It would be more like .05+ .0375 = .0875 Though you chose a very high drop rate.

It would be more like .0000012 would go to .00000495
doubling the rate would be like .0000024 would go to .00000615

What this means to show you is that the rate is doubled if you have 0 magic find, but the more magic find you have the less it is "Doubled" since everyone runs around with atleast 75% mf these days due to NEPH buffs, you wont see a specific double the amount of set/leg in the game now.

Your wrong MF multiplies your drop rate then add it to the base value for the total, it doesn't straight add its value as it would require the server to check what decimal to use and that's not efficient.
375MF equals to 3.75 times the chances. So if a item has a 0.0012% base chance to drop, 375MF makes it 0.0045%+0.0012%=0.0057%
Doubling the base value to 0.0024% with 375MF is now 0.009%+0.0024%=0.0114%, effectively doubling it no matter what MF you have.

    Magic find works as followed.

If a monster has a 1% chance to drop a legendary. And you have 200% MF, you now have a 3% for that monster to drop a legendary.

If they double that monsters drop rate to 2%, and you have 200% MF, you now have a 4% chance for that monster to drop a legendary.

Its not going to exactly double the amount of Legendaries are found.

So if a legendary has a 0.05% chance to drop, 375 MF gives you a 3.8% chance to get a legendary???

This is a good thing, but it won't fix the problem. What needs to be done is making sure ilvl 60-1-2-3 always roll within the top 4-5 ranks. RNG is good, but [way] too much variables make this game annoyingly grindy and unrewarding.

The auction house is outside the game, by factoring the auction house in the odds of getting inferno quality loot by design the game leads player outside the game, to the AH yes, but more importantly to leave the game, the absolute most outside.

In essence players need to progress across the gear curve, even if it means small upgrades, but they have to move. With the way things are right now, everything that would be within inferno stat budget are slim and a drop around the median has as less chance to drop as a legendary. When an ilvl63 can roll an affix rank with less than 100 strength, the odds of getting 100 are significantly reduced and 100 isn't even close to BiS, it's not even after the median.

The amount of ranks available to inferno drops (ilvl60+) needs to be tightened, it's that or "cheating" the game by setting rules, per example forcing items to have 1 main attribute affix, plus 1 offensive affix, plus 1 defensive affix and so on, like they did with champions affixes, but that is a lazy design.

Double the drops or not, the way loot is generated remain broken. Doubling the rate is meant to avoid the problem by having players hunt and gear with legendary/set item that have most of their affixes and stat budget predetermined in advance, completely short-circuiting the randomness essential to the genre.

This won't work for long, it can only push the inevitable irrelevancy of Diablo 3 in a year.

Blizzard needs to replace Jay Wilson as the lead designer of Diablo 3, I'd personally fire him.

What's the use of 300k dps when a single mortar or jailer/consecrate will one shot you, get 50-60k health and clear faster than handicapping you with a tank. Also 1400+ res on an heavily armored character is overkill, do you want to play that much on cruise control? Sure you want to make up all the money you spent on RMAH back as soon as possible before offer increase so much value drop close to zero, but you have a couple of months before that happens.

its not "poison damage increased" but "adds 8% to poison damage" which is completely different

blizzard even explained in a blue post... u take your weapon damage and all damage increasing affixes u have on your gear (mojo, rings amulet etc.) and then add another 8% poison damage into calculation of your general DPS

It's not "add 7-8% poison damage", it's "add 7-8% TO poison damage".

    @OP
It will increase the slime radiate damage, as far as the slime's "bite" you'll have to test it yourself, but it's probably not even 1% of your total dps to begin with. It should also increase any +poison damage you might have on your weapon by 7-8%.

posted a message on World First Paragon Level 100
This is like world first level 60, not a feat. It's grinding challenge-less content over and over. Alkaizer is free to win a MLG or EVO championship and I'll give him props. My clearing of all Super Meat Boy dark worlds is more impressive because many people will never be able to achieve it no matter what, while anyone can grind paragon 100, from the casual to the hardcore.

posted a message on Gem Calculation
You have 28.5% chance to crit
2 gem with 10% more crit dmg is 20% more dmg from that 28.5% crit, so your dps would increase by 28.5x0.2=5.7%
40716.5x1.057=43037 would be your new dps

posted a message on How much is needed minimum to spec a WD to farm act 3?
Since 1.0.4 your guarg and dogs survives, all you need is 100-150k gold. 10-20k per slot can get you around 40k hp, 25k dps and 400 res, which is a good basis to do it without being too difficult, personally those were my stats when I cleared act4 for the first time, it should be good for atc3.

    340% MF, paragon level 25

340 mf? the cap is 300.

300 is the cap from gear+paragon, NV is added after. The highest you can get is 375.

I don't care what Wilson says, Brevik is right. I like 1.0.4, but playing it again makes me nauseating at the immaturity and non-sense of the characters and story. Diablo 3 is childish and full of miss, I wish Wilson was back were he belongs, being told by grownups to code and stfu.

posted a message on Finally. RMAH will require authenticator, basically.
As long as we don't need one to sell on the RMAH. I personally doesn't like the idea of having to buy and wear a helmet because a minority of idiots fall off their bike. The mandatory authenticator would have been avoided if blizzard had not setup paypal to be a preauthorized payment subscription, it make transfers faster and easier, but it remove one layer of security of having to enter your paypal password.

Anyway, that won't change the fact that compromised account will have their items and gold sold on the RMAH. Having your account hacked and paypal compromised by your own fault is one thing, but blizzard auctioning "stolen goods" is entirely another.

That's an internet issue. I haven't had a disconnect at all today.
I know thats what it is but what im saying is this game would be 10000x better if SINGLE player didn't require CONSTANT internet connection...wouldn't be bad if they like had to connect when logging in so they know it isnt a pirated game or something and when going on multiplayer it can always be on but let single player be like it is in every other game

You knew it when you bought the damn thing, it's on the box. If you didn't knew, educate yourself next time. At first we were all mad at Blizzard for good reason, but now the server are up and stable consistently, YOUR internet is the problem.

posted a message on Fun.. But it doesn't feel like Diablo.
    @exeeter702

Lower the game gamma slightly. Lower your monitor brightness and color. Play without a follower. Turn off the scrolling combat text. Don't use the zoom. Get further than the cathedral you'll find pitch black dungeon. And stop comparing Diablo to World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft is a Diablo mmo game set in the Warcraft universe. I agree with you some of the musical score is generic, but that is does not represent the whole of it. This is a game, the GAMEplay is primordial, and on that Diablo 3 is ten times better than 2, hundred fold better than 1.
