it.

posted a message on Fun.. But it doesn't feel like Diablo.
    Quote from pgammo619

So far, Diablo 3 has been pretty fun for a basic RPG game, but it does not compare to Diablo 2 in its glory years.

    It was definitely over-hyped.

Blows D2 out of the water.

Actually, out of universe, not even in the same league.

    Etc....

    Quote from ShermenZ
Is that correct? and if so, may I sell it? And who would ever buy it?

A friend that isn't getting the CE.

Or you can sell it to someone for slightly cheaper than Blizzard does.

I heard you have to call Blizzard to make this happen though. You have to call them and tell them you are upgrading to CE and then they can take your digital key off and let you "gift" it to someone. A friend read this somewhere.

Make sure you're using the newest installer. You may get errors using an older installer.

They put new ones up recently, so if you had an installer sitting around prior to May 12th, you need the new one. I realize this is Diablofans and most probably read about this, but hopefully it may fix a thing or 2 for a few people.

posted a message on 99% invincible Mage need your test here!
The idea is interesting, I'll give it that. It's like people trying to figure out how to maximize Barb Wrath of the Berserker - Thrive on Chaos uptime or the Barb passive Relentless. As soon as people see those types of things they try to see how far they can push them.

I will say this wizard one definitely is under the radar as far as that type of skill exploiting goes, nice find. I'm wondering where you saw a naked 60 will have 1500HP and how accurate that is.

I also believe it will be near impossible to avoid VIT on gear, especially if the base HP really is that low. That means they designed health pools to be like 90% gear based.

posted a message on Viability of a shield using Monk?
I think information on the hit table of Diablo would be nice to know when thinking about Block and stuff.

For instance, can you Block and Dodge 1 attack? If not, then Block would be "pushing" Dodge "off" the hit table, no? It would be a "waste" to Block something instead of Dodging it, but it would be better to Block something instead of NOT Dodging it. And if you were to Dodge an attack that would have otherwise been Blocked, it's fine.

So, I guess I want to know if Diablo uses multiple rolls for some things or if it's a single roll and if it comes up Block, it doesn't check for anything else. Even if it is a single roll, it's possible that Dodge is given priority somehow.
