Diablo 3 vet looking for some new eyes on this. Nintendo Switch version.
Playing with a new person whose never played the game before. What class would you recommend this season? I say Monk, DH, and Crus. Not Barb or WD due to their higher skill play, and not Wiz due to the seasonal free armor this time around. Leaning towards Monk for her to speed up to 70 and beyond with a lucky drop/gamble from the boots.
Also, I can't test yet, but can seasonal be played offline once a new character is made with the initial connection?
Thank you all! (not you)
EDIT: I'm experienced in all classes, I'll go with whatever is recommended!
Is there an estimated date for when the new season starts?
Hey fellow Switch player! I don't know my Nintendo friend Id right now, but up to play? I'll be bouncing between Destiny 2 and Diablo 3 for the next few weeks.
I know this isn't the spot to submit, but eh, why not for discussion?
Where the Hell is my man Inarius? Last I knew of him was from the Diablo 1 manual:
He was cocky and attacked a shrine/church for Mephisto in the old days. Mephisto was pissed:
The other question is what about the power distribution in the Diablo universe? Originally it was 50% Heaven, 50% Hell. Nephalem creation threw that way off. Diablo 1 and 2 seemed more like a 49.5% Hell, 49.5% Heaven, 1% Sanctuary/Human. World Stone gone, the prequel books release, and the ending of D3 left Tyrael worried......
Thanks for sharing! This is actually my #1 concern for Immortal, the lore. Still need more context, however it's looking good.
Side comment, sad to see all the down votes on the links. Seems like this game is great from the early impressions. I left Dii.net to join here because it was horrible and toxic over there (Still love Flux!).
This is amazing! You guys rock!
Honestly, this beats even Rhykker level info videos.

Appreciate the update, we very much enjoy seeing the progress and getting a sneak peak what has been happening behind the scenes.
This post will probably never be seen, but one thing that would be nice to at have at least be discussed, is the players ability to zoom out a bit more than what is shown in the current game-play footage of D4. Many of us prefer to zoom out a bit more than what is currently shown on D4, and D3, and it is a very common complaint on PoE. This option would great for many players.
Thank you
They can only set a maximum zoom out distance and allow for zoom in. The reason is that if you allow players to zoom out even more you create the problem of mob aggro and shooting at them outside their engagement distance. The same problem appears in all isometric arpg. If you zoom out more you also have to modify the enemy engagement range in order to have a fair game. And that's not worth it . You zoom out and then what? Cluster fucks of mobs will enrage from across a large area and go out at you at once while you at the same time can overkill them or not . It's not fun after a while. You loose the visual details not to mention. What's next? Getting rid of visuals alltogheter and just play a input based game where you give commands like in chess board games and let the game autoresolve the movements. There is a reason why you set some limits to these things
I figured I would also chime in and add to the conversation about zooming out the camera. Personally, I prefer a camera that is zoomed out a tiny bit more; however, outside of the issues with readability and aggro distance, you also run into massive performance issues. For every little bit that the camera zooms out, you are adding a significant amount of extra information on the screen for the PC or Console to render. For modern PC's this would be of little consequence, but you would have fairly significant performance hits for the current generation of consoles and older PC's.
I too would like to chime in. They mentioned for D3 that zooming in and out would be weird given how the isometric perspective is. The characters in D3 are not standing perpendicular to the ground, but a rather strange angle to give the appearance of standing up straight. Zooming in and out would alter the design they did to give the levels/characters their perception of depth. Other games have done well with this feature, maybe it's not a concern for now.
I wonder if they're done with isometric ARPGs or if they'll do that "Witcher/Destiny 3rd person" leak.... Either way, I'm confident they'll deliver.
Ahhhhh! Overload!!! Nice..... Very nice.....
Can you give specifics? Just curious about PoE. Tried it on the PS4, but it felt like a waste.

I'm very much looking forward to that Season 18 theme, and the new host of items will open up a significant amount of builds since each class can use them!
It's almost scary... Gotta love it though. Can't wait for a buff to get to level 70 HC!
True, but there were rumors of it being a Witcher 3 like game before. I could be down for that.
BTW, D3 on consoles is what saved it for me. Every new season, there's a new build to try. It's just so natural on PS4, but I understand some prefer PC. Can't we have both
This site is the best (aside from DiabloFans): http://d3resource.com/
http://d3resource.com/difficulties/ the different tiers of difficulty and exact numbers for drop rates, monster damage and health, key drop rates, number of keys, ect.
http://d3resource.com/critcalc/ More numbers.... I like numbers.
https://www.d3planner.com/game/55430/kadala Use this to gamble legendaries at lower difficulties. Such as the mage ring for necros (farm it with blood shards below level 30).
Looking at the last bit, I think Imperius is staying good and with us (Sanctuary). I believe he sees that power that the nephalem hold and is somewhat worried about it. but, I also believe he will see how things go under a watchful eye. If another nephalem comes with evil intentions, then he may interfere, but only with the D3 hero.
I'm glad they scrapped the original opening for RoS. In it, it shows Malthael taking the Black Soulstone with Imperius's help through his hatred and thoughts of betrayal of Tyrael stealing the stone from Heaven. He's character is too unique to follow along the Diablo franchise theme of being tainted and turned good to evil. he'll be a strong and important character/ally in the future Diablo universe.
Also, isn't Tyrael still part of the Angrius Council? He's mortal now and is a member as of Vanilla's release. Did RoS change that?
About the first part. I'm sure there are readers who don't know about "Diablo: Wraith". Here's a link for those fans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEAPxgMCEA8

Oooooh I had some luck last night. Speeding through with another (finally had a group of 3!), I found a rare set of gloves and boots. Both had mf 23/24 and resis with the boots having fast walk/run. Good for me necro. Also found another piece of Artic, belt, good to see on your list.

Hey, so I figured I woul just make a Switch thread. I've been trying to play with other randos/blue berries for awhile now. Only once was I in a group with another player, just once with a single player. Maybe with this we can get some rushes or make friends. For some reason, this game is so much fun with others on the console.
I've got an Act 1 NM necro summoner going, a Act 1 Normal fire druid, and want to start a new werewolf druid. All down just to get to the high level of to final start some serious farming. Maybe this can be the mega thread for everyone on the system just to match up and do whatever.

This is fantastic good sir/lady.

What's your NIN ID?
PM me. I've been working on a SC necro for abit (T12?). Already have a DH speed running T16. Kinda want to run the anniversary stuff with someone. I'm only on once a week btw.

I like it. Gives the "true Terror" feel of Diablo him/herself. Maybe some color or distortion around the corners to blend in.
Awesome job!

Bump! Hope this helps ya brother/sista.

Makes sense, but I kinda disagree. It's cool treat because it gives you an insane amount of xp. People would farm the crap out of it. That's for the cow rift.
The cow cube level is different, not as much exp, but holy-Hell it gives you loot with all the chests.

Just want to chime in as a console player. Massive Diablo fan. Played D3 from the start and am ashamed at the hours I've put it in and how you can see it online. I should have finished a Masters or PHD in that time..... maybe 2.
When consoles came out, got hooked again. Necro again hooked. Seasons again. This season has me really going for abnormal builds with all the new additions. PS4 HC.
Anyways, awesome numbers and graphs! Would love to see more specific numbers, but this is really cool seeing that D3 is still very much alive.

HC? PS4?

Awesome! Loved the wallpapers, even the Immortal ones. The early reveals with the blue ice was probably the most exciting thing to Diablo until the reveal trailers.
Can't wait to try the new game and see if Blizzard have kept their standards up, even if people won't be willing to admit it. Good? Bad? We'll find out soon enough. Now I just need to get a new phone and wait for Diablo 4....

The builds section is just amazing.
Loved the lore articles the most, there's alot going on especially with RoS.

Exactly this!

The layoffs are mostly PR and advertising/public works. It's not a big cut to anything Diablo programmer wise, but HotS took a big hit.
EDIT: It's kinda a "healthy" cut back. It's not core people. Activision takes care of most of the marketing.

HC? SC? Seasonal? I can do HC and HC seasonal in 2 days.

Agreed. The new seasonal buff is a great addition that can effect builds quite heavily. The updated set bonuses are amazing aswell. LoN buff should hopefully bring out new builds.
