posted a message on Monk's Defensive Passives
Where did you hear dodge cap is low? to be honest I have not found anything saying there is a dodge cap.

One with everything is a grate passive skill , However I see a problem with it. To use it to the best of its ability you need to stack one resistance. That could be expensive if you use the auction house or very time consuming if your farming for it.

Resolve decreases the enemies damage when you hit them. Or at lest thats how I read it.

Some people complain about the monk not having large offensive passives. Combination strike is the only one and to get the most out of it you need to use more generators witch in turn eats up your skill slots. I think its a good thing there are a lot of defensive passives on the monk. With the speed of the monks attacks any most should not have a problem keeping up in damage.

Really? I got them and Im very very happy with them. the range that you can get off of them is really nice ( high highs , and low bass) . With the EQ settings I was wanting a few more frequency ranges to work with but I can do that with my computer.

It took about a week for my headset to get to my house when it showed up. It was on the last day that fedex said it would be here.

    Quote from Elire

I just hope it's hard enough so that when all the people who is saying, I'll beat it within 2 weeks from launch, will be the same people that whine and blame Blizzard for their inability to "finish" the game. =)

I really hope they wont ever touch inferno if it's not too easy. Hard is what gives most of us long time gamers a kick nowadays, I wouldn't care if it took me 5 months before I beat it.
My thoughts EXACTLY . With all of the threads saying " o ill own inferno within 2 weeks" it think of the old saying, the higher up they are, the harder they fall .

I have to agree that I think each hit could very well leach life. The only thing I see as a issue is most of the leach life weapons Iv found say convert a percent of damage into life. I could just be forgetting one that does grant health per hit.

I think that we should be able to trade an item that you have dyed. You should not be able to put the dyed item on AH or trade the bottle itself.

posted a message on Why I think a 3 generator build is viable
    Quote from PaulKay

Say fellas, I intend to buy a new mouse so I can do some neat Diablo 3 macros.
I am torn between Gigabyte M8000X and Diablo3 Steelseries.
Not sure which one would be better.
Stats-wise, Gigabyte seems to be slightly better, but not sure if the macro support is just as good.
    Tips?

Also, I noticed the thread on official battlenet forum was deleted. What gives?
I intend to be a manic monk. I have a steelseries D3 mouse. The buttons are well placed so a macro is not even nessesary. Not to mention with the monk and using more generators I can see a macro being more of a curse then a blessing that everyone seems to think it is. If you kill an enemies on your second part of your combo your macro is now out of sync.

In my opinion D3 mouse and not using a macro is best. However I am not the one who has to pay for the mouse so it is all your call.

I think each skill has its use and its place. For example you may not think a rock useful, but if your trapped in a glass box you would be happy you have it.

posted a message on Monk build diversity
As a manic monk myself I can tell you iv seen many a different build of monks. Yes there are some similarities among some builds but thats true for all classes. I have seen some builds where no mantra is used. Others with unique trends to them. just as "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so too will the idea of a good monk build be different to each person.

I dont think macros would work as well as you would think. If you kill enemies only 2/3 of the way through your combo the macro will now be out of synchronization.

I was playing a monk and my girlfriend was trying the witch doctor. I ran up to enemies only to be swarmed in corpse spiders. the spiders where the same colour as the zombies . I could not tell friend from foe. My girlfriend laughed at me.

Or the time when we where playing and she was on her demon hunter. she shot the head off of a zombie and made its head go flying like a flipping coin. She then laughed make the evil madman I know and love ^^

Back in my WoW times I did some pvp from time to time. I was not really good at it ( I sucked ) there are times where i would get squished but I came back because I was having fun. A friend of mine who I will be playing D3 with ( we use to play WoW together) will be my follower for D3. He said "we may die... a lot... no like a lot" because of us having fun. pulling big group we cant do. pull a boss because " it seemed like a good idea at the time." Just having fun with it.

So if servers for him where to go up at midnight and he where to play and play and play. Eventually he would tier out . The difference in time zones is erelavent. Its stamina in general ? isn't it? Am I missing something?

There was a thread I was involved in a while back where we were asking Blizzard if the GUI could be configured so that we could stack generators in the order we wanted, e.g. strike 1 from skill 1, strike 2 from skill 2, strike 3 from skill 3, for example. It just wasn't practical to make this a part of the game interface itself, however with mouse macros it seems entirely possible to achieve this!

My only concern, taking a step back, is that I think overall the build is inefficient because you require too many skill slots with not enough left over for utility:

    - The build lacks mobility
    - The build lacks the ability to dump fury into higher damage skills (SSS has a high CD)
    - The build lacks hard cc and escapes

All of these things are because you have 3 slots and a passive taken up with things you need to make the build work :)

    Overall very interesting though.
With 3 generators you have to be crazy not to take combination strike . With that you don't need a large damaging spirit spender, your generators do more then enough for that. So that leave your last few skills with some survivability , so you could put in a mobility skill a CC and an some extra defence skill. If your not careful tho your skill and passives are sucked up and your build may not work.

Doesn't take away from the fact that the build is inefficient. It uses 3 skills to form 1 effective skill. Sure you get some small bonuses from the combinations (like a teleport on 1st strike, an enemy debuff etc.) but those things are small compared to having actual utility spells like dashing strike, cyclone strike etc.
The runes on the spirit generators are quite diverse in that you can take some for utility. Not to mention thats what your last 3 skill slots can be used for. If thought out it will be quite a good setup.
