I primarily run this build for T13 speed runs and bounties and it's surprisingly just as
fast as my chicken build with Arachyr. I run a variation of this build for GR90+ groups
as well with no augments and under 800 paragon. With some tweaks you
can adjust the runes and passives for GR pushing. "Speed" builds in
general have little to no defensives. For a GR push build you will need more defensives.
How to Play:
The first thing you want to do is get your 10 stacks from Soul Harvest
to proc your damage reduction from your bracers. After that, you just
kill things. There's really no rotation. You just use the other skills
for more speed but I'm sure you'll figure out a decent rotation that
works for you.
Zombie Dogs are for more damage reduction. You can either go with Life Link or Leeching Beasts. Both work fine. Zombie Dogs proc your Mojo as well.
Enjoy this build! It took me a ton of farming to get certain pieces
in Ancient. That's probably the only challenging thing about LoN builds.
It's not a "beginner" or "starter" set because the pieces required have
to be Ancient unless you just have lucky RNG. You won't see this build
perform well until you have at least 8 Ancients equipped but once you do it's pretty amazing.
So, I've been doing a lot of testing with WD LoN. Spirit Barrage LoN was kind of lacking. I finally devised one that's speed T13 viable (just as fast as a chicken build without the chicken lol) and with some minor tweaks high GR group play viable GR100+. I will write the guide tonight. Stay tuned for another awesome Fullbringer build!
Since the new 2.6.4 Patch and the many changes to set bonuses, I'm sure many players will be looking for a Seeker of Light build aka "Hammerdin". The set bonus was buffed from 2000% to 12000%. After some tests, this build is now superior to the standard Condemn build that everyone has adopted the past couple seasons.
This is a solo build and not meant for group play. Unity is needed for survivability for this build.
How to Play:
You want to lead with Falling Sword because that's where your burst damage comes from. You can do one of two things depending on density or if there are elites.
If there are no elites you can gather some trash mobs by circling around them so that they are centered. You want to jump right into the center with Falling Sword and channel Blessed Hammer while using your defensive buffs whenever they are up. I would save Akarat's Champion for elite packs.
If there is an Elite pack then just focus on the elite. Use Falling Sword right on top of the elite and channel Blessed Hammer. Pop Akarat's Champion + Provoke + Laws of Hope. Lead with Falling Sword every time it's off CD and keep your defensives up as much as possible.
If you're low on Wrath then use Justice to replenish your resource.
Rinse and Repeat.
Edit: This build is actually viable with zmonk to provide heals/damage mitigation while stationery. You would switch out Unity with CoE or Obsidian Ring depending on what's cubed.
D3 is dead. Makes no money. They're going mobile to make money. They don't care about the old player base because we've been playing for free for years. All they care about is money, obviously. They want a consistent revenue stream because you don't need a monthly sub for D3. No doubt in my mind that they will add currency like all mobile games that you can buy with $. They'll probably add cosmetic items as well. If they are successful in that then I don't expect them to put any focus in D3 for PC. Why would they put in tons of man hours for something that doesn't make money?
It's 2018 and all of the best games are free right now but they all sell cosmetic items. They all make tons of money. Paladins has like 30 million players? They are on every console now. I think they blew Overwatch out of the water. Fortnite has been dominating the video game realm. PoE, LoL, DoTa, Quake Champions, etc. All of these games are free to play and has millions of players playing them. Blizzard has fallen way behind since 2014 or so. I'm sure everyone has noticed it. They seem desperate. Going mobile was desperate. Making Destiny 2 free this month was another desperate move. It's crazy to think that Blizzard could go out of business but they can't even keep up with all of the free games I mentioned. Just look at the development. D3 hasn't had new skins in how many years? 5? WoW is on the same boat. They just recolor old skins every expansion. Look at all these other games. All the time spent in creating beautiful models and skins while everyone says the same thing about Blizz devs... they're either lazy or just don't care anymore.
Makes you wonder why they call it a "Challenge Rift".
btw, if you don't know how they get Challege Rift builds, I suggest you look it up. They basically snap shot a player's build that has already cleared that tier with that specific build.
AS isn't about Skeletal Mages. AS is about stacking crit for Corpse Lance - Brittle. I hope that helps. With that said, you don't want AS for a Mage build.
I don't need to because someone else already has. If I had the paragon I would but I don't. Look at NS leaderboards. At solo GR124, the player is running Trag. That proves a lot. It proves that Seasonal are just bandwagoners. Like, I've always said and noticed about D3 players. They just follow the crowd regardless of what's actually better. This happens every single season. They push with the set that the streamers push for the season. It's always like that.
I'm not saying that Trag is 100% the best build to go with but obviously it's very competitive if the TOP player in the world runs Trag for NS.
That's why it's a little disappointing that so many players out there just run Pest. A lot of them I know never even tried Trag. They just push what's FOTM. This is the typical mindset of Seasonal players.
I run Trag and I've been running it a very long time. I'm currently in the the top 500 for seasonal leaderboards (I might have dropped a bit just writing this post)... I'm the ONLY Trag build in the top 500. I run a lot of public games with Pest players while I'm running Trag. They actually can't even keep up with me. They just die and die and die. Using Pest sets them back because they are more squishy and can't skip as much as I can. So, I'm always carrying Pest builds with my Trag build. What I mean by "carry" is that I'm killing all the elites and skipping ahead while they are stuck dying who knows where.
Here lies the problem. Players run pest because it became the trend. I can't say it's better. I honestly think Trag is better for pushing. Will any of you even know that? Probably, not because you just copy and paste the top players on leaderboards. I guarantee you this... if players on top were running Trag, then YOU would be running Trag and that's part of why I dislike how D3 works. It's not based on what's better, it's based on popularity. I remember last season the top #1 player ran Trag at like 121 solo and like 999 players under him were Pest. Ty streamers for brainwashing every player to think that Pest is the holy bible but it's not. It's indeed competitive but Trag can out-perform Pest because of survivablity.
I developed this build because I don't think any Pest gear is mandatory for a zNecro. This build is purely to fuel the Rat dps with more health globes. It uses NO Corpse Lance. Every skill generates more corpses to spawn more health globes. You spam Devour during LOTD. No need to try to spam 2 skills if you were to have Corpse Lance. I was running this very smoothly in GR95 Rat runs.
Please try out this build and let me know what you think. I have a good feeling that this build can push higher than the "standard" zNecro Pest build because of the survivability of Trag'Oul's and the big boost in health globe generation in between elites. Thanks!
Like most of us, bounties can be painful to farm especially if you're using a slow build and have to travel across entire maps to get to a boss. I've tested a few builds online but they were lacking in a few areas imo.
I finally came up with this variant with the Bones of Rathma Set. The great thing about this build is that you don't need to change much if you already have a Rat dps build which focuses on CDR. CDR is great for this build as well because it gives you more Blood Rush to proc Steuart's Greaves and more Bone Armor usage for Harvest of Anguish. Bone Armor procs Lost Time as well. Even so, this build isn't CDR dependent at all. You could optimize for damage and replace CDR with damage stats if you don't need a Rat dps build.
There were 3 main things I was looking for in order for the build to be efficient for farming bounties:
1. Speed
2. Damage
3. Survivability
This build has a good balance of all 3 requirements. It's super fast, melts monsters, and not squishy.
The only skill that's optional here is Simalicrum. You can switch that out for Command Skeletons or Frailty. It doesn't make a huge difference. The build will still be fine with nothing in that slot.
I used a generator build for quite awhile, since last year. This season I decided to create a build with no generator since it's very rare to see one. I only have about a 2 second gap between SSS.
