posted a message on What gender will you pick for your first character and why? Also, what gender are you?
I think I will roll all of my characters male. I tried the whole female character thing back when I played World of Warcraft but that really was only because some of the male character models looked horrible. Diablo III male character models all look fine.

posted a message on If there is a Diablo IV, what would you want it to be about.
This feels a little early to speculate on as we have been told there will not be a fourth Diablo and we do not even know how Diablo III will end four to five years from now. Any speculation right now would have to be based on assumptions of how Diablo III ends.

posted a message on DiabloFans Calculator Build Contest (ONE POST ONLY)
    Barbarian

    Build: http://us.battle.net...YSiR!eVU!ZaZbZc

    Level Requirement: 58

The Build: The build focuses on solo play bosses in Inferno. I feel the build emphasizes survivability and sustained damage with moderate amounts of AoE.

    Mouse Skills

    Primary: Frenzy (Maniac)

Secondary: Hammer of the Ancients (Rolling Thunder)

    Action Bar Skills

    1: Threatening Shout (Falter)

2: War Cry (Invigorate) or Leap Attack (Iron Impact)

    3: Ignore Pain (Iron Hide)

    4: Revenge (Provocation)

    Passive Skills

    Superstition

    Tough As Nails

    Relentless

    Summary

As the build focuses on sustained damage and survivability, I felt Frenzy would be a great primary fury generator. Upon reaching Inferno, I can see Frenzy coupled with decent amount of life steal being an exemplary source of damage and regeneration. I use the Maniac rune to increase damage output.

I chose Hammer of the Ancients with the Rolling Thunder rune as my primary fury spender to have a moderate source of AoE damage should the need arise. The ability to knock groups of foes back in order to focus on a single target will also come in handy.

Threatening shout with the Falter rune is an amazing ability as far as survivability is concerned. I chose this ability for both single target and group.

War Cry with the Invigorate rune is similar in reasoning to Threatening Shout. In this case it buffs my allies and myself as well as giving me great health regeneration for when I am either tanking for a group of friends or soloing. Another choice for this skill slot I determined to be Leap Attack with the Iron Impact rune. This would be a great choice if you feel you need an initiator or a fast exit and the rune choice also provides much needed survivability.

Ignore Pain with Iron Hide are once again great for survivability.

Revenge with the Provocation rune is another source of AoE and sustain for when confronted with groups of enemies, as the rune provides yet another source of health restoration.

All three of my passives focus again on survivability. Superstition is a great anti spell passive and considering most bosses/areas with have large amounts of spell damage being thrown at you, a great choice. Tough as nails is a great anti melee passive due to the thorns buff and armor. Relentless I feel will be a great choice for early Inferno, as based on what we've seen thus far, consists of many low health experiences.

posted a message on Replayability and Hardcore
I've seen many posts about how Diablo III may not have the same longevity Diablo II had due to no real reason to create a second character of the same class. Although I disagree with these posts I can see where they're coming from.

As far as we know, a typical item run will likely involve replaying the entire game. But what about the Hardcore community? I'm not exactly familiar with just how many people were actually playing Hardcore passionately throughout Diablo II, but I'm wondering everyone thinks Diablo III will have as far as a Hardcore community.

In my opinion, I would imagine it will grow significantly due to the fact that it probably has the best replay value out of everything as far as starting from scratch. You die... you start over!

posted a message on A Request Regarding the Beta Giveaway
The facebook question that just passed was pretty much labelled as to be happening at 12:00 AM EST. This gave myself and I'm sure many, many others a fighting chance. I did not know this answer off the top of my head, but I feel most of us who did not know this question knew 90% of the other questions. I did try sitting around 6-8 hours on Sunday. It did not work, and all it does it take a frustrating topic (beta access) and add the stress of sitting in a chair with bloodshot eyes hoping for the smallest chance at winning, dwindling away one's weekend.

I know some people will argue that those who are willing to sit around 6, 8, or even 12 hours staring at facebook deserve a beta key over those who don't have the time. Granted that is a sound argument, as they truly, truly want it. But at the same time is the aim really to dangle a carrot in front of the donkey's face and say;"sit still and stare at this screen pressing f5 for 8 hours, your life is null and void?"

That is just my 2 cents. Taking an already sedentary hobby and adding even less motion to our lives as well as much unneeded anger and frustration.

Please continue posting exact times on facebook.

Ahahahaha I love that one. +1 to the person who wrote that. But then perhaps there is someone out there who truly values freshness over technology! Will we ever really know?

posted a message on Skills that should be taken out of the game.
I haven't seen any skills in beta videos that look silly to me. And as we have not seen many of the skills to call out a useless/overpowered ability right now wouldn't be right. As far as skill graphics are concerned though I would still like to see the Monk's bell... changed. Correct me if I'm wrong but does it still look out of place?

posted a message on What class did you think you'd like the least but is becoming your favourite?
To be honest I didn't think that I'd enjoy the Monk that much when I first watched videos of him, but as I do not have the beta I still can't say that will change. Though now he looks much more appealing and is shaping up to be my 3rd or 4th character.

posted a message on i give up on these beta giveaways
If it were several months ago, I would be making three or four accounts on Diablofans and making arbitrary, overdone topics just to try and fish a beta key. I would be on facebook constant refreshing for hours on end. Unfortunately my excitement towards beta has dwindled significantly. I would still love to get in, but I am not willing to go to such great lengths. I will continue posting if I have something productive to say, disregard the sentence requirement for the beta key contest, and whatever happens, happens.

posted a message on Should We Really Call it Skill Runes Anymore? What Would You Call It?
There have been too many threads on this. But anyways, so far the term I've found most favor for is "Skill Augmentation." I do feel that calling them runes should be corrected. You do not pick them up as a drop, they just become a part of you as you level up.

posted a message on New class in D3 expansion !
    Quote from Ellihsd

I think that Blizzard may try to think of doing 2 classes, One similar/returning which I would think to be Druid, I think they would fit in awesome with Diablo 3, just imaging spells like Fissure / Molten Boulder with skillrunes would be awesome

The other class although hard to guess, I think will be surrounding where Act 5 is *spoiler* I can imagine some pretty cool idea's presenting themselves in lore and in function when we get there

But it is possible Blizzard may only add 1, because when you think about it, how many variables it will add to the balancing, it will become crazy, especially if it's a completely new attempt at an archetype, so I'm leaning towards to just a Druid return which would be awesome

And there will be two expansions, so which is more likely, two new classes or four?

The first expansion will likely introduce a shield bearing hero. The most likely return of the Paladin, but it could just be something new.
