+1 for this post. Definitely the most underrated skill imo. Of course, if you got enough damage to clear end game content without having to worry much about kitting more than 30 sec it's ok. On the other hand, if you want to kite indefinitely while producing damage output, it's definitely the skill. I would'nt play without strafe anymore.
1 more thing i wanted to say, i usually put strafe on my left button mouse instead of right. By doing this, as long as i got some hatred left, i got no problem dying because i attacked a creep instead of moving out of danger. I don't need space anymore to force move when i need to. When using the left button to move, if i ever end up attacking a creep instead, i still move out of danger because it attacks with strafe meaning im still moving out anyways.
There's no love for strafe? No one sent any feedback saying it's total crap or saying it is good and amusing to use. Please send some feedback, try the build and comment. I am really looking forward knowing what people thing of this. I myself never liked strafe before realizing i could just keep activating tactical advantage's movement buff to make my DH a crazy fast moving bullet spitting machine.
Putting a broken build up the front page... It just seems to me that there's not much to say about D3 anymore if we are down to this. Sorry but it is really pathetic imho.
I would definetly recommand you to take diamond skin and frost nova, especially if you use critical mass. Your problem is that you got no defensive skills and most act2 mobs will be able to get to you. About your gear, if you want to improve your survival without spending too much, i would suggest you look for a better shield (with crit since you have few crit chance and you want more than that with critical mass) since they usually sell for cheap. You might even want to reconsider using critical mass for now since you have low crit chance.
Ahelmet with a socket would definetly help you out gemming for xtra life. More res all would definitely be needed. Since you don't have much crit chance, you should probably reconsider using impale/grievous wounds. You would probably do better with elemental arrow.
Those 2 builds will definitely depend on how much discipline i will be able to generate from using NS passive. I can reach up to 72% crit chance with perfect rolls using Nat's 2 set item and a cloak with 8% crit chance on strafe. Using strafe while tactical advantage proc from evasive fire will give nearly 100% movement speed. This means that the movement penalty from strafe wont cripple me at all.
Just curious if you guys tried this build and what you think of the builds i am aiming for.
Nightstalker can be replaced. It is usefull with high crit chance but is not essential. Most runes can be swapped around. The core is evasive fire, tactical advantage and strafe, everything else can be replaced for whatever you like.
Basically, with this build, you are always on the move. The trick is to use evasive fire to trigger tactical advantage and use strafe while tactical advantage is on. You will be strafing at lightning speed. Main components are tactical advantage, strafe and evasive fire.
I developped this build for 2 reasons:
1. Most of the time i was dying with my Dh because i was standing still to cast my abilities
2. Imo, mobility is the best defense for a DH.
Similar to my build but i am focusing on costless spirit spenders instead of WOL. I definitely think that this kind of spirit generating build would be best for solo inferno. For hardcore i really like the synergy between exalted soul and near death experience.
Basically, i will be boosting spirit regeneration to maximize spirit dumping skills and thus healing with transcendence.
I think that WOTHF spirited salvo is some uber good generator in between fights. You can just quickly fill up your spirit and heal up between fights just by spamming the generator in thin air or so i think since spirit generation comes from activation of the skill.

You are wrong. You can use strafe while moving at more than 100% movement speed. Here is the build i use:
"Lightspeed strafe"
Use evasive fire to trigger tactical advantage every 2 secs and you will be moving at lightning speed while dealing damage.

Now maybe it's time for him to get outside and start having a real life.

"Full throttle"
But, if i can manage to upg my gear enough, i will probably be aiming for this:
"Crit strafe"
or
"LOH strafe"

This build is pure gold for glass canon DH's.
