I am a bit of a carebear but decided to give hardcore a go. My 1st character a monk I got to lvl 51 and died to the 1st elite pack in Hell. The elite pack was in a cellar with the extra minion affix can't remember the other 2 affix's. Funny thing was I got back to the door with the majority of the mobs on half health and decided to go back in and finish them off. Got surrounded with no CD's and watched my health dwindle with most of the mobs near death :(. Thought I would be angry at myself but I wasn't too bad. My new monk is now lvl 30 and I have learnt a lot from that death.
I am liking it a lot more than SC as it gives you that rush when you are near death and come out of an encounter alive.

On my way thru trying to piece together the Staff of Herding so have been stuck on the Liquid Rainbow for a couple of level's. Haven't tried since this new capping of games but tend to clear a good portion of Dahlgur Oasis anyways, before starting a new game.
I had this issue also. When the servers went down for maintanance the otehr night I went and played on the Asian server and didn't change back. All I had to do was change back to the American region.
Wow, thx for the link Ronark... not sure how I missed the blues about that 'group split' including +XP and Gold Find stats along with Magic Find.
My question is answered, although it kinda saddens me that the whole "you get 20% of your followers stats in these catagories" promotes solo play... I guess it was the lesser of 2 evils, because I don't really see a better way to fix leaching. I know that the topic has been beaten dead horse style already, so I'll just leave it at that.
I have thought of this for a bit about leeching off of others. Is it really leeching if they don't have the same stats in +xp as you but they would then have stats in other areas that would help the group? I can understand someone coming into a game wearing all whites sitting at the back of the party sipping coffee, that would be leeching.

As I knew I was playing D3 I got the AP for the free game plus the MoP beta. I have leveled a monk to level 15 (or there abouts) but my fiance is the one who is taking full advantage of the beta. Her monk is about level 63 now and is enjoying it. I only received my invite on the 2nd last wave so haven't had it for that long.
As of next week I will log in for raids as the group I raid with are really like family now as we have been playing with each other for near on 6 years (and this is where myself and my fiance met). And we only have spine and madness to go on heroic.

Thought I would introduce myself after posting in a couple of topics.
I live with my fiance (gamer also), Julie (the dog) and Benji (the cat) in Perth, Western Australia the most isolated city in the world.
Been gaming since my parents bought me an atari 2600 way back when. Have played varying games including D1 and D2 with D2 taking up a fair bit of my years until WoW was released and have been playing that ever since, with a few return trips to D2. Been both a hardcore gamer and casual over the years and atm would say more on the casual side of things.Will be taking a week off work for some D3 fun.
My fiance plays WoW with me but isn't interested in D3 at this stage. Have gotten her an annual pass on the quiet and will install D3 for her and make it a suprise on the 15th. Hopefully we can play together and she gets into it. If not she still has WoW and her own MoP beta key altho fat chances of getting mine back as she now has a lvl 60 monk :o.
Will most probably be playing a wizard as my 1st character after really enjoying that in the beta and I tend to gravitate towards casters.
3pm is the time servers go live here in Western Australia so no need to worry about a late start. Have taken the day off anyways to spend with the fiancé before I delve into the game.
3pm for me in Western Australia and I have the day off also (plus the rest of the week). Will make sure to try and get as much sleep in as possible to play as much as possible for that 1st stint.
