those things are going to be in the game regardless of what happens, even if they are patched a new area will come out to level... its going to happen no matter what.

i can get a char to lvl 40 in 3 - 4 hours with ease.... thats a few hours in 1 day. its not tedious, or time wasted its fun.

seth, there are plenty of other games where you can respec and not have to grind out lvls and items all the time. diablo is not one of those games. diablo is a grind game where you are rewarded for your hard work.

"Adding a respeccing option (option, you know, the thing you don't have to use if you don't want to but makes it more convenient for everyone?) will greatly lessen the need for all these Baal, Chaos, and other run games where players don't even talk to each other or strategize- they just sit in a room or follow a single powerful player around and absorb experience."

read the parenthesis, pratice what you preach plz..... now how does it feel that rushing is affecting you even tho your not using it, same way with respecing. so your arguement that if you dont like it dont use it, is flawed.

Because I feel that there are many basic game flaws and glitches in this game that have never been fixed for years, and I am fully within my rights to discuss them, because, in my opinion, fixing them makes the game better. That would be like saying "if I don't agree with everything in the game series, I'm not a fan".

you feel wrong.... there are little to no flaws in diablo 2

seems like for the most part, people who have a problem with the game are playing non-ladder where all the duping/hacking/glitching is going on.

i hate you people, ruining it for the real players.

"That's not respeccing, that's trudging through the whole game again, repeating rinsed garbage, and painstakingly redoing all of your work with the hope you won't mess up again, at which point you would have to do the same thing over."

    simple solution DONT MESS UP

if you dont like diablo 2 the way it is, why are you here?

"I don't see how forcing you to remake your character for a different build adds any fun to the game- it just means you have to do everything all over again. If you don't want to respec, then don't, no one is forcing you to."

thats the problem, most of the stupid shit they are putting in wont affect people that dont use it. but respecing will

"Forcing your opinion on everyone else like this because you think, in your opinion, it makes the game more "fun" or something, would be like forcing hardcore on softcore players. If you don't like it, don't use it."

its not like that at all, thats how the game is... blizzard is forcing their opinion on others.

"Diablo 2 was never a competitive game. It was mostly about PVM anyway."

lol, why are you on these forums?

"Because then the rest of us who have lives- jobs, full-time college students, parents, et cetera- will not have to spend hours leveling over and over again every time we want to make a character. Instead, if we already have, say, a Blizzard Sorceress, we can just redistribute the skill points and have another build."

i have a job, life, and physical fitness to take care of... after that my free time is spent on warcraft 3, and after this new patch im more then willing to change that to diablo 2. there are plenty of games already where you can just change ur shit whenever, diablo you cannot and it needs to stay that way.

Now, I know that a lot of players, myself included, make new characters because of poor skill point placement or because we want a new skill build. That would definitely be alleviated by being able to replace all of your previous skill points and you would not have to make a new character for that. Like I said, less new characters, less rushes needed, less games for those rushes.

thats like putting rushers out of a job, not only is the economy in recession from obama... now the diablo 2 economy is facing recession

This is a really good point; I think respec will allow people to focus more on building a character than just leveling a character. In my opinion rushing takes away from the enjoyment of game.

lol, you cant take out a paper and write down what your going to do, before you make your char?.... instead of thinking about anything, you just take guesses with no repercussions in poor choice. b/c you can always respec

    I hate respecs.

    1. No longer is rushing for forges a viable way to build wealth.
    2. No longer will I be able to pk games full of noobs in hell getting powerleveled since there wont be nearly as many noobs after the first week of ladder.
    3. Respeccing in duels is just stupid, since the way it is now all specs have strengths and weaknesses.
    4. You thought cookie cutter builds were bad before. Every paladin will level as a hammerdin now, all sins will level as trappers, all necroes as summoners, etc...
    5. Worst of all is people are comparing this change to WoW and GW. If you want to play World of Warcraft or Guild Wars nobodies stopping you, go play it. This is(was) Diablo2.

You can literally level a character to 80+ in a few hours of playing if you have some d2 friends that are willing to help, if not, go make a few, its not hard. If you ruin a character due to poor planning, too bad. Thats always been one of the objectives of the game imo, to tweak characters, experiment, and always try to make your next better then your last. Way to ruin this feature of the game and give every noob an easy fix button. Maybe some of the things that make this game unique and popular after such a long time should be left as is and not mainstreamed to be more like WoW or GW.

i could not have said it better myself.....

this is test to see if it will work in diablo 3, we have to make it fail
