I need to say this. I am tired of Diablo 3, and frankly their constant patching isn't helping me. I feel like there's no point playing because by the time I get the gear they'll just nerf my desired stats. This was proven true by the recent patch notes destroying both WW barbs and Crit Mass Wizards(I play wizard).

I have a friend who says he'll buy me TL2 if I give him my account. I was wondering if anyone on Diablofans had played TL2 and could tell me a little bit about it. I loved the first Torchlight and am I'm looking for the play-all-day longevity of the earlier Diablo games. I am worried that the game may lack Diablo addictiveness because the community won't be there to push me onward.

Frankly I see this 1.05 patch rush as a way to stop people from switching to TL2 so Blizz can make its RMAH money. They did the same thing for GW and Blizzard never puts out patches right after another, though they're making it seem like they will. Just looking for feedback, please no flames. I'm just kind of fed of with Blizzard.

Feel how you want about D3 I can't stop you, but know this; It was constant patching and an expansion that turned D2 from a not very in depth game into one of the best ARPGS ever made.

I'd also like to point out that the nerf to WW barbs is almost non-existent in 105. They are cutting the proc chance of tornadoes from RLTW in half, yes. But they are also cutting the cost of WW in half, and quadrupling the amount of fury gained from the relentless (?) passive. If you use LS instead of LoH the only thing the RLTW passive nerf does it reduce your fury gained, which as mentioned above won't be a problem.

Also, unless I missed something there isn't going to be any nerf to CM wizards in 105. If you are referring to the earlier nerf remember that it didn't kill the build at all - people still choose that or archon builds.

TL2 is a good thunder storm / power's out game, but it really doesn't have any staying power. If you really want to play it I say just buy it but keep your D3 account, I mean TL2 is only like 20$

Either way D3 is going to only get bigger and better. If you're bored take some time off, play TL2 like you want, give it some time =D

They're cutting the armor bonus from energy armor in half. Crit mass is actually extremely armor/resist dependent.

Does anyone know if they've announced a timetable for 1.05? I heard someone say 1 week, but that might just be forum trash. I'm upgrading my gear to include more resists and with the changes lol it looks like that's the last thing I'll need.

Also any idea how much resist a wizard with 60k dps needs to farm inferno Act 3? My profile is below, any gear comments would be appreciated.

P.S. I'm just messing around with builds, that's not the one I normally use

Does anyone else not get to see the second cinematic? I'm on Act 3 Inferno and through discussing the storyline of Diablo 3 I only just found that I have never seen the second cinematic. I'm running on a mac with a male wizard.

On May 15, 2012 in the year of our Lord I set out on a quest. As so many of you I was of the temperament that I must dominate Diablo and quickly, afore the demons of hell ran through my home screaming and killing my roommates but also because I did not want kripparian or athene to get the world first fucking Diablo kill. Alas, I was unsuccessful, but for every misstep there is a new path and through the grace of SPOILER the angel of wisdom Tyrael SPOILER END I had found a new quest. I set myself to attempt Diablo 3 as long as I could solo and without the AH. I was told this was impossible, that I would die at the first chance of invulnerable mortar vortex moltens and curse every barrel trap ever left. Last night I defeated maghda on Inferno and since then have found myself unable to progress without extreme difficulty. Oh yes, I can kite through anything, I even hit the enrage timer on an elite once. But really is that what the game is about? I've run 25 butcher runs with full NV and still hav a dps of 12k unbuffed and about 200 resist all around. So my friends, my diabolicals, I have come here to ask, is it enough? Have I sacrificed and strived the amount of a true warrior. Or shall I bring shame to halls of wizardom, pre-nerf I ams sure this would have been no problem, but there is a pack of double champs blocking my way and I do not know if I shall ever make it through them.

    Sincerely Wizard Yash

P.S. WIthout the AH means without any trading between players as well outside of it.

I was literally just about to make this exact post. I am finding Act 2 Inferno to be nearly impossible even after hours of farming Act 1. I wanted to see if I could solo the whole game without the AH but this is waring me down. I'm going to try and make it but we'll see.

Your information pertaining to Neph Valor is probably wrong. If you look at your "magic find" stat in the the details section of your inventory it goes up by 15 for each stat of NV that you have. Since it is all recorded as one stat chances are that both magic find and NV both buff the same way.

posted a message on Wizard Nerf
A week ago a player posted a video of him soloing Diablo on Hell as Wizard in response to complaints on how bad the wizards were nerfed. He said you require 10k to beat Diablo on Hell as a Wizard, I just wanted to say that I just beat him for the first time and I have about 6k DPS. Here's my build if anyone wants to copy it.

The trick is to stay far away from diablo and use the hydra and seeker to do damage. Teleports are extremely useful in the third stage for getting away from his blue/red flamethrower attack. I just wanted people to know that it was still doable. The only difference between this and my normal build is arcane orb instead of seeker, force weapon instead of teleport, and the lower costing blizzard. I'm debating keeping teleport for inferno though.

Hey, I just beat nightmare and I'm already almost level 50. I remember Blizzard saying that they expect you to finish hell at 60. Have I over leveled? I never skip champs and try any sidequests I find though I don't go looking for them. Have I over leveled?

I'm not very good at video games. I was pulling 10k as a SP in level 85 WoW dungeons, suck at halo, and am the smashed bro in brawl. I gotta say I rolled through normal as a Wizard solo and I can tell you why. In the beginning of the game your most powerful attacks are all melee(ex:Frost Nova and Wave of Force). While this changes later on it places you in a melee playstyle that cannot be mimicked later on. The way to play the Wizard is the opposite of how they set you up in the beginning. You need to be agile and ready to get out of the way of the attacks, even more so the tips by Jay Wilson of teleport and Slot time are HORRIBLE for normal. In normal you don't have any of the proper runes that makes those viable. If you want to succeed as a Wizard you need to experiment as much as possible. It'll teach you what moves work with wizard and what don't. If you need inspiration just check out who got the inferno first contest on this website, a SOLO wizard. Wizard isn't bad there's just a learning curve.
