Apr 16, 2012From what I'm seeing Ivybridge isn't really worth it compared to Sandybridge. If you can still wait, I'd probably wait for the Ivy to come out and then get a discounted 2500k or 2600k depending on if you want an i5 or i7.Posted in: Technical Support
This is of course that you plan OCing. Reports are coming out that the heat from the IB is through the roof when you try to OC it. If you aren't then IB is probably just fine and dandy

first, without any doubt the story itself is awesome and solidifies what we know and value of diablo.
BUT (!!) I read the books in german and it took me a month to read the first book... it was just sooooooo (!!!) unbeleavable bad written -.-' maybe I have to blame the translator...
but your summary is really great it leaves out the R.A.Knaak style!
Oh no,it was badly written in English too. The overall story was awesome, but some stuff...bleh. Something that really irked me is that the beginning of the 2nd and 3rd books they had to give me a recap of the characters like I had never heard of these people before.
That and the relationship between Serenthia and Achilios basically came out of nowhere. Yes, he loved her all this time and she knew, but didn't care and never showed any inclination that she thought of him as anything but a childhood friend. Then She is sad and he sits next to her they talk about random stuff. Then bam next chapter they are suddenly in love. It left me scratching my head wondering if I had somehow skipped a chapter.
Apr 10, 2012Like others have said you won't be missing much. I'll be playing as soon as it goes live maybe, if I'm still away at 2am,but I expect to not really do much playing. Mostly lots of swearing as I lag out or the server crashes again.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Apr 10, 2012Eh, I got into the beta last week through my AP stuff. I dunno, I couldn't really get into it. Although that may be due to the fact that I quit really playing WoW back in December to play SWTOR(which I also quit after a couple months because it was bad), and only really logged into WoW to talk to people since then.Posted in: Warcraft & WoW
I got to about level 3 with a monk and just logged.
Apr 10, 2012They can be a pain in the ass depending on the game. I haven't haven't really had any problem except when it comes to updating my drivers at which point, I have to open up my case and physically remove the xfire cable otherwise my driver installation will crash. That and the issues that happen to from tabbing in and out occasionally. Like I said usually fixed within a few seconds, but other times I have to restart. Not the biggest deal ever.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)

How does D3 handle crossfire? any micro-stuttering or any big flaws in it?
Smooth as can be for me. Haven't noticed any stuttering at all or any real big flaws. Just a couple odd things when tabbing in and out that usually fix themselves in a couple seconds, but most games do that with crossfire. With everything cranked up in CCC, MSI Afterburner showed their usage at about 70%.
Apr 10, 2012Eh, suppose I could do my specs and stuff. I suppose at I could also take a picture or something, but that would take effort so tomorrow or something. Anyways.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)

I created a WD and played through the content again and I'm almost certain they upped the drop rate of rares.
I've been in the beta for several months now and beforehand, I'd literally go about a dozen complete runs without finding a rare item off of anything aside from first Leroic kills. On this last runthrough, I found 3 rares before I even made it to the SK. Either I had an exceedingly lucky run (with hardly any MF) or the drop rate of rares has increased.
Anyone else notice this?
Slightly higher I think. Also noticed the corpse of Haedrig's Apprentice has a 100% drop rate for a blue

Possibly some undocumented changes I've noticed already:
2 - The elite at Adria's place has a new (?) frozen effect. Don't kill her. Watch like 4-5 white "ghosts" appear then explode in a frost nova. Maybe that's not new, and she just took longer to kill? Who knows.
Was wondering if that was something new or something I just never ran into as well
