posted a message on Question on crafting plans.
If you are like me then recently you will have received tons of plans. Are these classed as a legendary drop? If so then once you acquire all the plans will you see your leg gear drop rate increase, as you can't get two of the same plan so there will be no more drops?

No man,do what I did. I was just about to finish and decided I'd do one last set of bounties, and BOOM. I got the ring. So, the answer is that you have to do one more bounty run than what you set out to do.

posted a message on Would you like to be able to turn smart loot off?
After getting my Wiz to the point where I have very good items all around, the incentive to keep grinding just to get the same item with a marginally better role is losing its appeal, especially when their is no chance to benefit my alts. I want to gear my barb, but he's so awful and slow that it's a chore rather than fun and the fact that I can facerole high torments with my wiz means that I usually get frustrated with the barb and go back to farming with my wiz.

I would support some element of change in the smart loot system. An on/off switch seems a little too immersion killing, I like the fact that Diablo is relatively simple and you don't have to 'set it up' like some mod tool in fallout. But, just simply skewing it so it's a reasonable mix i.e. 80% smart/20% none-smart or 70/30 would be acceptable by most, I feel.

I feel another issue for me at least is the fact that I have invested a ridiculous amount of gold and time, enchanting and crafting for my wiz to push him down a certain build path with high elemental damage. I don't necessarily want to effectively start that journey again from scratch, when I already have a powerful toon that I should be able to use to speed up the process somewhat.

TLDR: There should be some synergy. Having a powerful main should be able to benefit your alts.

posted a message on Bring back TRADE, or fix your RNG!!!
    Quote from zachafella831

The problem lies in the fact that people confuse "progression" with finally playing the game how you want.

I can progress into T1 easily with rares and some random buffet of legendaries the game gives me...

I can't, however, play the game like I want with the EQ set or Tal's Set or any other set for that matter.

The question is: At what point can I play the build I WANT rather than the one that is given to me?

The answer to that question should scare most....but MOST don't care or are lucky with their drops.

It is impossible to balance RNG...one can simply put some controls on her to keep her going in the right direction.

Once Blizzard understands this, a lot of us will be happier...If Blizzard ever understands this.
I think you are playing the wrong game. The excitement for many is that that one amazing item is around the corner, for you it just seems like you want the gear you want now and then you can move on.

Serious question, are you an only child?

Also, this game is awesome now. Having loads of fun.

posted a message on Aughild's Set - which ones to craft?
    Quote from lllNuggetslll

I would consider myself a mid level wizard, you can check out my setup. But, I'm looking to roll some shoulders and bracers, with my Royal ring will score the 3 set bonus. I don't have any Tal or Vyr pieces, so I'm going to try an maximize what I have now. To be honest, I feel pretty beefy with the full set bonuses from Cain's, Blackthornes, and in a bit with Aughild's. This will do so I can farm T4/T5 later on.

I'm going to farm the mats today after I get off of work (Korean Time) if anyone would like to farm them together, add me if you can run T2 solo with 4 other players split farming Act 1 and 2.

Where in Korea do you live? I live in Hwagok-dong, Seoul. It would be cool to play with you sometime. Are you on EU?

I'm going boxing tonight at around 6pm local time, so I should be on around 8pm.

posted a message on Aughild's Set - which ones to craft?
    Quote from Draco_Draco

Just build as many of the sets as you can, while balancing the items around. For me on my wizard, it means aughilds shoulder+bracer, cains feet + legs, and, if I ever get my tal rasha necklase, it means I'll be trading in my tal rasha helmet for Aughilds or Cains helmet and getting Asheara's gloves/legs for another 3 set. That way I'll have:

4 set tal rasha (5% more elemental dmg, 100 all resist, +2 arcane power/sec, meteors of fucking doom man).
    3 set cains (8% IAS, 50% exp, 50% MF).
3 set Aughilds (7%melee+ranged dmg reduc, 15% elite dmg reduc and 15% elite dmg).
3 set Ashearas (100 All resist, 20% life).
I was going down a similar route as you, but things like cindercoat, magefist, and other +skill items made my Tal Rasha set obsolete. I have almost perma meteor with 90% fire damage bonus. Splitting up my +damage to use Tal bonus is not efficient for me.

posted a message on That special moment when Ring of Royal Grandeur finally drops..
I farmed T1 for 4 days because I felt I wanted exp and money and eventually caved and started split farming normal with my clan. With an efficient group you can rake in the caches and I got one just as I was about to quit for the day. It can be a war of attrition, but you just have to stay the course and eventually the RNG gods will smile upon you. Normal is definitely the way to go for your sanity.

probably because he wants to get to level 26...

I got mine after 5 long days of grinding. It was awful and I almost gave up, but it was worth it in the end.

posted a message on Need gearing advice for BIS items
I've been pretty lucky over the last few day and switched to a fire build. However I got 2 andareal's with cold damage. What should I be looking to replace now? I guess I want an andareal's with fire damage, but I've only recently started using wiz as a main so I'm not so sure. I'm pretty happy with my dps output, but there is always room for improvement.

Bracers IMO. Lots of legendary bracers out there that can roll what you have with higher stats, and a unique legendary property.

That's my 2 cents worth :) Good luck in whatever you choose!
    Thanks.

What should I spend my blood shards on, also should I re-roll my AS gloves to crit damage? I spent ages trying to get Maghda's crafting mats so I was pretty happy with the glove roll as the flawless gems are ridiculously expensive also. I had only marquise rubies :( My gold reserves are running very low.

Is crit damage the way to go for amulets over +skill damage? I'm new to the wizard, so any build advice is welcome.

posted a message on Advice for those leveling a new character.
I knew this a long time ago, before the days of the expansion. Just a word of warning though, vendor items cannot be salvaged.
Yeah, I noticed that. I bought a slight upgrade for a few thousand gold at a low level and it was a big mistake when I realised it was now going to cost me hundreds of thousands.

I haven't leveled any characters for such a long time, so I never had items that were so valueless that I could trash them.
