posted a message on Anyone with t6 Roland's experience, how can I improve my character?
    Hi Guys!

I've recently completed the full Roland's set and want to try and make it work in facerolling t6 (not really interested in pushing higher grfits using this set). At the moment I can clear t5 pretty reliably, but am running into damage and survivability problems in t6. Can clear it, but in no way efficiently.

Can anyone who has t6 experience with this set possibly provide some insight into my character to see what I can improve: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Reclaim-6743/hero/52743925

I realise I need a SoJ, as well as lv 25+ gems (planning on using BotP, Gogok and Pain enhancer, I don't think this build procs BotT?) It would also be good to have a better weapon, either Heart Slaughter or Furnace. Anything else glaringly obvious that I can improve?

(also as a side note, I don't personally find the 6 piece worth using, all it really does it cause wrath issues for me!)

    Cheers!

I do about 10 min t6 runs with my build:

Was using explosive toads, but changed to addling for the cc. Toads doesn't do much damage anyway, so not missing out on much.

Not that I ever planned on using the RMAH in any way, but I am mildly surprised that they've pushed it back until further notice.

I agree. With the way that AH is saturated with top tier gear from Act III - Act IV inferno at the moment, I think it would be unwise to release the RMAH.

I'm assuming that they want to wait to see how Inferno progress (and as such the availability of items) plans out over the coming weeks/months before releasing, so that the gold Auction House economy has time to settle.

Maybe this for a bit more DPS?

Why are you using cold blooded? You don't have any damaging frost attacks.

It takes advantage of hydra pools stacking on mobs stuck in frost nova, however in my opinion it's not worth using a passive slot for it. Instead I would go for either Astral Presence or Blur.

I noticed this too when I was doing a bit of farming for the stuff for Cow Level.

To me it felt like if I was holding down my mouse to move, sometimes tele would randomly go off either moving me backwards or in the same position, and reset my cooldown.

Yeah Vortex is the worst. Also, Molten and plagued in those bloody Eastern and Western flow channel zones. My tactic is to kite and when I run out of kiting room, wormhole tele through the group and head in the other direction. Doesn't work so well if my kiting room is a long thin tunnel full of molten and plagued patches :'(

What are your thoughts on Wormhole runed Teleport instead of Frost Nova?

I can imagine that Frost Nova is better for getting an extra couple of seconds of Hydra stack, however Teleport is really good if you get caught in a position where you run out of kiting room, you can double tele back through the group and kite in the other direction.

NOTE: this is only for a "perfect" build

To clarify, this means that it's possible to have a much less optimal setup, but still be viable?

I currently have about 13k hp, and about 1000 regen, and don't have the money to optimise everything better at the moment.

I'm currently face-rolling Act I. I'm assuming it just requires more kiting?

    Quick couple of questions:

    1. How much life regen do you need to make this effective?
    2. Generally, how many items will you need to reach this amount of regen?

Archon is pretty useless past nightmare imo if you're soloing. Heck even in a group, there are times where Archon will get you killed rather than your standard defensive abilities.

This is 100% true, after nightmare I found archon got me killed more than it helped, it's still great vs mobs, but as soon as you hit champion packs or golds and try to stand there and trade with them you get gibbed, and i have 42k hp on my wiz.

Agree with this as well. I found it extremely situational in Inferno. Currently going through Act II, and I've just made the switch from Archon to Teleport (dropped Evocation for Illusionist).

With Illusionist, Teleport is pretty much reset every time you get hit allowing you to kite with Venom Hydra.

Blizzard, whilst pretty bad through normal/nm/hell, is an absolute godsend in Inferno. All inferno is, is successful kiting. Successful kiting is doing as much damage as possible whilst on the move.

Stark Winter blizzard, and Venom Hydra are amazing.

[...] THIS BUILD IS WORTHLESS FOR ANY FORM OF FARMING, OR CHAMPION PACKS. YOU WILL DIE INSTANTLY.

While I agree that this build is clearly good while not being as overpowered as it is stated, and even hard to play against packs with fire chains or other annoying affixes, what you say, "this build is worthless" is not true.
You will die instantly if you play poorly. But with proper kiting, a good skill selection, and good reflex, you will die much less than with any other wizard build.

Ok, I agree that I am probably overreacting. I guess the point that I'm trying to make is not the super IWIN build that everyone who has no experience in inferno is making it out to be (due to a couple of high exposure kills)

It is situational at best, and I don't think that up coming wizards should be counting on it to carry them through inferno.

Could you please provide a rough estimate of you stats? I'm working my way through Act II, and want to gauge my readiness for this encounter.

Post the detailed view of your stats via a screen shot if possible.

    Thanks :)

    Also congratulations!

A wizard solo'd Diablo Inferno a week into the game with the (ab)use of this rune.

Any wizard can just run without any vitality and high regen and basically be immortal, which is exactly what the guy did.

    Los retardos.

I'm getting really pissed off about this.

Everyone has seen one Wizard use a VERY specific build to kill Diablo, without even understanding how the build works. People are just taking the 'low health + high regen + force armor' build at face value, and it's creating a huge misconception.

So that it's clear. THIS BUILD IS WORTHLESS FOR ANY FORM OF FARMING, OR CHAMPION PACKS. YOU WILL DIE INSTANTLY.
