Those were datamined strings, which means that they're strings in the game for "whenever we feel like using them, we'll have them available". It's not the kind of things they would announce in the patch notes. This is more something they'll make a blue post on May 15 (D3 Anniversary).Quote from FenixdownSo, the datamined community event buffs...that wasn't a thing? : /

Lots of companies can dish out more updates but it doesnt always means its more polished or better. Theres a new Call of Duty every 6 months, which generally reuse almost everything. Diablo 3 may not have been the greatest at launch, but in general, Blizzard is known (and got big to begin with) because they may be slow, but they bring really polished stuff to the table.Quote from StrykerMikado
Blizzard sure is slow to develop things eh? No real new content to speak of but changes to a system. How come other companies dish out updates in a better fashion than the biggest one of them all? I'd bet their code is so difficult to deal with that making any changes takes more work then it is suppose to. They should know by now that re-configuring systems is almost a must because of the changing nature of gamers and how off base blizzard nowadays.

That high light reel actually makes me want to stay far away from D3 on console, if that's representative of people Blizzard wants as their target audience, I might as well never play a blizzard title again.
By those standsards, you should never watch or go to PAX East or PAX Prime because they're representative of the people that runs it. -

How to combat bots (And account sharers) with a simple check (Modified for readability)
1.)
UPDATE ACCOUNTS
SET Banned = 1
WHERE
LoggedInGame = "Diablo 3"
AND LoggedInGame = "World Of Warcraft"
AND Diablo3.TimeFromLastAction < Seconds(5)
AND WorldOfWarcraft.TimeFromLastAction < Seconds(5)
2.)
UPDATE ACCOUNTS
SET Banned = 1
WHERE Diablo3.LoggedInSessionDuration > Hours(500)
AND LongestIdleTimeSinceSessionStart < Seconds(5)
To Paraphrase Kripparian:
"I know people who are so pro, they can grind A3 Inferno whilst raiding in WoW!"
I have two monitors, on one, World of Warcraft is up, on the second Diablo 3 is up. In fact, WoW is up all day, regardless of what i'm doing, just so i can keep WoW up as a giant chat program if nothing else.
The other day i was doing dailies with a tank friend, he would round up things and i would cast a Blizzard that lasts 8 second (of which you are considered active all 8 seconds). Meanwhile, i would slide my mouse to the D3 side of things, where i was in a MP2 "Public Game" (aka: I joined two other people from General Chat) and i could keep up and kill stuff, while always making sure to cast 1 spell every 8 seconds in wow.
...It's probably not something i'll do again because it was pretty crazy. But having both up and doing an action in both under 5 seconds is DEFINITELY something that happens often. And i never bot. The only thing it takes would be to play d3, reply to one line of text in wow and continue d3 to get banned under your "system".
TL;DR: People can have multiple monitors. -

Are some people seriously saying that having 1 point wonders in Diablo 2 increased build diversity and versatility.
EVERYONE had those points. If i ever saw a 80+ barbarian without battle orders, i laughed at them. A necromancer without curses? You might as well reroll. Those didnt increase build diversity. This is the exact same as every barbarian using Warcry Impunity or every wizard using Energy Armor.
Build diversity is a pipe dream, I'm amazed that Blizzard hasn't learned that from 7+ years of WoW development.
It's pretty good right now, maybe not for all classes, but take Wizard:
They have choices between Archon builds, Arcane Orb builds, some Arcane Torrent builds surfaced lately, then there's Hydra/Blizzard builds, and Critical Mass builds (of both the Blades/Meteor and Twister variety (despite the fact it was slightly nerfed) )
Sure, Disintegrate never see daylight beyond leveling, but i wouldnt say that diversity isnt sucessful. -

On the WD, they upped it from 20 to 45 on the mana regen.
If it was 20 at 300 %, that means it was 80 with VQ.
45*1.3 = 58.5. It is slightly less, but you don't have to use it though. The rest of the stuff got buffe,d I am sure it was for a good reason they lowered VQ.
If you read Dev Blog, they did. "Have 4 skills on cooldown" is the worst mechanic ever. Basically, sure now you have less regen (60 instead of 80), but at least, you now have cooldowns you can use... Now you can Spirit Walk for Mana because you need mana, not because the skill went off CD and you risk losing VQ... -

what are the incentives to go 2h barb when you as 1h+board can just bypass all the trashmobs and just slam down the elites? i dont even take down the minions when i dont have to. (i think 2h i way cooler tho, but effective?)
2H will have higher affxies to compensate the fact you lose the stats of an offhand, for example, they can roll up to 200% crit damage in 1.0.4 to compensate for two weapons rolling for 100%. The gap between 1h and 2h is going to be smaller.

So, in all the examples they give, the fix is just to buff the number values of under used skills. Don't get me wrong, I think this needed to be done, but it could have happened months ago in a simple tuesday patch. I kind of expected something new... maybe Cleave building stacks of a bleed on elites or something. Maybe when the patch notes are released we will see more redesigns and not just buffed values added to existing skills.
They gave us examples for one class so far. Maybe they thought barbarians mechanics were all pretty solid, they just needed numbers to compensate. I'd bet we'll see more redesigns in the Witch Doctor blog... -

You mean to tell me that Scoundrels and Enchantress' can use offhands??
You realize those screenshots were taken early in development and some things changed since then right? Scoundrel/Enchantress cant use offhands just like we cant have double gems in our weapons. -

More ilvl 61+ drops
more loot from monsters
or higer % all round?
please enlighten me oh wise one
I would be fine with just removal of 49-56 gear from Inferno :/
Actually, i found some pretty badass level 54 stuff because its nicely itemized, but that's so rare...
49-53 at least, their upper end is really too low to serve any purpose. -

It's not that I am not playing right, it's that I don't have the time to sit there and farm for items, I do not like how this game is all about gear, that's important, but it shouldn't the main thing. All I see is negative updates, removing this and that, nerfing that, taking away this because it's not how 'they' want the game to be played. This should have all been done before the release, because the game at release WAS the game to me, now everything being done afterwards is just them removing things.
I did not need to farm gear until Inferno. I did redo Act 2, Act 3 and Act 4 in Hell, but only once, that's not really farming now is it? You need to look at your skills and your playstyle. THey matter alot more than your gear at low level (if not using the AH).
Go in options, Gameplay, turn on Elective mode. Put 2-3 defensive cooldowns on your bars if you need to. -

ffs, what a pathetic little company Blizzard has become. Another way to charge you to change 15 characters in a database.
Actually the fact that they will even let you have any means (even if its paid) to change it is good. Though we have no confirmation on how much it will cost. How many games let you change your username after its made? not that many
who much does blizz pay you?
Because Blizzard totally need to pay people to use common sense on the internet while not spewing blind hatred for their company.
If that happened, it would be the easiest possible way to make money. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

If it really is, you should tell Blizzard, because It would be missing from their "List of Torment Only Legendaries": http://www.diablofans.com/blizz-tracker/topic/52028-is-wand-of-woh-torment-only-drop

I also got two chantodo forces from her. (with a mirrorball inbetween)

Yes, Crit and Crit Damage works for Disintegrate. If you notice, the white damage ticks are never the same. That's because of how it works as a channel spell, it hits extremely fast (we're talking splitseconds) and since that would be wayyy too many numbers, Blizzard "combines" all the attacks done in a 0.5sec window into a single number. If there were say, 20 attacks in that window, and 15 of them are crits, the white number will be bigger than if only 3 of them were crit. So yes, it does benefits from Crit and Crit damage, and its still the best way to get your damage up.
It also benefits from attack speed, but you dont see the beam shoot faster since it'll still combines all the ticks in the same 0.5sec window but 2 attacks per second means double disintegrate damage. It also means twice the arcane power consumption. The best bet to not run out of arcane power would be to have Ressource Cost Reduction, at least on your shoulders and possibly weaon (Damage, Intellect, Socket, Ressource)
The slower your weapon, the less arcane power Disintegrate will use. Slower weapons also means higher weapon damage so your damage will the same as using an equivalent faster weapon. Also, using the Templar with Inspire is great, as well as possibly looking into 3piece Tal Rasha for the 2 arcane per second would help.

Take this for example: Add 1% damage reduction when you dont have any. Instead of taking 100 damage, you take 99. That's a 1% reduction. If you add that 1% when you have 90% reduction, you go from taking 10 damage, to 9 damage. That's a 10% increase in damage reduction! So the same amount that gives you 1% when you dont have any, need to give you 0.1% when you have 90% so that they are BOTH equal to a 1% reduction.
Armor and Resists always gives you the same amount of reduction, no matter how much you have.
Sorry for being offtopic, i just really felt like correcting the guy

BUT, you could reroll that socket into getting 6% crit -and- 13% damage. How great would that be? Based on your other helm, i take it you were going to put a ruby in it, and 39% xp isnt that great because if you really wanted to get xp, you could bump up the difficulty and get 400, 800, 1100% exp. I wouldnt give up 6% Crit to change that into 439, 839 or 1139 in the grand scheme of things.
If it was a multiplicative bonus, that would be an entire different story. (Would turn those dfifficulties into 556, 1112, 1529)

I don't know what you were saying by "Having to start paying per month". Diablo 3 has absolutely no monthly costs, that you got the annual pass or not and neither will Reaper of Souls. In general, only MMOs have subscriptions, and D3 isn't one.
