^ The director has admitted what many of us have been saying this whole time. Makes me want to dredge up all of those debates with the fanbois. The AH was moronic.

Honestly, I think $9.99 is what the game should cost across the board. It's not a bad game, but it' not a deep game either. I would compare it to an XBox Arcade title.

Making Plvling account wide eliminates a lot of replayability.

I disagree. I think it would add replayability. I see where you're coming from, but I think the vast majority of people are just going to stick with one character because they don't want to plvl another, it just takes too much time.

I haven't played in a while, but once p levels were introduced I never touched my Wizard again and stuck to my barb. I could be wrong, but I believe that, if they were account wide, it would add incentive to playing other classes because you're not starting back at square 1. It still takes a ton of time to get to 100 and I don't think most will get there on even 1 character, let alone 2, 3, N.

There's gotta be some other twists to playing this game rather than running countless A3 in 15 minutes.

    I wish you were correct.

Honestly, I doubt it will be worth it, but it's hard to say at this point (obviously). I hope it is because it would add much needed depth to the game, but if the only advantage is MF then, well... running with 375 MF still results in a crap-ton of garbage, so it seems like running with double that amount would just result in... roughly double the garbage.

This would make all class-specific items incredibly powerful for their classes, since you'll only see very well rolled ones. Normal items will fall out of use.

Ok, so then the overall design just sucks. Finding a barb weapon with int is just dumb and indefensible. It makes the game less fun.

I like to compare it to opening your Christmas presents. Plus, there's nothing more awesome than heading to town without an inventory filled of unid'd rares. Might just be me though.

Yeah, but with one twist; on Christmas morning you find 10,000 presents under the tree, one of which has an actual present in it. The rest contain feces. Enjoy!

IDing is part of the diablo charm, I'm glad they haven't added an ID all button, people are so stressed playing this game it seems, they don't even have 1 second to spare.

It's not like you would be forced to use it, so I don't understand that argument.

The problem is that you find a ridiculously large amount of rares per hour... and the vast majority of them (if not all) are garbage. No one wants to spend time ID'ing junk constantly.

Played TL 2 all day yesterday and it is great, definitely worth $20. By level five I had a full 3-piece set with bonuses that, you know, make a difference. Will I play it for 300+ hours? I don't know, but it is definitely fun in ways that... a competing game... is not.

Not sure what you guys are so confused about. Sure, the patch isn't out yet, but the notes make it perfectly clear how they intend to "reward" you for increasing the difficulty; by bumping MF past the cap. Great, more garbage rares to sort through. I don't blame the OP at all for being skeptical.

The point is - more items, game's still RNG, and D2's trade system was terrible. How can you solve this efficiently? Auction House. There really isn't any other way. Yes it makes finding items less worthwhile..

That's it, that's where you stop. That's when you realize that it is a bad decision because it makes the game less fun. There are pros, there are cons, yes, but ultimately, a game should be fun. That's all, that's how it will be measured. This is not a socioeconomic experiment, it's a mechanism for entertainment.

The AH brings with it all of these crummy consequences and restrictions and I just don't think it was worth it.
It's fun for a ton of people. Just because it's not fun to some specificaly (mostly because they wanted a piece of the "awesome loot pie") doesn't mean the game is bad for everyone.

While it's not fun for you a lot of the "hardcore gamers" that wanted to be awesome and rich as the top-notch players, for the casual playerbase that's playing Normal/Nightmare (I had a few friends in this category), it's "the most awesome game they ever played" (I quote).

And I honestly understand you. I really wanted to see a whole IK set drop to me. I'd trade the AH for that feeling any day. But it's just not happening. Is the game less fun to me because of that? Well that depends entirely on my mindset ;) and I'm a pretty positive guy.

Sure, I myself had fun... for a bit. It just couldn't hold my interest. I don't think the course Blizz took with D3 was "wrong" in absolute terms, it's just not what I would have liked.

It's ok though; TL2 is entertaining me at the moment, MOP is around the corner, Marvel Heroes looks awesome (have I mentioned that yet? :D), and I'm still watching D3 as it evolves, it may draw me back in later.

    @BigEd781

Mate, looking at your profile i know why u feel so depressed about D3. You are in the state of doing a3 for about hours - that can be boring, i agree.

D3 is quite similar to D2. There are many hidden factors and "caps" "breaks" for procs of skills. Just the player base is much bigger and there is alot of casuals who don't know the game mechanics but they are trying to force-rush the A3 inferno. Thats why we get power lvl mechanic. So whiners and casuals as you can farm "as fast as the would in even more casual game like torchlight". I just can't wait to hit players 10 and rape thru the A3 feeling satisfaction once again (like pre 1.0.3).

You are like those peeps in D2 "OMG how can he pvp with lvl 98 HC barbarian!?" or "omg he is haxing for sure!"

Wanna "feel' the game - learn the game from basics.

And about AH - yeah would so more fun if 2 milions people would make rooms "WTS > WTT >" so easy to find anything.

Now tell me how different was clicking "refresh" in D2 to see those rooms from d3 Search button???

Wait... so I'm a "whiner" and a "casual" because... I farm the best place to farm in the game? What would you have me do? Are you saying I would have much more fun farming Act I, II, and IV? What are you talking about? Don't flatter yourself either "mate"; I know plenty about the game mechanics, what makes you think they are so deep and mystical?

I'm not trying to "force rush" anything. Act III is easy and has been since before the patch. You're an idiot.

The AH was required for how the Diablo 3 item base was.

I think you have that backward.

    Quote from Exorsaik
People are forgetting one key fact about the AH. The RMAH. Blizzard has a vested interest it making this game as good as it can possibly be and keeping people playing it.

That they do. Understandable, but I don't think it has had a good influence on the game.

There's nothing more MMO'ish about D3 then there was about D2. If anything, its less.

I gave examples, you just said I was wrong without backing it up. I'd be interested to hear your reasoning behind that statement (truthfully, I don't mean that to be condescending).

There aren't major game releases where the game is PERFECT at launch. Sorry. Hence why there is a patching system in the first place. You balance, rebalance and then balance it abit more before it works flawlessly. It takes time. The primary difference between D2 and 3 is the difficulty. The art style isn't much different. D2 had a smaller color pallet and appears darker, but its mood isn't nearly as dark as seeing tortured angels and the multiple instances of human torture, death, and even enslavement (A3, Succubus')

I'm not saying the games perfect, but its been our for a very short time comparitivly. I definately think it'll live up to its predicessor.

I don't expect it to be perfect, but they can forever more spare me the "when it's ready" nonsense. It wasn't even close, and the beta was a joke. Like I said, I do hope that it is successful, I have just lost faith. It's just not fun for me and I don't care to log in any more. That makes me sad.

I think the lack of randmization was a truly bad idea which, among other things, will limit the lifetime of this game. Again, I hope I'm wrong and will enjoy coming back someday, but I don't see it happening.
