    This video was made on the PTR last night, so after the meteor coefficient nerf. The signature spells are all incredibly weak, including spectral blades which has an awful casting animation. Last night post-nerf I tried WW, star pact, and liquify and felt like I was getting the most from starpact, but this was with only 17 APOC (source + helm). With another 10 APOC liquify might pass star pact, but I need to find a weapon with APOC and lifesteal in order to try it.

    On that note, I tried stacking life on hit but found it vastly inferior to using lifesteal, which is why I was also using the blood magic rune (for 4.2% total lifesteal) instead of a slowtime rune. Slowtime might be better though for more DPS if I had better defensive gear.

    Out of curiousity, have you tried replacing blur with glass cannon? It'd probably be a lot easier of a choice if we knew how much of a damage increase the mobs get from each MP level but it seems like no one has quite figured that out, or they're just waiting for live since they could tweak it before release.

    This is with only 17 AP on crit. It is MP 10, you can see the MP in the top right corner near the clock.

    I used blur for the video because I thought it would be safer... I havn't really tried to optimize too much because I don't want to spend too much time on the PTR. I've been doing this mostly to test if the builds worked. With better gear I'm sure glass cannon is the right choice, and it might even be the right choice for this gear.

    The damage is really not all that high, even on MP10. I havn't really tested it, but it feels like the original inferno in terms of damage. My guess is that it's 10% per MP level, so +100% at MP10 over MP0, which is 25% less than live.

    Here's another video of me killing Odeg, this time using Liquify instead of Starpact. It didn't work as well, mostly because I was very AP limited. I'm not sure which would be better with more APOC.


    Here is one last one... in this one at the beginning I am trying out a WW spec and die to an elite pack. I switch to star pact and go back and kill them. Even after the nerfs, I like starpact more than WW. It does more DPS and I felt like I was getting more procs out of it.


    Oh, one last interesting note... the skeleton in the video is from my Litany of the Undaunted + The Wailing Host ring set. That Skeleton's HP scales by MP level! At MP10 he is a monster tank. Just an FYI, it probably works for the demon from Maximus too.

    Gear and spec at the end. The gear is not optimal, so I think with slightly better gear it will still work fine for ubers.

With things the way they are, the ring would proc far too often for those skills with really high coefficients and my understanding is the proc on the ring hits for A LOT.

    This is a good point... maybe once I get the first hellfire ring farming the rest won't be so bad if WW is proccing it very quickly.

    I notice that in all of these you are doing Bridge and in none of them are you doing Crater 2. I'm a little surprised at leaving out Crater 2, because I think the scorpion packs are amazing XP. I know people complain about the deadends in the craters, but for both of them I just run straight towards the exit (its usually easy to pick the right path) and clear what's on the way. If I happen to chose wrong I either skip the rest or clear backwards from the exit.

    Also, with the Bridge... are you clearing fields of slaughter? I know the barbs do it, but for a wizard I've found it to be kind of bad because of there being so much open space between the groups of mobs, and there only being 2-3 elite packs in the rather large area. I take that WP but run straight to Rakkis and clear all of Rakkis, which is nice and linear and has high mob density. Are you doing Rakkis?

    I haven't tried tracking my exp gains as a function of time though.

    The XP/hour is super easy to track - just mouseover your XP bar at the beginning of your run, take a screenshot, and then do it again once you finish. The screenshots will have the time on the clock and your XP.

    I am on the fence with Depths 3... I've done it before but lately I've been skipping it... sometimes it is just great, and sometimes its completely awful. The inconsistency irritates me, so that's why I've skipped it lately.

    I just farmed a key on MP10 on the PTR with the new changes... I had to switch to WW from meteor, and with WW, 1.7 attack speed, 45% crit and 17 APOC I was able to stunlock single elites, but man it is SLOW. Even with 120k DPS it took me forever to kill the keywarden.

    I'm trying to figure out what the best XP farming route is for paragon leveling as an Archon wizard.

    So far the best I've come up with is a modified Alkaizer route in which I go Core > Tower of the Damned 1 > Bridge of Korsik WP but skip mosts of fields and run straight through to Rakkis and clear all of Rakkis > Keep Depths 2 > Crater 1 > Crater 2.

    I've measured my XP over about 10 runs and it's been pretty consistent: the runs average about 20 minutes and about 11mil XP, for a total of 33mil per hour. There is variance, as the runs take as little as 18 mins and as long as 23, and the XP per hour can be as little as 9mil and as much as 13-14mil. So its somewhere in the 30-35mil per hour range over time, average of 33mil per hour. This is with a 29% XP gem, but no other +XP gear such as leorics.

    Not posting this to brag or anything, I just want to find out if anybody has a better route I could run. Has anybody gotten more XP per hour consistently with a different route?

    I havn't really tried optimizing the build at all yet... I've just been busy with work/family and havn't had much time to play, and they brought the PTR down for maintenance tonight. I think that rune is worth giving a shot for sure. I also think with better gear force armor wouldn't be necessary, or blur. Probably there's no reason to use glass cannon over cold blooded either, and both would be better if possible. There is plenty of room for improvement.

    This build is not optimal. My gear is not optimal. I am geared for Archon and just swapped out 3 pieces (wand, Stormcrow helm, and bracers). I think with better gearing and a better optimized build this can be improved, but as you can see it handles Monster Power 10.

    I'm going to farm up some keys for the ubers and I'll make videos of them when I get a chance.

    I definitely think a CM melee build is best suited for MP10, though a kiting build might work depending on the mechanics of the bosses. It would take forever to kill elites with a kiting build though.

    I didn't time it, so this is just a guess, but I would say probably about 30-45 seconds? That would be something like 650k-1mil DPS, which seems about right considering the constant explosive blast + meteor spam? Also, the trash packs were dying easily/quickly, and the XP was really pretty absurd. I was dying too much to trash though, which was slowing it down, but I am attributing that to my incredibly bad EHP since I was set up for force armor archon before. I'll do some more testing on it this evening, and time some kills, and post the results.

    Like I posted above, I really didn't have any trouble getting started with Star Pact and Explosive Blast, having only 17 APOC and 93 AP total. So I'm not sure what all this worry is? With the CC changes, the initial frost nova lasts a long time. I was on MP10 with very low EHP, i.e. everything could kill me in 1-2 shots, and I was able to kill elite packs.
