It only scored an 88 on Metacritic for instance. And 8.5 on Gamespot.

Those are pretty good scores, you know?

I don't get it, why do people think that those scores matter? What matters is the user score, that is the most accurate measure of the game's status. The sad thing is that the user score for Diablo 3 is 4.1 on metacritic, compared to the critic score that is 88. Critic score is based on shallow criteria. Sure the game is fun in the beginning. But Diablo is a game that is meant to be replayed over and over, kind of like Diablo 2/LOD was and that is where the USERS of the game have the final say of the quality of the end-product.

Face it, Diablo 3 is a mediocre game. And I do agree with the OP +1. Just get the refund, the only way blizzard will learn anything.

You do know that user scores are bullshit right? Sites like 4chan and various other troll sites encourge their users to actively post bad reviews of video games. Case in point, Mass Effect 3.

Saying to judge a game based on metacritic's or actually any site's user reviews is just a sign of your naivety.

Excuses excuses. Just read some of those reviews from casual users, many differ in their gripes but overall end up in that the game is mediocre. Have you visited the official Diablo 3 forums lately? Endless 'this is boring', 'I want a refund', 'how to get a refund', 'why Diablo is a flop' threads nonestop. It is evident, you can't make this shit up. And look at these forums, lower number of such threads but still. Case and point here. The game is fine for first run or two at most, but then it's meh. But it is SURE AS HELL not a Dibalo 2 killer, anyone who thinks that is mentally challenged or has never played Diablo 2/LOD.

    Edit:
How is that naive? Users are the ones that give the most blatant and raw reviews, they say what they feel openly and when it is the majority it usually means a whole lot, generally it is unbiased. You actually trusting the reviews of the official critics is what really makes you the naive one. Like I said, they base their score on shallow criteria: Graphics(In a conventional sense), initial gameplay mechanics etc, not the end game. They don't delve deep into it. And most probably never even played Diablo 2/LOD.

The majority of the bad 'reviews' came during the shaky launch.

So why didn't the score improve since then? Instead it fell even more. Actually it never improved.

Because you would need way too many people to counteract the crazy amount of zeros spammed on that site.

I assume you're talking about dashing strike, and that's working as intended. To go far, you have to use it on an enemy or breakable thing.

Like in Diablo 2, higher difficulties mean larger maps, I didnt pay enough atention in Diablo 3, are the maps also bigger?

I'm pretty sure that's only for some very specific dungeons in D2.

posted a message on Dodge not working as intended?
    Quote from RohenDar

NO, it should not be like this.

Berserkers stack Strength as their main stat: it gives them armor which reduces ALL dmg: melee, spells, AOE on floor.

Casters stack Intelligence as their main stat: it gives them resistances (including fysical) which reduce ALL dmg: melee, spells AOE on floor.

Monks and Demon Hunters stack Dexterity as their main stat: it gives them dodge which DOESN'T reduce ALL dmg: it dodges melee, ranged spells, but NOT aoe on floor.

How in the flaming hell do you think this is fair ?

Well, dodge is a chance at a 100% reduction. It isn't quite comparable to a percentage based reduction.

I'm a little worried, with the way the game is extremely linear/story-driven. Does every time you play the game force you to listen and watch cinematics or can you just farm items like in d2?

I haven't beat normal yet, so I wanted to see anyone that is on nightmare how they feel about playing the same content over again.

D2 was just as linear as D3.

I'd be interested to see perfect/near perfect rolls of rares and how they stack up to the legendaries/sets.

Are they intending those rares to be as powerfull if not > than some legendaries or is the game going to be about the legendary hunt?

Really good rares are supposed to compete with legendaries, but it will be super hard to get one.

    Uniques:
    128 Pieces of armour
    117 Weapons

    Sets:
    63 Pieces of armour
    18 Weapons

    I'd say that's a lot.

    Quote from SnowBro191

    Quote from Zic

These are datamined from the full game, right? I'm really surprised to see bare nipples in there.

You must not have played D1 or D2 very much as both games had monsters with bare nipples. The Succubi in D1 are the monsters that stand out the most to me looking back at the game. Probably because I was like 10 years old half naked demon's made an impression on me. I hope they bring back the same shrieking death sound that they had in D1.

I'm not surprised that there are nipples in the Diablo franchise, I'm surprised that Blizzard put them into D3.

Hope that cow level is a troll attempt because those models look like complete dog shit. Also it is a pretty big slap to the face and a disgrace to Diablo series to have ponies and pink bears in the secret level.

Keep in mind that this is a preview from an early beta of a model viewer, models will look much better in game and aren't even designed to be displayed in full screen outside of the game in the first place.
Don't you dare lecture me on READING! Yea my bad, just saw the ponies and the pink bears and went a little overboard haha.

It is what it is, can't be worse then the chicken level in Dungeon Siege. I just wanted a more traditional Cow level, yea it was goofy but it wasn't a slap to the face of some of the community. Just because we wanted a darker looking Diablo doesn't mean we should get poked at and make a joke of by the developer with retarded shirts or this garbage invading the game. It just reminds me of the kids who say "YOU MAD?". Yes Blizzard, I am mad.

Good, it's meant to poke fun at people who whine about the game being too light. Get over it. The cow level in D2 had cows, upright, saying moo monotonously. It was silly shit.
