Blizzard should remove everything (skills/passives) that adds additional scaling to crit chance. There will otherwise always be some breakpoint above which those skills are very strong and below which they suck.Posted in: News

Hello fellow members.
Im very confused why you think the idea about souldbound legendarys is bad, this is the greatest idea i ever heard blizzard announce in ANY diablo game, and im a huuuuuge fan. I could go over 10 very logic reasons why this is good but i will let your simple minds think about this cause i know blizzard staff already figured that out.
Altho i can agree with you about the "2 hours window" with a party, that will mean that it will be SO much better to play as four friends then going alone...Especially for the race at the start. But they already told us they want players to play as a party, but i belive the xp,mf and gold bonus and how it is easier as four different builds/classes already proves that four is the way to go!
Me and my 20 diablo friends this idea!
Best regards Jimmy
Well I can't see this being any good, and yes I have a reason.
Alright so there's tons of legenadry items in the game, you probably wont find all, nor get the specific legendary with some specific stats you want.
I'm rerolling a Crusader in RoS(going to be my main). One of my friends is going to reroll too, if my other 2 friends start again it's likely they might reroll Crusader also.
So 4 crusaders farming in RoS, atleast 1 or 2 of them will most likely be unluckcy with crusader drops, and its most likely gonna be me cause thats just how it works for me, im unlucky.
So obviously there wouldn't be ANY trading whatsoever between us except for our alts, one might go wiz, one DH so we might trade those specific items.
So, at this point, how am I gonna be able to get the items I want? Doesn't look like I am, unless the item has alot greater drop chance then those legendaries today, and rolls most of the time really good. Which then will not make Diablo 3 good, cause if its like console where every other item rolls 1300 dps, sox, 300str 80% critdmg on 1h.... no thanks. I want a game I can play for 2 years and not get bored, not a game I play for 1 week, I'm BIS geared and nothing left to do.
OR if it's gonna be abit of a challange to get items you might have to play 5000 hours to get the gears you want. That is also not fun.
I don't really wanna settle with just any good ring or weapon, I wanna end up using the ring or weapon or any other gear piece that I WANT.
But hope they don't release RoS with soulbound legendaries, it can't be balanced IMO, either its gonna be too hard or too easy(like console).
Remember that Loot 2.0 will improve personal loot. It could be very possible that legendaries that are useful to your class drop more often for you, somewhat offsetting the disadvantage of the same classes playing together. Additionally, psychology teaches us that we are prone to perceive negative outcomes stronger and remember them better than positive outcomes (at least for young and middle-aged adults). So you probably aren't as unlucky as you think you are. I agree it will be more difficult to get specific legendaries with the new system. We'll see how it plays out. Blizzard obviously wants party play to be the way to go. They want "play to win" instead of "trade to win", which is good. I hope legendaries will be account bound and not character bound. -

Of course, the clever choice is to swap skills as soon as you realize you can't beat the boss with you currents skills. You'll find an efficient, universal build quicker if you forgo the unnecessary wipes and skips. NV reset currently punishes being clever by removing the loot and MF bonus when you start to experiment and fine-tune your build, and it kills a major incentive of defeating a new boss.
True, but: Without NV-reset, people would just switch their brains off until their character dies to a monster-group and then respecc. It isn't hard to know which skills are better against specific monster-types or amounts (single target vs. group, melee vs. ranged, burst vs. sustain dmg, ...), but it is hard to come up with a build that doesn't suck in any of these situations (now, apart from doing the completely brainless build-copying). -

Completely doctored stats. They take ALL chars into account for their stats. Given that probably 50-60% of all characters are mules, or under level 5, it's complete BS.
I'd estimate about 30-40% of all players are in Inferno. Probably more.
Didn't think about this, completely agree.
In the best case, each Inferno player has a maximum of 8 characters (assuming same game mode/server), while all Non Inferno players have only 1 character. In this case, 1.9x8% of the characters belong to a player that has unlocked Inferno, which is 15.2%. On average (3 chars per player) 5.7% have unlocked Inferno. -
May 23, 2012Axi21 posted a message on Diablo III - Massive Hotfix ListI'm glad Diablo 3 isn't just about "oh let me copy that faceroll build and clear inferno". Skill is required. Also happy about the nerfs. The Force Armour rune was a bit strong in many situations (e.g. Asmodan meteor phase).Posted in: News

Usually, uniques were better, which made them more valuable, but yellows could be better, so you still wanted to pick them up. Also, uniques felt unique in that they all had a different feel to them and usually unique attributes. In addition, a lot of uniques opened up new build possibilities. This, along with their attributes not being that variable (no random additional attributes, which few exceptions), gave uniques a sort of identity.

Diablo 1 was quite difficult when playing through the first time (without cheating).
I find it sad that game developers are too afraid to bring out really challenging games.

Still, I just can't stop having the feeling that the Diablo 3 Live-design-team consists of less than 5 people. I mean honestly - how long does it take a few people to do a first pass on the items, get feedback, and reiterate a few times?
Then again, I have never understood why Diablo 2 had such a huge variance in skill viability (so many weak skills), even after the synergies had been added.
I love the Diablo World and D3 has a lot of cool aspects - but I haven't been playing for months because the game is just unfinished.

Other Skills:
- Prismatic armor
- Frost Nova
- Teleport (safe passage)
- Slow Time (Enemies take 20% more dmg)
- Mirror Image (duplicates)
Passives:
- Blur
- Astral presence
- Critical mass
Something that helped was using a very slow 2h-weapon (less AP per second) with decent LL (2.80%) and LoH (1000).
I personally am not sure if the other desintegrate runes are as viable, as they cover a smaller area. The range isn't much higher (Entropy range is higher than the visual effect suggests) but the damage is. Entropy also works very well with Slow time (often permanently up w/ CM) and frost nova.

The different runes of evasive fire (DH) look slightly different.
