posted a message on D3: Unfinished. Blizzard dropped the ball.
This whole discussion reeks of "We need a Diablo MMO" and I gladly +1 that. And by "Diablo MMO" I am referring to the blood, the gore, the demons and angels, etc. I'm not talking about the simplistic control system that Diablo has always been. That would just have to go, and the entire game mechanics, skills, etc. would have to be completely reworked for an MMO platform. But yeah, Diablo MMO I think would solve all of these grievances. :)

    *edit*
And of course create new ones, too! :D

1 - The AH's interface is shit and it just feels squashy. I'm not talking about latency for sending requests to the server. I'm talking about clicking the different dropdowns and such. It's just not snappy enough. I hate it. But meh, at least we have one, right? :P

2 - Champions are supposed to be harder. They have random abilities that are hard to deal with. They also drop the most/best gear. These are the premise of loot farming. Bosses have the exact same abilities and mechanics every run. It's only going to get easier with them.

3 - We're freakishly infatuated with D3. Of course we beat it in a week. ALSO, this is not an MMO people. You can beat a boss solo, so wtf did you expect? No one can beat Deathwing solo; it takes a GROUP of people ALL well-geared and playing well to do that which takes MUCH TIME. See the difference? Diablo is Whack-A-Mole with blood, gore, and demonic denizens skinned over. You can only get so deep with this type of play and control.

4 - The fact it took you so long to progress in D2 and you apparently totally facerolled D3 doesn't mean it's bad. Maybe you changed? Maybe your gaming skills got better, bruh? Maybe your expansive gaming knowledge and experience coming back to a Diablo game just doesn't measure up?

5 - As someone mentioned, the loot tables are littered with Legendaries for ALL LEVELS AND ALL DIFFICULTIES. Because you haven't found one yet doesn't mean it was a bad idea. Just because the yellows you are wearing have better stats than the Legendaries you've seen so far doesn't mean the game is ruined. It means you need to read more, farm more, search the AH more, and QQ less.

    The End.

posted a message on The ads are killing you
First off, yes ads are necessary, yes a curse premium account removes them, yes I support all of these things. But the ads are misbehaving I think.

I almost never see this site without being logged into my Curse account so I never notice the ads. For whatever reason, I was on here looking at things and was not logged in. I found this site to be HORRIBLY sluggish with the ads that are being displayed. I don't know if it's the ad service or the ads being "too bulky/flashy", but that's when ads drive away your traffic. If the site doesn't load in a few seconds like every other professionally developed and maintained site on the Internet, that is when your ads are going to kill you. People do not want to stare at a half-loaded screen waiting for the navigation bar so they can click into the forums. I REALLY, REALLY have to stress this is REALLY, REALLY bad. REALLY. I hope the devs/admins can figure it out before it causes too much more trouble. Yikes!

The Templar follower cries out "For righteousness!" as he massacre's a pink Cuddly Bear and blood goes flying everywhere followed by a cupcake for you to eat. Hooray for annihilating Love-A-Lot! :D

If you watch them long enough, the skeletons will cackle which makes me giggle so much, I stop playing for a second.

The Cow King's intro to Whimsyshire.

The cinematic where Leah gets possessed.

Iskatu runs. Twin Chakram absolutely decimates!

    Finding my first legendary.

    What's yours?

posted a message on Gear/stat progression for Hardcore?
In D2, there were some simple rules you could go by to make sure you were ready for the next level of content. For example, don't leave Normal mode until Level 40 and put 150 points into Vitality. Max lightning and fire resistance for nightmare, and have 250 points to Vitality by act5. Then don't go to hell until you can max all resistances AND have 20 lightning absorb. D3 seems to be a lot more intricately scaled for gear vs content. How does one know when it's time to move to the next quest/act/difficulty in Hardcore?

I've been playing softcore and I'm finding there really is no room for trial and error for gearing. Like you'll be all going along killing things, and then a champion pack comes from out of nowhere with Waller + Mortar and you're basically insta-gibbed. Things were dying fine until this point, wtf? So when should you start stacking that fire resist and how much of it? And is physical resist that important and to what degree?

    Bola/Impending Doom
    Entangling Shot/Chain Gang
    Caltrops/Torturous Ground
    Spike Trap/Long Fuse
    Vault/Rattling Roll
    Chakram/Twin Chakram

This build is a lot of fun. It works rather smoothly, but the increased time on Bola Shot sticks out the most in my mind as the worst weakness. But without Impending Doom, you just don't get that ever-satisfying BANG BANG BANG with huge damage. And just when that starts, it's BANG BANG BANG from the Spike Traps. OMG 371% bombs are so tasty...

i dont understand why rare and elite monsters drop more rare items then bosses. of mf?

Blizzard designed the game that way so that people could not do "baal runs" like they did in the past, they intended to make people have to find dungeons and have to kill pack upon pack of elites

Yeah, basically they want you to play through the game or a whole act, not just one quest over and over. That way you farm some elites, some chests, and after a dozen or so champion packs, go kill a boss. This is very apparent with the Nephalem Valor buff, but I'm not seeing how magic find is accomplished before level 60. Just grind it out and hope for some luck? :\

how are you supposed to get tons of mf?

    Good question! :D

I'm trying to plot a gear path of sorts for running in hardcore. (Progress to here, then farm it until [these stats] are attained, then progress more, repeat). Unfortunately, I'm not seeing how magic find is of any significance at this point...

I built a cheap Magic Find set of gear that puts my MF to around 113. I cannot tell any difference in the drops. On a run, I still fill my bag with all blues except 1 or 2 yellows.

Anyone have gear that gets their MF considerably higher than 113 and in turn seeing marvelous results?

Mmmm, I see what you did there. I will keep a suspicious eye on its usefulness as I progress because I planned a build to use it. -.^

I am curious about your point about Sharpshooter. Is it really that weak?

Can barely read anything on those pages. Bad angle, low resolution, bad lighting. I can see all the set items are level 60 and that's it.

    What spoiler? :\

It takes a while to rip and transcode. And is it a problem to distribute that kind of stuff? Maybe that takes a while also.
