I got excited when they announced rune words were making a comeback, but then saw how they actually functioned and it was just a big MEH. Hopefully this was just thrown together for the demo at Blizzcon and will get an extensive passover and rework before launch.

It procs when your character actually gains a level(1-70) or paragon level. The higher you go in paragons the less the secondary effect is triggered. I think that needs to be reworked to something different imo.

I have lurked this forum since vanilla and knew he was a complete clown for at least a year and half now. I only started to feed the troll once he called me a troll himself. I was looking to prove my point about him and I did.

The main cancer I have noticed in all these threads over the last week is that of Demonmonger attacking everyone who doesn't offer the same opinion as himself. In this thread alone, he has called me a troll and even gone so far as to childishly add me to his ignore list for calling him out on his hypocrisy. The other trolls seem to have already moved on back to reddit or the main blizz forums.

I have no problem reading posts and I didn't insult you. If you think being a hypocrite is insulting then don't be one. Also, you are correct, you do lash out, quite a bit actually. My previous post was not a bait post. Your angry and lashing out, that's why you think that.

I have mixed emotions on this years Blizzcon. Yes, I'm most definitely excited about the Necro class coming but completely crushed that it isn't coming by way of expansion. Let me explain why. Coming as a simple character pack will only give me about 1-3 months of semi new content. After that first season with the Necro then its right back to the same old thing. If, however, they went with an xpac to release the Necro we would most likely have received a new act and a bump to 80 level cap. For me that's up 7 seasons of new content, by rotating out classes each season, trying out w/e new skill they could have added for each class and grinding out all the higher level gear for each. If you look at it like this, which is really more appealing to you for your money?

Don't get me wrong. I will most likely be getting the Necro Pack as long as the price point seems reasonable for what it really is we will be getting.

Micro-transactions: I completely disagree with you on this point though. While, yes, $10 for wings and such is high end, I think plenty of people out there would gladly piss away $5 for such items. There are farming communities in game for all these transmogs and wings now. It wouldn't hurt for them to atleast stick their foot in the water and see what it's like.

If 8-9 months isn't a stupidly long wait to you, then I'd hate to see what is.

With MTX (a steady stream of money is a huge incentive to keep updating the game and add content ie PoE) and updates, a game can only grow and become better and better.

And btw, this isn't an experiment, Blizz already established it with SCII. Base game that costs money + cosmetic MTX. No problem.

Moreover, I'll say this, don't go cheap on MTX. Have $5 items, have $20 items, have $100 items. There are people who will buy a $100 hat, like this guy here. Why shouldn't he be allowed to spend money to fund development and make the game better for the ENTIRE community? Let him! Shiet, do $500 too, what the heck!!

For all you know, this is fixed on an internal build and will be pushed before s11 starts. Gone are the days where you went gold with a game or expansion and that was it.

Looking at how much content PoE gets constantly, it's obvious that Blizzard chose wrong with a buy2play model. While D3 monetization was insanely high in 2012 and 2014, they barely make money these days with it. PoE on the other hand is a top100 seller on steam, years after its release.

Honestly I would have actually liked this idea if you couldn't craft them.

Same was when they announced Caldesanns...

It's about the grind yeah, but it's Diablo.

I rather search for a primal ancient item than mindlessly farming paragon.

But lets be honest it only diminishes the gap between 24/7 players and players (like me) who are efficiently playing between ~3-8 hours a day.

Players with less playtime or determination will still suffer from this. It's why I can understand the mostly negative feedback.

But in the long run it's a minor improvement to the game, especially if you're mainly playing NS.

I completely disagree. There is ZERO need for, in your words, "advancing power" in this game. If there is an infinite source of power, then NOTHING can be balanced. Name me ANY other game that's well balanced AND has an infinite source of power. You know what that power creep means? It means higher and higher Greater Rifts are achieved, which means in itself means higher paragon levels and legendary gem levels, which feeds into higher Greater rift levels... and it never ends.

It kills any sort of build variety, because even if a build is only say 5-10% lower than another build in terms of overall power, that's exacerbated by the never ending increase in difficulty created by the greater rifts.
Secondly, drops are absolutely NOT where they ought to be, when blood shard gambling, season gift bags and targeted rare upgrades are taken into consideration.

While I quite honestly could give a rats ass about the people who are in the thousands of paragon, I'm sure Blizzard is for some reason worried about hurting their feelings. Which is why we've gotten the Diablo franchise of today; an arcade game. A game meant to be really fun for a little bit, and that's it.

When D3 vanilla first launched, I defended it like it was my own fucking castle; RMAH? Oh sure that'll be really good. Itemization? Oh yea they'll work it out. Was console development impeding on the PC version? Of course not! There's no WAY Blizzard would let slip what's arguably THE arpg of our time!

Well, with the PTR changes many have noticed the locked fps of the game has been changed for PC, and it dawned on me. Console has not only held back Diablo 3, it ruined it. Hell, I couldn't figure out what was going on the first time I saw my friend play D3 on console. Why the hell did it look so smooth, compared to my 165hz Gsync monitor? Oh, because frame rate wasn't locked. Console turned the Diablo franchise into a fast paced, arcade game. An arcade game where monster types don't matter, any build that didn't have a corresponding set didn't matter, and legendary beams dropped like rain in a thunder storm. Don't think too deep about builds or itemization! You're meant to be having fun on the couch with your buddies, and that's it.

You know, on one hand I get it. Companies NEED to show growth, they can't be stagnant. While us on the outside would think "oh yea they're making just as much money as the last couple of years" and think that's fine, to a company who has to answer to share holders, that shit doesn't fly. If you don't show growth, something is wrong. So, where does Blizzard find this growth? Well, what about all those people who play video games, but not on a computer? And henceforth the console version of D3 was realized. And I am DAMN sure someone in their meeting decided that it'd be too 'confusing' if PC and console versions where drastically different, so lets make sure one can't move forward without the other.

Which of course means we aren't going to see any actual, significant changes to any of the pillars of Diablo.

Aaaaaaaaaaanyways, /rant off. This is the game we are stuck with.
