So much time and money wasted on ticking boxes instead of creating content. The vast majority of users could not care less (still buying and using Blizzard games and Merch). So all this focus should have just been dealt with internally (same as 99% of businesses already do).

Leadership team is mostly women, ticked the boxes for other racial profiles. Wonder if they also tick the boxes for sexual identity and if any are disabled?. If so then it is almost perfect, shame that meeting diversity targets and appeasing snowflakes is a bigger priority than producing decent games.
Society and technology moved so fast this last century due to the best person getting the best jobs. Now it is, we would love to employ you but we need someone to fulfil our diversity requirement. There has been a slowdown in technological advancement, I believe it will only get worse as people are picked to meet targets. I feel more and more disassociated with society, i watch TV adverts and can now notice how they try and fit as many stereotypes as they can into it, again box ticking.

I found the drop rates for the ethereals at max level far too low to make it "fun". I stopped playing after 3 weeks, yeah i could have gamed them at low levels but where was the fun in doing that.

Hmm,
I bought the game and played the beta. I was so stoked after watching the cinematic, so many memories came flooding back. So many hours i spent on the game and when i saw what the graphics looked like before the changes it was kind of shocking. Become so used to amazing graphics now and had forgotten how bad graphics used to be (obviously due to what was available at the time).
The graphical upgrade on it was very good but i wish they could have smoothed out some of the animations, they are still jerky. I played for about 20 hours or so and the bottom line was that i just didn't feel it anymore for the game. I guess i wanted to recreate the magic that happened so many years ago and thats an impossible thing to ask for. That is not the fault of the dev's.
I refunded the game as i realised i have moved on and would rather wait for D4. I wish all those that do play have a great time

I am sorry to knock you off your pedestal but you really don't speak for the Diablo community. As an older gamer i remember the original games with great nostalgia, they were amazing but the world has moved on. D3 was a good game it just lacked replayability for me. D4 could be very good, it is way too soon to see, I quite like some of their concepts and want to see how they flesh out.
By all means have an opinion, but remember there are many people out there with different opinions, maybe better feedback is to say what you personally don't like. As to making games scary, it is hard now in a world when scary has become the new normal. I remember playing Doom when it came out as a younger man and boy that scared me to death, I also remember resident evil as well and how that also scared me too. I would love to recreate those feelings but it is hard to keep people scared in this type of game, you can enjoy it's dark lore, graphics, music etc but in my opinion no Diablo game was ever scary, fantastic games they were though.

I am just grateful of the support and the extra things they are doing for us. I must have had my moneys worth out of this game a 1000 times over.
People get too negative, bought this game and expansion for less than the cost of a good meal at a restaurant
I really can't wait for D4, love this franchise.

The sad thing is that you could have just scrolled on by instead of being "that guy", the one who surrounds themselves in negativity and can no longer appreciate the small things in life that make us human. If you are not too far gone, i hope you think on this.

No, I don't think it is a better game than D3, the one big thing POE has is more depth. That does not make it a better game, for some replayability is key to a great game, for others it is the actual gameplay, graphics & story or a multitude of other things.
For me D3 will be looked at with a great deal of fondness by people in years to come, it just lacked depth. I think they did not invest enough resources into endgame. Hoping that D4 is dark and from what i have seen so far looks great.

Funny reading this how many push for D4 to be like D2, just go play D2 resurrected?
For D4 it needs to be able to stand up in it's own right, the combat and QoL from D3 was a step forward and it needs to go further next time. The game should be darker than D3 but the most important thing is the endgame.
If you look at other games (like POE) you will see that even though dungeon crawlers are all about the loot at end game you still need variety in methods of obtaining it with regular content drops. Seasons were a good idea but most of them were pretty poor and i would not class it as new content just enhancing existing.
Really looking forward to D4, no matter what i will buy it and no doubt have tons of fun and easily get good value for money.

I think that D3 was a great game, the issue was content not being brought into the game for far too long. Mistakes were made but D3 improved over time and then was left to stagnate with seasons the only reason to keep playing. POE was not as successful in sales of games but it has far more longevity due to adding better and more new content constantly. Even in POE you have many of the same issues that plague all RPG's which is re-playability. Sure you can play through over and over as new class specc/role but even that will become stale after a while. I think modern gamers now are different than older gamers like me, they tend to consume games quicker and move on quicker. I still play some games many, many years after i first played but if i am honest do i really enjoy it or is it just me wishing to recapture those bygone times.
I think in this modern world you will never create anything that will get 100% approval or keep people constantly playing the same game for years like we used to, and to be honest that is a good thing. A lot of the time we played those same games over and over not because they were amazing (though some were) it was due to a lack of choice or other decent options. Now there are tons of aRPG titles you can play and more coming, once you have so many to choose from why would you play just one? I think developers understand this, they will tap into nostalgia to create revenue but gamers are far more fickle now and will move on far quicker. Just look at POE at how quickly the numbers drop after just a month of new content dropping.
My hope for D4 is not a D2 clone, we have D2 Resurrected for that, i want something new and engaging. I want something darker like Diablo used to be and from what i have seen so far it looks interesting. I can bet one thing i am confident of though, no matter what millions will buy it and play it and when games are successful it means other companies strive to create other new and exciting games too, which can only be good for all gamers.
