So I was looking at the new blacksmith page and I noticed that you can make items that increase spirit regeneration. But how does this work? My understanding is that spirit doesn't regenerate, we hit mobs and it builds up. So would the increased spirit regeneration attribute mean that we generate more spirit with each hit?
I r confuse.
btw sorry we kind of hijacked your topic but I do hope you got the answers you were looking for =]
Exactly! It would actually go good with a build I put together because it is all about
burst damage (which would drain my 200 spirit to almost 0) so having 3 spirit/sec
would be a great deal of help plus my generator.
Just thinking outside the box but what if you added transcendence into that build so your so your spirit spending can cover some defence and heal you.
I actually thought about that. Which is why I have lots of damage reduction.
Only thing is I spend my spirit before (most likely) I need any healing so that
is why I threw in the heal.
In one sense :P. Now I'm confused as to why they would put this in the game!
It would give a monk more spirit. Its such a low number because its so early in the game. in later gameplay i can see people getting like 3 spirit a second. It dose not seem like that much but over time and the fact that someone could be using combos with it means a TUN of spirit

The first recipe for the blacksmith is the apprentice glass star. One of its properties states "increases spirit regeneration by 0.17 per second (monk only)".
I use the big hitters to try and kill as much as I can right from the start
and also have damage reducers to keep me safe and be able to pick off
the rest. Some spirit regeneration to keep me going and ONE mantra =]
what do you think of this? I'm going for something unique.
Sweeping Winds is only good if you can keep it at max stacks. to get the winds going after the buffs faded is where you will be weak. Its damage may be high but if you cant keep the winds going your in a real bind. The problem with 2 mantras is that your skill slots could be used better. since you cant have 2 mantras up at one time you would be better off to keep the effect of one and use a different skill for the other. for example you could keep mantra of retribution and replace mantra of healing with breath of heaven. this way you have a heal you can use wale keeping the reflect with retribution.
I also did think about putting in Crippling wave over sweeping.
And I see the argument about using the heal or something but
that uses spirit which I would like to keep and the spirit generation is nice
i find using 2 mantras specially the one the OP picked is viable, so you can use it between fights for the spirit and health regeneration or during a fight for the free 400HP for 3 secs every 15 secs then back to retribution.
Thank you for thinking outside the box with me haha =]
The problem with 2 or more Mantras is that your skillslots are so limited... so taking a 2nd Mantra for situations that COULD happen IMHO is a wasted Skillslot.
And I took that into consideration but I still think I would have
an efficient amount of damage to compensate for the extra mantra.
That doesn't mean I can't have two part of my skill set..
For all the people who think it is dumb to have more than one mantra
is really thinking inside the box.. not every situation will be the same and
having more options helps. =D
Well if the fight does last longer I intend on using LD as much as possible.
Also for longer fights that means my vortex from sweeping wind will be even
more helpful.

It is regeneration and isn't just tacked on to our
spirit generators.
Example 1: Mystic
Example 2: Blacksmith
Notice how it says per second! This is why it is such a low amount also.

Not add to what we generate from attacks.
Could be wrong but that is how I took it.
