yeah...this tool is useless. according to it my optimal is MP2. too bad I'm doing MP8 with some difficulties and MP7 on farm

    Post your account.

I find the tool to have some use, especially in regard to my HC char. It rates my Self-found HC WD @ MP2. ....right on the money. Anymore than that and I'm pushing it.

I'm not sure how to post my account but I'm on EU-servers (btag solostaran#2856 , a monk named crysania)

I was actaully looking for advice on what stats should I aim for in order to do ubers (now that I finally got enough keys) when I came across this post and this tool

    nvm. here it is

posted a message on so predictable yet so irritating
a man pays 60 Euro to be able to play a game only to find out - he can't . it seems servers are full for hours now .

all I wanted is to play the single player campaign . blizz forced everyone including single players to go online , oh well - but at least make it work!!!

people paid good money for it and have the right to play the game they bought which isn't "copy-paste the password"

I paid for that game but I do hope pirates WILL hack it for offline play and blizz would lose revenue . maybe this way they'll understand that since their games are going to be hacked either way the least they can do is ease on the legit players who only want to play in their free time .

I don't need people to teel me when I could or couldn't play . I'm not 6 years old so blizz - get your act together and make sure people do not stay out of the game they purchased!

Personally I think the whole achievement thing has been done to death. It's more of a required element in games nowadays than a "Oh look what I did" kinda thing.

I still think they're neat, little goals to do to get some cool rewards though. Also they make nice time wasters, if you're going for a tricky achievement.

It starts to head in the wrong direction when you're spending hours and hours banging your head against the wall doing some meticulous requirement though. They should be fun little things. Sure they can be tricky, but not borderline impossible.

I agree with you 100%, Aldrek. I hate meticulous achievements. They should never be used as 'elitist' fodder nd should be achievable by anyone at anytime. I hate 'exclusive' achievements, like 'be the first to do this' or 'be the first to do that'. They should be something that requires more determination than effort or random luck. With that said, if they put some crazy ones in there, I'll still probably end up trying to do them, I just wont like it! :QQ:

EDIT: On another note, I would like to see achievements associated with set items (if they are actually confirmed to be in the game. Anyone? Gosh, I hope so!) That way you could 'collect' the various sets without actually having to hold on to the darn things. With that said, I think they should only unlock when you own all pieces at once and not 'Get a piece, unlock part of the achievement, get rid of it, get another piece, etc'. In other words, you would have to actually hang on to the individual pieces till you had the whole set. Then, and only then, would the achievement unlock, you get the achievement, then you can discard, sell, trade, etc... Just my thoughts.
I don't mind crazy achievements, just as long as they don't take me a whole year to do. *cough* This *cough*

    try this one

    http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=275

    it's a 2-3 years one.

other than that I share your opinion . only achieves I don't like are those that make it mandatory to co-op or PvP to complete . individual ones are 100% fine by me because they indicate about your own PVE skills which for me is what this game is all about.

make a baby and take the night shift caring .

you can take care of your child while playing D3 late night . your wife , would either be asleep or to exausted from the day shift . profit .

I know , taking care of babies is alot of effort but unlike changing a woman's mind at least it has a chance of working :-)

posted a message on battle rage and passive skill questions
    thanks everyone.

I've decided to go with that build :

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#aZRUeS!bVX!YZcaYc

it's a lazy build with many passive dmg and dmg reduction and passive healing . basicaly it enables to bash for about 280% weapon dmg, 500% overpower and hammer og the ancients.

only offenssive CD is overpower and only spendor is hammer (not including battle rage+battle cry in idle).

hammer hitting for 414%-500% weapon dmg for merely 20 fury on a low fury consumption build is great. thanks for your help everyone.

posted a message on battle rage and passive skill questions
    hello

I've noticed that battle rage (+15% dmg and 3# crit) has no CD . can anyone confirm/dispute it's stackable ? as in . if I'll use it twice in a row I'll gain 32.3% dmg and 6.09% to crit ? or does it stay at the initial values no matter how many times you punch it ?

    also,
survivabilty wise , which one is better ? the +50% to armor and thorns or the +3% dmg done to life ?

one last question, what is the hardest hitting single target nuke for barbs and what is the reccommended one ?

posted a message on sweeping wind question
since this thread is about sweeping wind I'll aska few questions of my own :-)

    1) post patch 15 (as mentioned in the unofficial notes) does sweeping wind now a SPENDOR instead of generator ?

    2) based on same notes , can you activate SW right of the bat and use a mellee generator to refresh SW and build its stacks without the need to recast it ?

    3) assuming the answer to the last question is yes and you decide to choose inner storm for the +spirit , does as long as you hit with a mellee generator you gain 9 (6 base for the generator and 3 for the inner storm rune) spirit ?

and one last question (not SW related) , does the game have health potions/rejuv and do they have a CD like WoW does ?

    thanks for your info

    Quote from HoobaGooblin

Ok so what is the big deal with the new rune system why are people hating on it. Seriously the old rune system was going to be a huge pain in the ass. It was absolute shit in no way would it have been better than what we have now and yet what do i see people saying omg i hate this rune system its lame i wanna spend countless hours looking for runes well guess what i dont i wanna play the game not play find the rune im glad its the way it is. Its easier i dont want to have to farm runes to get the right one i wanna play the game thats all.

sorry about getting mad im just tired of people argueing that the old system was better when they never even got to play that version that is all

I'm with you on that one . with the new system you are guarnteed to unlock all runes by 60 while the former method was a grindfest with an un known drop rate and heavy RNG.

people raging about that probably like long and tidious grinds - and should go farm legenderies at WoW . especially at the 10-m bracket .

on the other hand, dante is way cooler than nero .

posted a message on Your greatest fear with D3???
+1 on the cartoonic graphic that looks too much like WoW .

also, I fear that unlike d2 , d3 won't be soloable and will require Co-op to complete on hardest difficulty. after 3 years of the WoW community I had enough "community" for a lifetime . same goes for achievments in d3 - make them as soloable as possible .

other than that I see nothing that could realy turn off my faith of passion about the upcoming game .

posted a message on Diablo II Windows 7
    Quote from Snarf

What the hell is the deal with windows 7 and Diablo II? It seems to be completely up to luck whether it works or not.

I'm trying to run it in fullscreen and I'm getting the black screen with a cursor in the corner crash. Windows 7 gives a warning saying that the game isn't compatible with it, but of couse fails to provide any useful information. And it's full of crap anyway, because I know Diablo II DOES work on Windows 7 - it was working fine on windows 7 on my last PC.

a few things you should do :

    1) make sure to download the patch and run it before you run the game

    2) make sure you run the game as administrator and probably in winXP sp2 mode

    3) just to be safe run the video test to see you're good with graphic drivers for hardware accelaration and make sure DX requirements are good .

    have fun

    Quote from Sojourna

I read the official patch notes when patch 13 went live, so I knew there were a lot of nerfs, but I didn't realize just how big until now. The cynical part of me wonders if this is their way of trying to up the difficulty of Diablo III in all its levels and/or hurt PvE in the name of PvP.

    +1.

looks like instead of tweaking difficulty they are just making it harder by nerfing, as if having abilities on CD wasn't enough . but that's another topic.

there was a change to "mystic Ally" not mentioned in the notes . formerly, both ally and the monk got a +50% to health (earth) while now this buff has reduced to 10% . (I adressed to that on previous post)

all together this patch has "nerf" written all over it .

I think fan site contests are bad for fan sites. Yeah you get a boost in people for a little bit but in the long run the weeks of heck that the regular members went through turned a few off along with the fact that most of the people only made an account for the contests wont be around. So in all honesty i think fan site contests are just not that great. I could be completely wrong but im glad these are over. I'm tired of reading silly posts ever day by someone that only wants a darn key.

you're too harsh . silly posts re being made by people with keys as well :-)

good night everyone, grats for those who won, and a small prayer for a quick release dats for the rest of us .

We were so impressed with some of the effort people put into the builds we added 10 keys to the list, which is why its taken a little longer

Didnt you say you were going to RANDOMLY choose winners, not choose people based on their builds, or the presentation of the entrys...????

I think the word you were looking for is "thank you" . these are ADDITIONAL keys so they're not reducing anyone's chance of winning . .

I just wanted clarification or just to remind them, and i did that in a reasonably manner, nothing wrong with that.

no problem . I might have over reacted...I see so many drama on all channels (twitter,FB etc.) about those keys so I made an error of judgement . (plus , it's been a crappy day so any way - I'm sorry)
