i for one wouldnt give xp for the 1st 30 minutes of the session, these cota noobs have been ruining the game experience for the ones who play as intended, i select the last quest from an act and then just port where ever i feel like it killing mobs and much as i can untill im bored of the act or smthin, playing 0.001% of the entire game is not only an insult to blizzard but shows how little skill u have for not beeing able to decently farm t6 while having fun and playing the game at the same time, sry but reseting every 30 seconds and going again, is not playing the game. First these noobs have caused the cursed chests not to be so exciting when finding one, now im gonna get rewarded less because of noobs who farmed cota...its the shit players that slowly are destroying this game.
please enlighten me as to how CotA runs have ruined _your_ playing experience. Please tell me how this affects you in any way. I haven't been doing these runs because I don't find it fun, but I haven't noticed any degradation in my personal experience either. You seem to have been hurt greatly by other people playing the game in a way that has no bearing on your experience at all. Please expand on your response for us.

I don't understand why efficient methods need to be nerfed in the first place. I mean, this isn't a competitive game. Who cares if Joe Shmoe has a P Lv. of 8000? I certainly don't. Finding the best way to farm <X> was always one of my favorite things to do in an RPG.

Anyway, I agree, it's a crappy way to "fix" these perceived problems. Nerf nerf nerf... I thought games were supposed to be fun? That said, I'm reserving judgement for a couple of days. Some potentially cool things are coming our way and I'll see how it plays out.

Quote fromAdvanced Instead of nerfing everything they could buff anything else.

I don't farm cota because it is to boring, but the nerf also affects me. Blizzard works always this way, they choose the easy and fast way out. Adjusting the values for all other area simply cost much more resources.
So the 50% buff is not enough for you then? You still wan't to get even more XP?
The buff is temporary, it's the mentality that is the problem. It looks like this may not stop after ROS is released. I am back because I like the general direction that DIII has been taking since Wilson's departure. However, this is the kind of design philosophy that made me leave in the first place.

The launcher pre-downloads patches. I don't know for sure what is/is not in for RoS today, but you will not be downloading the entire thing on launch day.

it happens when i do something like changing a zombie charger rune, or dropping a blue item out of my inventory. this is why i'm confused. i've played diablo since the first one came out, so i'm well aware of how life boosting stats work, fellas...
I figured, but had to ask. If your life is truly dropping as a result of dropping an item from inventory that is obviously a bug. I've never seen such a thing.

But that would not prevent sites like D2JSP from selling items for cash, and I'm sure they were thinking of that.Of course, it seems like they're gimping rares atm for fear of the same.

I like smart drops, but I don't like finding str and dex gear on my Wiz 80% of the time. I prefer the current system but, as I said before, would like to see a few more drops for my follower(s).
this is what option 1 is for, current "Smart Drop" system, which is default... suggested system does not affect the ones who loves current system at all...

but option 1 / current system may be a little bit smarter and can drop 75% for character playing, the rest can be for follower we have... right now, i feel like almost everything has either int+vit or just vit if I play with wizard :) even if finding a stupid ring for follower is pain...
Right, I believe I was agreeing with most of your post, just not some of your implementation ideas. I like smart loot in general, I would just prefer it to be a bit more... dumb I guess.

    1. Yeah, the follower is an issue, but I've managed to gear mine out without issue just playing the game (just leveled a WD after 2.0 dropped). I would like it if the system took your follower into account.

    2. Same complaint as #1.

    3. Well, ok, but that's probably not what most people do. I for one don't see that as being fun at all. I would rather play the character I am trying to gear up and progress while playing.

    4. Again, same complaint as the one before it.

Just imagine the old loot system without any kind of AH... it would have been the worst game ever.
The old loot system would not have existed without the AH though. The Ah was _the_ reason drops were so crappy.

I heard that Gold will have a great vallue in RoS because of the new enchanting. I only got around 30 million gold right now and i wonder if i will be able to substain myself for rerolling attributes on weapon and armors.
I've been thinking about this as well. I have ~36m gold (stropped playing right before P levels were implemented). That won't last long, but with no AH there is really no practical way to make millions and millions of G anymore. They have to make sure that gold is farmable to the point that people can actually afford this stuff, but I don't know what they've done yet.
