Not likely, since they're both owned by the same parent company, and have been rolled together in the same subsidiary by that parent company.Quote from CataleptInteresting, though, that Activision made an operating loss this quarter, while Blizzard is still chugging along in the black. Wouldn't surprise me if they cut themselves loose soon... they've got their own distribution channel now, they can't be getting much benefit from the relationship.

I don't care if there are panda sigils. I would care though if they made me buy MoP CE to get D3 wings. It's a relief to hear they're probably not related.
There's stuff in WoW from SC2 that you had to go to Blizzcon for, so...it's just marketing. -

This is just reminding you that there are going to be heaps of people who do struggle with Normal difficulty. Don't assume that everyone is in their mid 20-30s and has played all kinds of games for the last 10-20 years of their life. There will be people who breeze through normal in 30 minutes (maybe?), then people who will literally take weeks. Nothing contradictory there.
There will be people who find Skeleton King challenging. I didn't, but, I played D1 and D2 a LOT, not to mention the last 7 years of MMO raiding. I can move and react, though I'm no twitch FPS player. I think about what skills will work best in a situation etc.
Some people here react to the fact that it's made for people other than themselves by saying "Well, those people need to get better or not play, because I want difficulty set for ME!!" That's not an answer Blizzard is going to listen to. They want to sell the game to everyone, not just *you*, whoever you and your friends are. It just varies how far into the game you'll go before finding it difficult. Some in Normal, some in Inferno, lots in between somewhere.
Also, some don't find 'horribly difficult' fun, and may play for years in Normal. I know people who almost never left Normal in D2. They found it fun. You might not, but that's ok. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

If I got the usual hours played per dollar spent that most games get, yes, I would be, too. But, considering my ratio since 1994 for Blizzard games is much better, I'm OK with it.

I would double-check with your credit-card company and make sure they didn't think it was suspicious. They might have flagged it and declined it, OR it might have not gone through because of factors outside Blizzard's control, like something being down on the CC company's end.
These things do happen, so just follow up with Blizzard and find out what really happened, and double-check with your CC company.

The key difference between you and several on this forum is that you understand that 'I think' <> 'fact'. I have no problems with your personal opinions for or against D3, or even with you posting them as such. It's the people who post their opinions as fact and insist that everyone should share those opinions that annoy the hell out of me. Also, you understand how the business side of things interacts with it.
In general (not specific to the person quoted), if you don't like D3, fine. As with any game, it's not for everyone, even some people who loved D1/2. But don't turn that into thinking no one else will like it, or that any large group will think the same as you, or even that they should. That you don't like it should be enough. You don't need anyone else to validate that, or at least you shouldn't.

Yeah, people can't read. D3 is no longer a 'new release'. WoW is still #9 on that overall list, too.
Not that Gamespot means a whole lot, but, yeah, what you posted made me laugh when I checked it.

Agreed.

Things happen. Get over it.
Edit; I double-checked. Legendary rings say Unique Equipped right on them.

Gamespot and Xfire don't mean a damned thing, anyway.

I had three packs in it last time I hit it. I think random is random.

Yeah, it was very important in D1. If you were a warrior and had the really fast sword, you could kill succubi in Hell w/o them running off, because you could keep them in hit recovery.

Ditto. I've not played one public game. But I'm still definitely playing, and I have a ton of friends who are doing the same.

If by a LOT you mean perhaps 50-100K out of 6-7+ million, fine. It's probably not any bigger than that, if that big. Don't be thinking you're a majority.
The people I'm really mystified by are the ones who thought Blizzard was bad before they bought D3, and still bought it.

If you think Blizzard is that bad, why did you give them $60? (or whatever the price was in your country if not US).
If I thought a company was that bad, no way would I give them my money, but it doesn't seem to stop a bunch of you at all. You pay the money, then whine that Blizzard sucks, and has sucked for years.
And this isn't a subscription game, so you gave them all the money in one shot. No ongoing fees to give or not give. They've already gotten their profit from you.
(I'm not on the Blizzard-hating bandwagon myself. I have no problem with others not liking the game, or not liking Blizzard, but, ffs, if you think Blizzard is a horrible developer, *don't* pay them money then bitch. Just don't give them anything.)
