I don't know if I have just been lucky, but I have probably only played for two hours since the patch, and I have found 4 different Ancient items. One of them was a nice weapon upgrade. I thought these were to be ultra rare? Granted, getting a full set of my existing armor upgraded to Ancient will take a very long time, but I honestly did not think I would see more than 1 Ancient in even the first week.
I seem to be stuck as to where I need to improve my toon. I am a pretty casual player, so while I dont exactly intend on trying to get to the top of the leaderboards, I wouldnt mind going farther than I am at the moment=) I can do Grift 30 ok, but after that it starts to get kind of hairy. I have been reading about the Phalanx build with the new shield, so I guess that would be a way I could go, but not really sure if that would actually allow me to go farther than I am now. I typically play solo, any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Quick, likely noobie question. I use Arcane Torrent as my main damage dealer, but have a Thunderfury as my weapon. Being the weapon is lightning based, but my main damage spell is arcane, should I be stacking lightning damage? Or Arcane?
Making gems isnt really a one time expense if you plan on making the top tier which will take thousands of of marquise gems to make, along with the minimum of 200,000 gold on the lowest combine. I have used close to 100,000,000 gold on enchants and gems and the gold you get in game from drops/bounties/rifts comes nowhere near enough to make up for that.
with the AH gone, what do you need gold for? Other than repairs?
Really? I only have half of the new gem recipes and it costs 500,000 to remove a gem from a socket, forget about the ridiculous amount it costs to actually make the gems.
I tried to limit my exposure to RoS beta information as I wanted it to all feel new when it went live. But, I do recall seeing some legendary swords over 3k dps....I think I do anyway. I have found a few one handers so far, even crafted Griswolds Perfection, and the highest DPS I have seen is 2022. I have yet to find one that would replace a yellow sword I found. I also crafted two set items which were very lackluster especially considering the amount of materials it takes to make them. Am I just unlucky so far, or were the items toned down?
Hmmm., I thought I read specific ones drop from specific things. Like the Adventurers Journal was from bodies and bookcases etc. Ah well. Good to know.
