posted a message on Expert Knowledge Needed: Damage Bonus of Strongarm Bracers vs. Magefist in cube

I hadn't thought of the larger mob resistance to the SB buff, so that makes for an interesting consideration. With the SB, I might be able to reach the Guardian a little quicker, but then dispensing of him will be slower. I am thinking Magefist sounds like the most consistent choice. Thank you for the advice, and anyone else who feels like weighing in, I am always happy to hear wise thoughts.

posted a message on Expert Knowledge Needed: Damage Bonus of Strongarm Bracers vs. Magefist in cube

Quick question. I know different items boost damage differently, additive vs multiplicative, but that information sadly isn't provided in the item information. How do the bonuses of the Strongarm Bracers compare to the bonus of Magefist? If my build is entirely Fire damage and every ability that does damage procs the SB, which one is best to use in the cube? Thanks.

posted a message on Quick question regarding Primals

It is worth noting that the higher the level, the greater the chance of one dropping, but there really isn't any way to farm primals, they just don't drop frequently enough no matter what you are doing. So while running 60s will give you that chance for one, your odds increase as you increase your difficulty level. But efficiency > level. Not to worry though, no matter what class you are playing, you should have the gear to be farming 70s in no time. Just don't be surprised when you see the red outline of the primal only to realize that it is a piece that you would never use, the ultimate letdown. I have gotten a couple of pieces that I actually had as part of a build, but the stats that came on them were so bad, I couldn't use them. Nothing you can do but salvage it, at least you get something for it.

Cool note though on primals. Every roll is set at max, so enchanting and re-enchanting them is super easy. I had a primal String of Ears drop while on my wizard, and I logged in with my Barb and enchanted it to replace the Int that came on it over to Str, and it is one badass piece. And if I had the use for it on my wizard, I could just enchant it again and put the Int back on it. That is definitely a huge plus to getting a useful Primal.

posted a message on AS vs Area Damage for Seismic Slam Barb build

Awesome suggestions, I hadn't thought of taking the BoW rings off after someone else suggested them since the build is all about a generator and spender, so it seemed like an obvious selection.

I have always been a huge fan of builds that utilize the Hellfire amulets since it allows for an additional passive, and this build kind of needs it with the dependence on No Escape for that bonus. I had tried the build earlier with CoE but it wasn't as consistent as the R and F set, and didn't add up statistically either.

I have the lut socks for 3 reasons - 1. mobility, 2. making the range to make use of Zei's, and most importantly, 3. generating enough fury to do enough damage before leaping again. Cindercoat increases fire 20%, but if I was going to move things around, wouldn't it be better to cube the Strongarm Bracers for the 30% bonus since Seismic Slam procs the bonus? Correct me if I am wrong, or if one bonus is additive and the other is multiplicative, but if that were the case, I feel like SB would be better than Cindercoat.

I am definitely going to try bloodshed, I don't have a form of recovery besides the Ploughshares rune, but it is worth seeing how durable I am without it. Who knows, maybe that is the difference that pushes me over the 100 mark. Thanks for the ideas.

posted a message on AS vs Area Damage for Seismic Slam Barb build

I have modified the Leapquake build to be predominantly Seismic Slam using a pair of primal Istvan's Blades. The leapquake build lists Area Damage as more important than Attack Speed, but I was wondering if that still holds true for a build that has Seismic Slam accounting for probably 90% of my total damage. I have cleared GR97 and am pushing for 100, just for the personal satisfaction of it all, and I would like some expert advice and feedback.

This is the build, for those interested in the specifics. Thanks!

Is this an issue for everyone? Or is it just happening to me? I didn't see any other posts about it so I wasn't sure if it was specific to my account or if it is more widespread. Thanks again.

posted a message on "MY BUILD/POST/THREAD DISAPPEARED" - report in here please!

Perhaps this is where to report this.

I first noticed that I cannot access any of the 3 builds I made. I get this message when I click on all 3:

    Not found

We were unable to find the page or file you were looking for.

Furthermore, at the top right where my profile name usually is, the label changes to "Avatar". This has been happening for over a week now. I have been excited to post a variation to one of mine, so I decided to just try to create a new build since it is a different style, and when I went to select my gear on the build screen, I didn't even get the drop-down window where you can select the gear from. Finally, I tried just selecting someone else's build, and I get the same message from above. So now I am unable to view any builds. Am I doing something wrong here? Obviously I can still play but I like being able to share with others, and get feedback, learn from others, and I cannot do any of this. Please advise, and thank you for the help.

Krole you speak the truth, although I would prefer to think that someone is sitting somewhere messing with me. Last night I went through about 50 upgrades to 1H flails, not many I know but still went through over 1000 DBs, and wouldn't you know it, I got an ancient to 6 out of the 7!!! But like I said, someone is sitting there looking at my gear and wants me to play just a little while longer because the 1 out of 7 that wasn't ancient was my Argument. Eh, so I have to play a little longer, just makes it sweeter when it drops I guess. I would personally rather it be a rift drop, just seems to be more satisfying that way, but at this point I will really take any!

Thank you for the clarity and detail. My quick return question is about this part

    "and running 75's still gives you a 1% chance to 90. 70's have a 0% chance. "

Sorry for the confusion, but I don't recognize the figures you are using. What is the 1% on a 75 GRift that is a 0% on the 70? Everything else, awesome, I appreciate the info.

He probably mean if you doing greater rift 75 you have 1% chance to upgrade a lv90 gem

That must be it. Thanks, that one was making me wonder. Although now I am a little in awe that people play enough to be leveling their augment gems up as well as their main gems and they are trying to upgrade it with a 1% chance. When it drops below 30% I can't rationalize doing it on a run with only 3 shots. I have had Urshi deny me 3 times in a row at 70%!

At least I know that at the level I'm farming, it's possible. Patience is tough but at this point it really comes down to that ancient Johanna's. Definitely don't think I'm up for the gamble of almost 2,000 DBs. I could get them, I'd just really like to think that it will drop before then!

Funny thing, I feel like when I'm specced as my Hammerdin, that's when my other spec gear drops. I'm sure it's just coincidence, but when I'm invoker, akkhan's drops, when I'm Hammer, Roland's drops, etc. Probably just stupid coincidence, but at least I like all my specs. Just really wish Blessed Shield wasn't so damn squishy cause it's so damn fun!

"So what if I turn down the difficulty, and run at 3-4 minutes?" That's always possible, but then you're averaging approx 18 Grifts per hour, but without the increased experience and drop chances. Also, that's a lot of keys to burn in an hour. Lowers your overall gem levels as well, as 1% does happen, and running 75's still gives you a 1% chance to 90. 70's have a 0% chance. It's all about finding that balance, and making it work for you instead of against you.

Sorry, just figured out the whole quote the quote bit. This part. Thanks.
And thanks to the rest of the responses. I just enjoy hearing other people's experiences, helps me figure out better strategies. I had to laugh at myself, the other primal drop I got that night was the Guard of Johanna, and I almost lost my shit when I saw the name that popped up because my highest performing spec is Hammerdin, so of course, I was stoked. And the rolls were worse than on the regular legendary that I still had sitting in my bag. I couldn't believe it, and no matter what one stat I change, the shield is still remarkably worse than the decent ancient I got. The only thing holding me back from getting up to a solid run at 90 is the ancient, decently rolled Johanna's Argument, which doesn't seem to exist in my world of Diablo.

Every post on this topic seems to have the same opinion, "farm whatever level you can finish in under 5 minutes". I have a different question.

I want ancients, and the possibility of primals. I keep seeing videos for the +1000 paragon players (and some way above that) who have their BiS gear with every stat they want, not the gear that I somehow keep seeing where it is the piece but with shit stats, and what I want to know is what GRs did you players farm to get your perfectly rolled gear? I am farming 65 in about 4-5 minutes with my LoN Bomber (unless I get those damn caves) and I just want to know if this is high enough to consistently be able to expect those pieces to drop for me, in time of course. I know it's random chance and all of that, but I just had to ask. Thanks all.

posted a message on Templar BiS Weapon

I am by no means a hardcore player, but all of my playing (up to this point) has been solo. One day I will try grouping and probably love it, but for now it has all been what can I achieve alone? Yesterday I got 2 primals to drop within 15 minutes of each other, on the regular rift clears (which blew my mind) on T11. One of them was the Eun-Jang-Do, and let me just settle the argument between Thunderfury and Eun-Jang-Do for solo GRifting - it is EJD all day long. I kept reading about how Thunderfury helped clear it all faster, and the lightning proc this and that, but there is just no comparison between a little trash help along the way and not having to worry about any attacks for the last 20% of the RGs. I actually laughed my way through the Guardian fights for my first 82 and 83 clears because my follower's weapon proc kept the boss frozen after 20% health. I made myself stop and just watch him frozen for a good 10 seconds and smile.

So for those solo artists out there looking for a very very nice bump in GRift leveling, trust me, it's Eun-Jang-Do. I had a gorgeous ancient Thunderfury paired with an ancient Wyrdward and...if you can't get through the trash to get to the RG in time by the end of your rift, then you aren't beating him in time either, so go with EJD and laugh with me.
