Having no items in the digital deluxe / collectors edition for Battle for Azeroth has me thinking there will be no updates or anything for D3.

It could mean they are hiding the Diablo goodies to avoid spoilers.
battle for azeroth releases two and a half months before blizzcon. diablo won't get anything really newsworthy there and the only people communicating might be the social media team. well, they try to establish the image of someone from blizzard who can write stuff about diablo.
face it, this game is still dying a slow, painful death.

posted a message on Diablo 1 with the HD mod is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had

this is the same as that d2 mod. and all they do is pump some nerd's fantasies by enabling characters to launch a thousand projectiles to combat foes which launch another thousand projectiles. it has nothing to do with the creepy dungeon crawling we used to play back in '96.

it just doesn't have any appeal and just lacks creativity. pass after seeing the trailer.

don‘t expect to be understood here. most of the last 100 diablo 3 players seem to be here and would never accept the state of the game.

"Being neglected"? This is the 36th challenge rift and the first one where the chosen clear is really one of the top clears. This was a request by the community for a long time ("make challenge rifts really challenging"). I think realizing an idea brought forward by the community is the opposite of "neglecting". But that's just me :)

also: turning one minor request for one minor sub-feature in one mediocre feature of a dead game in maintenance mode isn't a prime example for "we listen!!1". it is more or less one lucky catch, extremely hard for most people from what i've heard.

    Quote from GoatKiller»

Ok everybody calm their tits. They said there wasn't going to be any new announcements at Blizzcon like a month ago. Still plenty of stuff to do in the upcoming season with all the old builds coming back. Bored with seasons? Go play HC. Still bored? Go play other games and come back when they add something new. Whats the big deal?!

the big deal is, that they have a house convention and a 20 year anniversary of the franchise. you either time your schedules to accomodate the con to be able to feature d3:x2 or d4 or you at least try to add some content and works or celebration in some way. you don't just go through your WHOLE portfolio and leave ONE game completely out.
and sorry, to cop out and say "we have nothing to offer this year" doesn't make it right or does the franchise any justice. they really have only a skeleton crew working on d3 at the moment, they could really just admit that.

and you even see a big necromancer on the blizzcon logo. it is so very sad to not even whip up some small event or something.

i really do hope they are working on d4, i think they really abandoned d3 / RoS.

posted a message on Developer Chronicles - Rift Fishing

the concept in itself is flawed. i want to vanquish the foes of hell and not the guy in front of me on a leaderboard. other than that, what is the point in doing a slightly different playstyle compared to a normal rift? and why are randomized tilesets with randomized foes something which is widely considered as playable and cool, while other games had a given monster populace designated to a specific area?

why do i have to suffer a lakuni in a swamp, when they were desert beings? it is one of those things were you are completely baffled when you play a normal campaign mode and encounter act 1 mobs in their according act 1 zones and they come in small groups instead of progress packs for GR pushing..

okay, it is impossible to create this thread with the post from joe shely because of some non latin unicode characters. i tried to kill all of them but it wouldn't let me.

anyway: nothing new or interesting or insightful to see here.

Quick thought; can they just be called primal legendaries? Primal ancient legendary just is a little gobbled up ya know?

Obviously no one will call them primal ancient. Primal is just fine. Just like most people say "I found an ancient item" and not an "ancient legendary item".

Well yea haha I know WE will. I'm talking about how to me it looks silly on the weapon: Primal Ancient Legendary Two Handed Axe. But that's just mo.

Lol ye I'm very much looking forward to finding Primal Ancient Legendary Ancient Parthan Defenders
    :D

As to whether these primals are a good thing or not, I think it's nice to have items to hunt for.

I mean, loothunt wasn't part of the game anymore as it's literally raining legs, it was a stathunt not a loothunt so I like the idea of having a range of rare legs.

The way they've done it though is a little dissapointing, just adding some main stat and a little dmg.

Hoped they could've used their imagination a little bit more.

using their imagination a bit more would result in them creating new items with fluff text, possible lore connections and new / unique effects. instead they tweak and change existing items, modify some game modes and let the game move on with no real impact. they change numbers, we kill bigger numbers with even bigger numbers and all "progress" feels hollow.
"uhh, i beat GR121 yesterday! it was exhilarating!" wow. that sounds great. how about the time we managed to kill our first hell lord de seis in the chaos sanctuary? THAT sounds like a name. GR121 could be some planet. yawn.
and now they tweak everything a bit more so that we could beat GR125 one day. "BUT IT HAS XX% MORE DIFFICULTY! DON'T YOU RECOGNIZE MY ACCOMPLISHMENT?!"

i wouldn't count set dungeons, empowered rifts or buff bars as content. you don't really create something meaningful which then translates to a more interesting story for a game.

So, following this train of thought - the armory and crafting mat UI also aren't content, just small QoL additions.

uhm, yes? you really wouldn't count them as content as in "enter a whole new zone with new horrors, discover a village teeming with quests and rich rewards an uncover a sinister plot below the graveyard!", would you? it is some interface fluff.

set dungeons are content. It's just not grind content.
the thing is: same mobs, same maps. one life, victory conditions to be met in a time frame. it is content for a few hours until you have the wings.
