This is a video game. I can't stress that enough.

The schadenfreude in this thread is ridiculous. Vindictive comments from people condemning the people who used this exploit as if they had been personally victimised because of this. These people really need to reconsider their life position.

This is a video game. There are no tangible or monetary prizes for getting to high rankings.

I imagine the majority of people reveling with joy because of this weren't even in the top 1000. This ban, has no affect on your position on the ladder. The ladder is a made up novelty ranking system to stroke your epeen. If you care about these ranking that much - once again I seriously recommended you take a step back and reconsider your life.

    This is a video game.

The fact is that people who cheat for personal gain in video games are most likely the ones that cheat in other areas of their lives, like lying on their resume, doping in sports etc. Schadenfreude exists for a reason, it is the pleasure honest people take from seeing dishonest people suffer, they may succeed in areas we wish we could, but we won't do it because we want to do it with our integrity intact. Don't pretend that this is limited to a video game, cheaters succeed everywhere in life and get away with it for the most part. Politics is totally fucked because of cheaters/exploiters.
I don't care about leaderboards, but allowing rampant cheating ruins games and there are games I no longer play for that reason, so fuck those people.

I got a DC about 20 minutes ago and still connect now. I can't even get on the forums. Is it down for anyone else? My HC char is probably dead too.

posted a message on Hardcore Crusader build advice
Hi all, just looking for a bit of critique on my current build/gear. I got a pretty nice amulet last night, and recently changed my belt to Angel Hair Braid from Vigilance for a pretty big boost in survivability and DPS. It dropped my CDR from 56.7 to 54.5, but the 1-2 seconds I'm out of Akarat is more than made up for.

I know my sword is terrible, I've been trying to role a new one for a long time now, but so far, no luck.

Currently I'm rolling T4 with ease, I think a better sword would take me to the next level. I'm trying to get my mirinae gem? (the holy bolt one) to 25 before socketing an accessory.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't understand how people can accept that a 500% increase in pay for an item with only a 33% chance increase to get a legendary is even remotely balanced.

Also just to clarify 500 shards now doesn't give you a 33% increased chance for a legendary compared to 500 shards pre-patch. Each ROLL on an item you purchase has a 33% increased chance. Rolls now cost 5x more, you have to factor that in when calculating total value from your shards to realize your chances to actually get a legendary when comparing the same amount of shards you spent pre-patch to post-patch is actually much much less.

What happens if you are new(er) and don't have a character that is geared enough to farm high torment levels... it's will be even longer to reach that level of play. Overall I have to say I'm pretty disappointed and upset that I feel like I can no longer casually play Diablo 3 and I'm being punished for casually playing it before this patch, with pre-knowledge of this change I would have spent more time trying to gear at least 1 of my characters up to be able to farm shards faster. As it stands now I'll probably look for casual play in another RPG altogether.

I can't help but feel the cancellation of their future cash cow has something to do with suddenly extending the grind in their pre-existing games.

    Just my opinion.
    Do you even math?

This exploit did affect me quite a bit. Was doing some random t6 split farms yesterday and saw a monk at level 474 while I was 386. He literally didnt even have his sunwuku set completed yet and was basically running around in gear I had when I was paragon 100. When I checked his time played it was 1/3th of the time I spend on my character.
There is no way he didnt exploit, and its annoying the hell out of me that they're just running around enjoying the game while nothing gets done.
How in the fuck-hell are you people even at p100 yet?

386 is quite a bit for such a very short time, wowzers. I've been playing what I consider to be quite a bit in non-season, and I'm only 417. You got about as far as I have in a matter of days. It took me many months to do that.

No wonder so many of you are mad, probably fucking cabin fever.
Seriously though, how are people getting to almost 400 paragon in such a short time and still hating on exploiters? I'm at 340 non-season and can split farm T6, but I'm getting around 8 paragon levels a day playing pretty efficiently for around 3 hours. There should be repercussions for cheaters, but once you start cheating it devalues the entire experience for me.

It's like in GTA when you start adding ammo and then spawning cars and eventually you can't enjoy the real game because why would you work for something when you can get instant gratification. The point that I start cheating is the time when I'm squeezing the last drops of fun from a game, so I pity people that are at that point, I'm loving earning every item and exp point. It's the culture of instant me-me-me gratification we have today, it's only beneficial on face value and is rotten at the core.

hey i think your wiz is mainly fine. of course there are upgrades you can make, but basically you cant do that much anymore, except get annamulet without elemental damage with a socket.

things aside iam also on lower 30s rift (i have yet to complete a 35 rift in time) but i think its mostly due to luck..

if i get a good grift with high densitiy its a joke to fill the bar in half the time, e ven on 35.. but i never got these on 35.. (only tried twice though)

the one thing you really need to proceed further is a furnace from my point of view.

which some people will never see.
Thanks for the input. Furnace does seem like a great option, but I didn't even know it existed until recently. Currently I don't have another piece of firebirds, so it wouldn't be all that useful yet. It's like Woh hunting all over again.

I dropped a Harringtons a few days ago after months of searching, with a nice Dex roll........ Not useful for grifts anyway but would have been nice match with furnace and firebirds helm, might enchant it later.

    Can you link your gear.

Looking for a bit of advice on gearing. I'm sitting around low 30's in grifts, but I know I could get a boost. I'm thinking my rings are horrible, been unable to get a int/fire SOJ although I have many in my stash. Also, my RORG is pretty bad, with the new drop rates, I feel I should probably look into getting a better rolled one.

everyone who says its not a big deal are cusuals who dont play a lot, anyone who worked hard for theyre paagons and actually is competing gets the back end of the stick not the casuals. so please if your not even close to being on the leaderboard you have no right to say that its not a big deal. and they should be banned to send a message, them not banning them is saying that its okay to exploit in a competitive game, which it should be with the leaderboards. i understant it doesnt effect the casuals, but that doesnt mean it doesnt affect a lot of us. how would you feel if you stayed up 36 hours the firt day of release then slept 6 hours everyday since and played all the time and then have someone exploit and pull ahead of you on paragon and potentially in the leaderboards in the near future. not fun.

the exploiters knew what they were doing was wrong, they knew it was cheating, and it even made a lot of people quit and even made alot of people quit the game for good. if exploits like this keep happening and the exploiters keep getting away with this i cant see this game making another successful expansion let alone have seasons be sucessful. everyone will take it as a joke. which it kind of is right now, gaining 300 levels in 1 day. that sure sounds like competition to me.
If I'd stayed up 36 hours and then slept 6 hours a day, honestly, I would feel a deep sense of shame and probably start trying to find a job. Other than that, I agree with your point.

Just to add, I just got out of a hardcore season game where 2 of my comrades perished. I survived with maybe 3% life. Great stuff, not really season dependant, but nailbiting none the less. Now excuse me while I go and change my underwear..

For me seasons were the perfect opportunity to start a new class (I only have a witch doctor on live). I started fresh with a new monk with 3 friends who also rerolled a class they didnt play before and we're having a great time. Also being able to rape t6 and complete 30+ greater rifts after 3 days of playing feels great :D I'm having a lot of fun, thats for sure!
I already had 70's in each class, I guess that killed a lot of potential fun for me. I'm sure this applies to some of the other players who have done the same. But, it was an oportunity to start hardcore again after my 60 DH died in pre ROS. I couldn't have stomached a softcore player though.

Well, I think they allready made alot of good changes, and seasons revived the game for me :)

memorable moments, a few so far, but on the other side, we are also jus 4 days into the season :)

The same subject u bring up, was a subject i brought up 2-3 months ago, about avg joe being burned out from seasons really fast, but it diddnt seem a big a problem as i made it out to be in the beginning, however its still sad to see your feeling like this allready.

I cant really say what would make it better for you or me, cause i really enjoy seasons as mentioned before, but i hope you "refind" the fun in d3 again :)
I really like standard 2.1, and find it lots of fun. I enjoy the game, Diablo has been my go to game since Diablo 1 and I have played each permutation periodically since release. I would class myself as a passionate enthusiast with little interest in leaderboards so I guess I'm not really the target consumer of ladders, it surved its purpose well for me to level a hardcore character so it was fun, I just can't see the long term appeal.

Honestly it doesn't bother me that much, I would just have liked to see a bit more depth. There were no interesting threads to read, so I decided to make one.
