posted a message on Kripp tips @Blizzard
Everything this guy says and does is an affront to anyone with even the slightest bit of intelligence. He acts high and mighty, arrogant, insults the community, and is an all around punk. I can't believe he has amassed such a following from his Diablo 3 exploits. Furthermore, to those comparing Kripp to Athene: you are delusional. Athene knows he is a troll and doesn't take himself too seriously, unless it is to raise money for a good cause. I personally dislike Athene because of how annoying he is, but he is no where near as bad as this tool.

I can't wait until he inevitably fades into obscurity. Since the only thing he is good at is riding the coat tails of others while taking all of the credit. I mean if D3 was a skill based game I'd have at least some semblance of respect for the guy as a gamer, but it's not. It is an item based game that hinges entirely on gear. Just about any Barb with equivalent gear and friends willing to carry them through content could've accomplished the exact same thing.

posted a message on Blacksmithing value
I actually made a thread about weapon crafting on the official forums: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5621023584

To sum it up, weapons are not worth crafting because of the massive amount of cost in comparison to AH items. An ilvl 62 (6 property) weapon costs about ~170k in items/gold to craft. If you made 10 of them in hopes of getting one useful item you'd be spending at least 1.7 million gold (that's excluding the cost of the pattern if you had to buy it). A 1.7 million weapon on the AH of any type is an extremely good weapon. Furthermore, you have the option to browse for the stats you want for that much money and window shop until you get exactly what you're looking for. You might even find a good deal for substantially less, or a downright amazing weapon for just a little bit more. The same can not be said for crafting.

Most likely 1 in 10 weaps won't even be valued at 10k, let alone 1.7 million. This is because of the ilvl, stat values, and sheer abundance of stats that can appear on a weapon. You need to nail stat rolls on a weapon just right to make it useful which makes the risk vs. reward in crafting absolutely terrible.

If you are aching to craft items make 6 property chests, gloves, and boots. They are three slots that you can actually have a return on investment for and find usable items. The stats aren't as insanely varied and you can roll something that can be useful for multiple classes, unlike a weapon which needs basically 2 stats for every single class (% damage and + damage), which narrows the useful stats a great deal.

    Best of luck.

posted a message on Kripparrian and Krippi Hardcore Diablo Inferno World First Kill
The real shame is that this post is feeding Kripparrian even more hits on his horrible stream. I can only hope that this will be officially discredited and you will take down his twitch feed, as well as the image that shows his YouTube channel.

If you want to give anyone credit give it to all of No Life, because it was a concerted effort. You wouldn't give only a main tank credit if an entire guild downed a raid boss, so why is this clown getting essentially all the credit for the Diablo kill, especially when his own friends said he couldn't have pulled it off without Krippi (check the streams if you don't believe me, they say it several times).

If the guy was ever humble or nice, cleared it without being fed gear, cleared it solo (both without another person and without being given so much loot), didn't bash the entire Barbarian community, didn't get many characters power leveled, and was an all around decent person I would be heaping congratulations on him. Too bad he has done none of the above...

So, the game is doable without a single death.... Why is it being nerfed again? :S

Ya, because having an entire guild of people feeding you gear to the point that it trivializes the game is what everyone is doing, right?

Because one group of people is a sufficient sample in order to dictate/justify the balance of an entire game, played by millions of people across the planet, right?

By that logic the next time a guild in WoW manages to full clear an entire expansion in like a week, be sure to make said content exponentially more difficult in a hotfix. Despite the fact that 99% of the players won't even see it for months. See where I am going with this?

All Kripparrian did was get fed gear by Krippi and the rest of No Life, then proceed to bad mouth every Barbarian on his stream if they couldn't full clear inferno as well. Then he goes and dies in HC multiple times just to get power leveled by his buddies over and over.

This guy deserves credit alright, for being the biggest troll in all of Diablo 3.

All credit goes to Krippi and the other unknowns within No Life that literally handed this guy his gear and characters, then proceeded to carry him through the content.

I assume that means Kulle leveling is no more. Was fun while it lasted.

Ya it gives pretty bad experience now =(. Oh well, back to the slow grind.

posted a message on Patch 1.0.2b Tomorrow - Official Patch Notes
    How about a patch that:
    • Fixes the attack speed bug on legendary/set items
    • Nerfs Tyrael so he doesn't farm for people in Act 3/4
    • Fixes the Act 4 Inferno glitch
    • Nerfs Inferno chest drops so they are useless without first obtaining 3-5 Neph stacks (like bosses)
    • Expands the amount of stats you can search for on an item in the Auction House (4 stats at least)
    • Allow you to search for specific stats on legendary items in the Auction House
    • Remove certain search values from items in the AH that can't spawn that stat (like boots w/ socket)
    • Makes it so mobs don't literally follow you the entire time while you are invisible in Smoke Screen, thus defeating the purpose
    • Many other things that matter instead of trash patches like this one

Pretty sad that they are doing a patch like this in the middle of the day. They should do it at around 1 AM PST when people aren't on.

only emergencies or extremely long patches start outside of business hours...these people have lives/families too

I don't see anything in this patch that is an emergency, which several other people have already stated. What they need to patch is things like making the Neph buff stay if you simply swap skills on your hot bar, or get DC'd. They said in the past that if you get DC'd from a game you have time to start it up again before it is gone, but that isn't even in the case.

The list of important changes that would warrant an emergency is long and none of these are among them. I mean updating tooltips? Seriously? Not to mention that the Azmodan quest hasn't given EXP for the second half for three days now so that's just a bold faced lie.

They really need to lower the discipline cost on Smoke Screen if they are going to essentially crush their most important skill. Half the effect with all of the cost? Crazy.

posted a message on (Recap) Diablo III - Mutliplayer
    Quote from Rigelberry

Where was this scaling data obtained? I know that Inferno is supposed to be hard, but it seems a little odd that a group of 4 would cause monsters to have 440% health. It seems as if it would deter grouip play in Inferno. I could understand 100%, but am surprised at 110%

The health isn't what I think is the big factor in scaling, it's the damage output. If you have four people doing damage it's entirely reasonable that they have four times the health. The scary part is that Inferno monsters will be doing 45% more damage than if you were playing by yourself, on top of being far more numerous. The real kicker is that if you were playing by yourself in Inferno you'd have to still do the same portion of damage (for your share), but you'd be hit for 45% less every time.

Considering that you get no bonus EXP, increased drop rates, or gold/mf for groups, it's hard to see the statistical benefit of group at the Inferno difficulty if all you want to do is clear the game.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Beta Patch 11 - Official Patch Notes
I hate to admit this, but everything I seem to read from them lately is some variation of "We like X feature but are scrapping it due to time constraints. We need to stay on course to release the game on time and have more important things to balance. Hopefully it will be implemented (revisited) after launch."

It just feels like they bit off more than they can chew with this game. How else could so many key mechanics be drastically overhauled or removed this late in the game? I enjoy the transparency of the development process, but it's hard not to scrutinize how things are going when a game misses a projected release window only to be revamped/gutted shortly thereafter.

yay for dumb tooltips....? they better allow us to switch to "complicated tooltips" even though they arent...

You click control and they pop up with the advanced ones. I can also bet money that they will allow you to toggle on advanced tool tips 100% of the time, rather than having to click an additional key to view them.

I really can't wait to get back on the beta to see what these new affixes do. If they have a large impact I am going to be so damn excited. The build potential and affix combinations just got exponentially more exciting.

posted a message on Just started playing Barbarian...
I couldn't agree more. The sound, feel, and look of all of his attacks are exceptionally well done. When I first bashed a target across the map it felt so damn good. Then the first time I leapt into a group of mobs I was very impressed. They really nailed the way that he feels. It was a nice shift from the Wizard, who aside from his beam and knockback, feels rather uninspiring.

The Witch Doctor also feels pretty bad ass once you push 10+.

I just can't wait to see how things look and feel at 60, with great gear/enchants, and the runes I want. As of right now Barbarian is my favorite to play, followed by Witch Doctor. I still think Wizard is the most potent of them all though. I still think Barb can rival him with the right build and gear, since gear upgrades are the most noticeable on the Barb.
