I think there are going to be casual players that put a lot of extra time and effort into getting the stash space and maybe fail. Because of this, I wouldn't be surprised if they lowered the requirement down to finishing Destroyer (instead of Conqueror).
I'm a D3 junkie so I'll get the bonuses. It's all gravy.
+1 I would also pay for more stash space... or a purple unicorn that farted rainbows if they offered it. Or maybe that taco from South Park that walks around crapping ice cream... yesh.

Demonmonger posted a message on Conqueror for stash space? Too hard for casualsPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionWow, 600 para in season is casual, and here i thought me spending around 150 hours meant I played the shit out of the game to get to that point.
LMFAO
Bitter trolls be Bitter.
For something that should be in the game anyways, demanding people to put in 100 hours or so into season is insane, and with the backlash they have taken, will likely be changed.

Funny that you mention Skorn...Quote from El Jefe
completely agree that the official forums will be nuts. sort of unavoidable if players haven't been paying attention to ptr/beta changes I guess, itemization is just so different. until ROS hits and we can outlevel current gear, things like a skorn that roll insane CHD, which can't roll anywhere near current levels in loot 2.0, will destroy the new gear that drops. break out the e-tissues.
My SC Monk has been carrying around a Skorn, and yeah, naturally on the live game, I've found it almost impossible to upgrade from. Had I used the AH to find a couple really high damage fist weapons with CHD, sockets, and other good stuff, probably would've been easy to upgrade from the Skorn, but I've been playing my Monk self-found.
Here's the thing though...on the PTR, I managed to find a 1200+ DPS Won Khim Lau...socket, big boost to Lightning skill damage, probably Dex and Vit...and a 1200+ DPS Gift of Silaria...socket, probably Dex and Vit, and I think Move Speed, that was kinda cool to have on a weapon...and between both of those, I FINALLY managed to get my damage to a high enough place to compete with my Skorn, and be a more traditional dual-wielding Monk. I was absolutely thrilled.
Ultimately, people like CHD because combining that with high enough Crit Chance, high enough Mainstat and high enough Attack Speed equal huge damage. However, if all they're worried about is getting a damage number high, raising Mainstat high enough will do almost the same thing. Crit Chance, obviously, is a little more touchy, as it procs certain skills and SHOULD be a tad harder to get. But CHD, at the end of the day, is just extra damage, and that can be acquired in other ways.
Thank goodness. -

Cool story bro, guess you didn't play the first 2 Diablo games.Quote from Seedersj
Definitely not getting it. The game is nothing but grinding, with very little interesting decisions or mechanics.
Anyways back to topic...
I'll refer to my D2 days: I gave a friend a few high end items because it's the type of items he always dreamed of having in D2. yay for trade, then he quit a week later because he had nothing else to do. I gave a friend a bunch of scraps (low/mid tier uniques and sets), we'll in a matter of a couple of months he was better geared than me because all he did was trade. After that all he wanted to do was rune runs so he could trade more... yay fun. Okay well that same friend also sent some good items my way, you know the kind I could never find. It was awesome of amazing for about a day then everything became even more boring since I had nothing else to do except mess around in PvP.
TL;DR don't care that BOA high end legendary trading is gone, self found for the win. -

Hans posted a message on Why I am (not) buying the expansionI am getting it since the AH will be gone, Loot 2.0 makes great strides for gear and opens up more build opportunities. I feel RoS will do more for DIII than LoD did to DII, But then again DII did not need as much help as DIII.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I think it is mostly the people that were using DIII as a money earner are up in arms. -

shaggy posted a message on Why I am (not) buying the expansionI'm not buying it because I disagree with no trading. Period. And I feel strongly enough about it that I will vote with my wallet.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
It's not that I think 100% unmitigated trading doesn't have it's downsides, because it does. It's more that I completely disagree with the "well we can never balance it" line of bullshit that Josh has resorted to time after time. Every other ARPG of consequence has open trading so it's clearly not impossible. It's just that Blizzard doesn't want to do it. There's a huge difference between "can't" and "won't" and despite them continuing to say "we can't" in my heart I know it's a matter of "we won't."
And, for that, they just don't get my $40.
It's not really that I need to trade. But I need to see a big, triple-A studio trying to have middle-ground solutions that please as many people as possible and not swing from extreme to extreme (AH-fueled super-trading to next-to-no trading in the course of a single patch). That kind of extreme pendulum swinging just doesn't make me feel comfortable about the future of the game. I applaud them for being willing to go to extremes, but they had to know that there were better solutions to this problem (better item sinks, binding on stuff like enchant/transmorgify, etc.) which were completely missing in the "AH era" furthered by the fact that 99% of the items that dropped in vanilla were completely worthless which meant that GOOD items never, ever, had to be sacrificed for crafting purposes.
To act like it was *just* the AH (or just a function of trading) is simply not understanding the scope of the problem. -

daisychopper posted a message on 2X Legendary Droprate
For what it's worth, he says the Kadala nerf is just temporary until they solve the split-farming problem. Did they say somewhere that they were thinking of increasing it between 50% and 100% from where it was? I think all the complaining did was convince them to test down from the maximum range instead of up from the minimum range.Quote from shaggy
They doubled the drop rates, but reduced the chance of getting a legendary from gambling. -

Lenekk posted a message on 2X Legendary DroprateTravis Day just announced that they will be doubling the droprate of legendaries in an upcoming hotfix: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/11307900907?page=23#451 Hey folks I'm back with some clarifications and some news that should please everyone.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
First the clarification, the timer system that works behind the scenes is meant to be exactly that, behind the scenes. No you can't afk the system, there are a lot of moving pieces to it and we talked about it extensively before we implemented it to guarantee its not exploitable. At it's heart Diablo is a game about slaughtering demons and getting random cool rewards. The system that is in place should never be experienced by 99% of the population, it's there for the 1% who just get really bad random rolls for an excessively long period of time. If we want you to get a legendary every 2 hours, the system basically says "ok it's been like double/triple that period of time, just help the guy out!"
Second and more importantly. I'm in the process of working up another hotfix for the beta that will do 2 things.
1. Reduce the chance for Kadala to give legendary items. We have a lot of solutions to the split farming problem but they are going to take a little time to be put in place and in the mean time we don't want peoples feedback to be completely skewed based on her rewards. This reduction will be revisited once we fix all the split farming issues.
2. Double the legendary drop rate. Your feedback hasn't been falling on deaf ears, and much discussion and deliberation has gone into it. We know that drop rates aren't exactly where we want them right now and it's very important to us to get as much feedback as possible during our beta. We are going to adjust the legendary drop rates via hotfix so that you guys have as much time as possible to test and give us feedback on how the changes feel, also more time for us to compile data and get RoS to be the best it can be. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I think that meeting he was walking into when he posted went something like this... "jesus, just double or triple the drop rate so they'll shut up for a few days while we figure out where we want this thing." Sometimes I think they cripple themselves listening to too much feedback when the spectrum of people who play this game is so huge. That said, I'm gonna go find me a heap of legs before they nerf it again.

wow, it took 6 pages to finally find the right answer. while it certainly is a nerf, this wasn't the skill balance patch. the skill wasn't performing as intended, so they fixed it. once they've got all the skills working correctly, they can actually get down to balancing them.
