posted a message on Diablo III Beta System Requirements
Okay I've got a school laptop which is really bad..

    Processor: Intel® Core ™2 Duo CPU T6570 @ 2.10GHz 2.10 GHz
    RAM: 2.00 GB
Graphics card: Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family

Do you think it will be able to run D3? I'd be happy to just run it on minimum graphics, (like I do on all games). But it's far below minimum, so need advice?

My brother has a laptop with these specs:

    Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 CPU Q 720 @ 1.60GHz 1.60 GHz
    RAM: 6.00 GB
Graphics card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

Will that run D3 good? How do you think it'll go?

My other brother has a Dell XPS M1530 laptop that he doesn't use anymore.. not sure about specs, but that seemed to have been a good laptop back in the day.

I've considered buying my own desktop for gaming and stuff. But since I'm only 16 with no job, I haven't got much money. I'd be looking for a computer under $1000.. I looked on alienware website and everything is heaps expensive. I considered the X51 desktop: http://www.dell.com/...lienware-x51/fs

I can afford $1300 desktop (just..), but is it worth it? Would the X51 run any game on good graphics, and how many years would it last? Any tips on where I can find a desktop less than $1000 AUS that can run D3 and other decent games? And how do you think the 3 laptops above would run D3 (full game, not just beta)? (Sorry for big post and heaps of questions, I'm a noob :D).

I know that these questions are probably common, and yes I've already checked for myself - I'm pretty sure my graphics card and processors are too crappy. BUT I heard that some computers below the minimal requirements may still be able to run D3, just very very poorly. (This is my school provided laptop, hence it being built only for educational purposes lololol) Specs are:

    HP laptop, Windows 7 Professional.
    Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM)2 Duo CPU T6570 @ 2.10GHz 2.10 GHz
    RAM: 2.00 GB
Graphics card: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
    32-bit operating system.
    20GB+ available space on laptop.

Do you think my laptop will be able to install and run D3? Even if it is really bad?

I'm level 51 in nightmare now. I've made a Lore helm, and Spirit crystal sword. Next I'm going to make Gloom body and maybe Rhyme shield. At the moment though it's super easy lol, my hammers do heaps of damage and my resistances are high enough that I hardly get hurt much. I'm just going to rush through NM till Baal, do runs to get level 60-70, then start Hell mode. And later on maybe make better runeword items.

Wow thanks for the advice. Problem is though, I'm already level 47 Hammderin in NM now. xD And I want to stick to the hammerdin. My main goal originally was to just beat hell mode before D3 comes out - finding a bunch of good items is a bonus. I understand that my time is limited, and since it's just SP I wasn't really planning on trying to get any amazing items like enigma anyway.

Instead I'm just going to rush NM, do baal runs to get level 70, then beat hell mode. Along the way I'll do boss runs for exp and hope for rare items. I'll also do boss runs for runes (hell mode countess?) and make a bunch of runeword items. I dunno why, but I love making runeword items. xD

I'm going to make stuff like lore, splendor, delirium, honor, rhyme, gloom.. and just experiment. My hammderin should be good enough to beat hell with crappy items anyway, so it's no problem. Then I'll make him look pretty with lots of runeword items, feel proud, and then play D3 the moment it's released. :D

posted a message on Questions on Hammerdin?
Okay so I've got level 29 hammerdin, and I've just been holding left click down to spam my hammers. It owns, but I've read that you need to hold shift to create a "hammer field".. and I don't understand? When I hold shift it doesn't appear to be much different to when I'm normally left clicking. Either way, my hammers still come out and spiral outwards slightly to rape everything around me.

Anyone know what holding shift actually does?

Also, mana has been a problem since start with my hammers. I've changed my potion setup to first 3 rows health, 4th row mana. I found a unique axe which gives 14 to resistances and 6 mana per kill though, so I'm using that and I can spam hammers continuously (at level 29 :D). I'm just wondering though, how can I fix the mana issue later on? In nightmare/ hell modes, what is an easy unique item that I should try and get to fix mana problem? (or easy runeword items that I could make?)

PS: I'm playing single player, so all items/ runes have to be found by myself. I'll do lots of boss runs in hell mode later though, so that isn't a problem. I'm just playing D2 till D3 comes out. :D

Okay so I've decided to play through D2 again and beat hell mode before D3 comes out (I've never beaten hell mode). I'm playing single player, and have never played mutliplayer either (as you can tell I haven't done much). I've made a Hammerdin and am level 25, following a common PvM build:

    http://www.diablo2.com/forum/akounts-hammerdin-guide-t13044.html?amp;t=13044

Since I'm in single player though, trying to get the items/ gear that's listed on those builds is extremely hard? In fact, I've actually got no idea how to get those rare items. Like, where can you find ring of jordan's, mara's kaleidoscope and arachnid mesh, etc etc?? Do you just kill hell-mode baal over and over, or hell-mode countess?

I'm only level 25 and in normal at the moment though, so I'm just using whatever items I find along the way (doesn't really matter). But I want to find some really good gear when I beat hell. Any tips/locations on how/where you guys would find all of the gear listed in hammerdin guide above? Thanks!

Well the necromancer was boring because he isn't very "involved". All you have to do is summon skeletons, golum, etc and cast curses. But you don't do any of the actual fighting. After playing over and over as a summoner it's just boring. I'm playing single player as paladin, and I'm going to make a hammerdin.. hopefully I can beat hell before May 15th, and then play Diablo 3.

I don't think it matters what character/build I use though - you're right, after playing D2 storyline and acts about "5 gajillion times", it's not as exciting anymore. But I still want to beat hell with a powerful build, just so that I can have accomplished that. xD

posted a message on Should I play through D2 again?
Okay so on D2 I never beat hell mode and I never played online for very long.. I always played single player offline. Why? Well I was pretty young at the time and the game was obviously harder for a 12 year old, and I got bored of starting new characters and doing the same storyline over and over. The furthest I managed was a summoner necromancer to the end of nightmare (which became VERY boring, just clicking summon over and over, standing behind minions and waiting).

Now I feel like I haven't accomplished enough. Since D3 is going to always be online and have hell and inferno modes, and I'm 16 (bit older, smarter, more dedicated video gamer), I want to play D3 really well. So I'm considering starting a D2 character, and playing through the whole game (beat hell and all). Do this before D3 comes out, so I've got some practice and experience in the higher difficulties.

First, should I do this offline single player or online? Someone mentioned that the online ladders are resetting on May 2nd. Should I wait for that and play then, or just do single player? I've got no experience playing online at all, and I honestly prefer diablo to be single player, since that's how I've always played it.

Which character should I play? I'm not doing my necromancer anymore, it's just too dull. Summoning is boring for me, and to be honest, it's far too easy. I made an incredible summoner build which killed anything in nightmare, but it was repetitive and slow. I'm thinking of making a hammerdin or something - something really strong that I can just breeze through hell mode with. Any ideas?

Okay I haven't played Beta so I'm not 100% on any of this, it's just what I've read off the internet. But.....
    aaaaaaaaaaaaaand /thread

No, I admitted that I didn't fully understand what I was talking about from the start. Then I asked some questions - and got 3 pages of discussion and answers. I've read every post and let me tell you, I'm completely convinced. xD After reading all this, looking at D3 website and videos, I understand how everything works. D3 is going to be epic to play, I can't wait for May 15th.

Someone above said that you could just have one Barbarian at level 60 now, and you would never have to start another one. You can just swap skills and change how he plays. So for example, could I have a level 60 wizard who had different gear sets? Like one gear set purely for a spellcaster, another gear set for melee wizard? (Plus different skills and runes)? So with the single character, I can change builds without needing to create another wizard? If so, that's sick.

I'd give up eating and sleeping. I love them very much... but all heroes must make sacrifices in order to save Sanctuary.

Just a couple of interesting posts you could read:
    http://www.reddit.co...possible_build/
    http://us.battle.net...opic/3811455085
    http://www.diablofan...ics-blue-posts/

There are countless topics and many blue responces on the topic...

Those links helped heaps.. I watched the youtube videos on why attribute and skill points were removed. Makes alot of sense now.

Just wondering - what's the deal with respecs? In D3 will it be possible to just re-choose your skills whenever you want, for free, instantly? Or do you need to pay for respec? Or is that not even in the game?

Hmm thanks for all posts! Helped me understand things a bit better. Fair enough, the customization of D3 isn't as bad as I said in first post.. but I'll still miss the stat point system. :(

Lol sorry, as you can see I'm new and have posted like hardly anything. I was like, "ooh wonder what peepz gonna play as" xD and made this thread straight away.

I've also noticed nobody else has voted Witch doctor like me. :( Looks like I'm the only one who likes summoning zombie dogs and frogs..
