posted a message on Anybody else have this bug from 1.0.3?
My guess is it's because of their new weapon comparison system. Here:
When comparing a two-handed weapon against two currently-equipped one-handed weapons, the game will now simulate the removal of both one-handed weapons (instead of simply removing the main-hand weapon, which resulted in an inaccurate comparison)
Maybe what it did in your case is: it compared the item in your bag with your currently equipped bow AND the quiver. Hence the minor boost.
Seems like a bug when the system sees the two-handed item you want to equip, then sees that you have two items in both hands, and then applies this new two-handed to dual-wield comparison algorythm.

EDIT: doesn't really explain the situation with gloves from shootingbull's post, put still feels like a right direction to me. Though who knows.

posted a message on Was anyone with a physical authenticator hacked?
Did you know that having wps enabled on your wireless roter leaves it vulnerable to a simple brute force attack with a guaranteed result in less than 12 hours? Wps is usuallly enabled by default, so that leaves a lot of private wireless networks open to any person with this knowledge that wants to gain access. This doesn't have anything to do with account hacks, it's just an example of a really common security issue, which is not a common knowledge among the users. Now imagine how many holes does a dedicated person know.
My friend recently got hacked and he is not likely to click some shady links or buy gold or something. He said that he was thinking and can't figure out what he could've done wrong. We played WoW for about 3 years and everything was fine. My only guess is it has something to do with some beta contests. Anyway mobile auth is free and physical is really cheap, I don't know why people are hesitant to get one of those.
All in all I don't think Blizzard has any security issues. And an authenticator is worth getting.

    items?

    Quote from Peter_1993

How did you get so much life on hit? Would you recommend sacrificing some resistance (730 to all at the moment) for life on hit?
Items are under spoiler below. My life on hit is from the weapon and the amulet. I can't really say about making sacrifices, maybe you could find some cheap gear with LoH on it and just test it, and then decide. The thing is I still need a lot more resistances and more hp. In the end I want to take as little damage as possible while quickly regaining health via LoH. But there must be balance between the two because too much LoH without mitigation won't do anything and vice versa. And I might also be a little low on damage, because I play with one or two friends, that are more damage-oriented (wiz and dh). Maybe there's a better solution for singleplayer, I don't know. For example stacking % of life per hit and going heavy dps (so you can burn mobs quickly), but I can say for sure, that for me pure mitigation didn't work. Also I do die sometimes. Medusas with invulnerable minions? I don't know if I could cope with that. Fast molten teleporter with fire chains? No, thanks. But I can tank Belial and Zoltun's adds while he throws fireballs at me.

EDIT: forgot to add the weapon lol. Here it is:

    EDIT2:
A quick Zoltun Kulle video. As you can see the wizard does all the damage, I'm just holding them off a little, and then chase poor Zoltun. I jumped into the friend's game to capture the video, hence almost no stacks. Usually we get 5 stacks together, then kill Zoltun and Belial.
Rather crappy sound because of skype (that annoying noise)

posted a message on Inferno Act 2 stats. need help!
Life on hit + attack speed work pretty well for me. Also dodge mantra with armor bonus and deadly reach with keen eye rune buff my armor up to about 10k. I'm playing with a wizard friend, so I'm more of a tank, but I can tank pretty much everything in Act 2 with these stats (no auras or buffs active).

    And here's my build.
So my unbuffed stats are worse than yours and I'm having little to no problems in Act 2, can even stand in desecrator zones a little. Try to play with your build and check out life on hit, I think this should do the trick. And personally I don't like healing mantra, in my experience dodge makes much more difference.

posted a message on Have I got it right?
Well, I was going to try to help, but then I realised that I don't remember anything about early difficulties. I remember mantra of healing being really useful, it allows to tank pretty much everything and boss fights are just stationary. Ofc stack dex, not sure about spirit regen though. It is handy, but 2-3/sec was enough for me. Attack speed and vitality are needed, yes. More attack speed = more spirit and more damage. Take as much as you can. Rings and amulets with damage (5-10 damage for example) are going to give you more dps than attack speed until some point in the game. Until hell maybe, I don't know the exact point. So on early difficulties you may want to wear those instead of ias ones.
As for offensive skills I really like cyclone strike, sweeping wind and any generator. I like way of the hundred fists because of it's animation =) But until hell there's really nothing mandatory.
As for passives I have been using Transcendence and Chant of Resonance for a veeeery long time. Chant gives you all the spirit regen you need (IMO) and Transcendence heals a lot, just try it.
Combat tactics are stand as long as you want and punch things =) Dashing strike is also very fun to use, a pity I can't stick it into my inferno build. With rune that lowers it's cost and some spirit regen (Chant) you can spam it as much as you want. Treasure goblins are doomed :D I also used it to dodge special attacks like Diablo's Inferno.
When mobs start hitting you really hard and you feel like kiting, you can try Deadly Reach. There's a thread in this forum where a monk uses Deadly Reach with Keen Eye rune (+50% armor) and Sweeping Wing on inferno, that's a viable tactic, you may want to use it in later difficulties. Here's the thread. Of course there are other builds, you can try to tank mobs using Crippling Wave with damage reducing rune and Resolve passive, but I don't think you really need all this atm.
Serenity is a must have when monsters are starting to be a threat. You can use it even when you are frozen, or to break prison if some prison desecrators try to catch you in their aoe. Also makes fight with Izual much easier. I think I would have taken it as soon as it became available, if I was levelling a new monk. Well, maybe a couple levels later, but anyway it's amazing.
Well, I don't know what else I can say. Hope this helps.

posted a message on Dodge not working as intended?
    Quote from RohenDar

How can you not see a disbalance? All the stats for all the classes cost the same on your items. Yet if you give a berserker 100 strength he gets 2% reduction all the time. If you give a monk 100 dexterity he only get 2% on everything but pools.

And Zic, your logic is completely flawed. Yes dodge is a chance at 100% reduction. It's also a chance at 0% reduction! That's how dodge works, overall in the long run you get to the % you have on your gear. The way it is now, my 45% dodge is only 45% against melee and ranged casts. As soon as a pool spawns my dodge is 0%.

The berserkers 80% armor is still 80% armor on pools; NOT 0%
Monk has multiple ways to survive including an inpenetrable 3-4s shield with 20s cd. And you can also stack armor via dodge aura rune (+20%) and dex passive (1 dex = 1 armor), there's a +20% resist rune as well, though it belongs to another aura. I only feel weaker than other classes because I can't kite as well as ranged ones, but monk's survivability is really good. I can't see any major unfairness from monk's perspective. Hate fast molten enemies, but again: who doesn't? Plagued are a joke even with my 200 resistances (inferno act II), Desecrators are ok - you have time to move away.
I don't know if we can compare "pure" stats without considering other benefits and downsides each class has. But I really think there's nothing gamebraking in not being able to dodge persistent ground aoe.

posted a message on Dodge not working as intended?
Is there a thread on official forums about this? Maybe we should ask there and see if we get some explanation.
Though it does seem somewhat logical: I can't dodge a pool of acid I'm standing in :)
Also dodge doesn't work when you are stunned while res and armor do.
I can't see any real unfairness here, no gamebraking disbalance. But dodging everything would have been better indeed :)

posted a message on AH Before Inferno - Need Help
No matter what you buy, here's a tip:
Items appear in AH in bulks every 5 minutes. So fill in your desired stats like 100str, 100vit, 40k buyout max. And refresh AH every 5 minutes. If you are lucky, you can get good rare items really cheap, but you must buyout them fast, because people buy them in a flash. I got rare boots 100dex 64vit and some resistance along with gold pickup radius for 1000 gold yesterday (yes, one thousand gold). Of course you are not guaranteed to find great items, but you will be amazed how cheap you can get some decent gear.
