They said they plan to have a bigger gap between seasons. We might see current season end before the holidays, and MAYBE get the patch, but the new season won't start til after, to address any bugs. At the same time, season could end before end of month, no patch til Jan 5th/6th, then season starts on 8th.
couldve swore at blizzcon they said we will be seeing it late december, was i dreaming?

Actually, it directly does affect people trying to test things on the PTR, when they cannot even make a game for 1hr, 2hr, 10hrs, etc. cause everyone is like "LOL Legendaries raining from the sky!"
PTR - Public Test Realm, for testing new changes for a patch, not having a lootfest cause the needs of the PTR require people to loot more items. "Fun" is to be had on the live servers. Testing of new mechanics is for the PTR.

Well, unsure if it does more damage based on more fury or less... but the damage of the cleave would be 300% on the low end, and 400% on the high end. It will never do less than 300% weapon damage, or more than 400% weapon damage. At least that is how I see the text implying the effect.

Plus, from what I can tell, both games lack gamepad support, or even a launcher/options of any sorts.Posted in: News

That is the point of Legendaries though, to be build and gameplay changers. Otherwise it is "Using X skill? Stack Attack Speed/Crit Hit and Damage/Cooldown Reduction, in this order..."Quote from SinR
can we please do away with builds that require certain pieces of gear? Or at least not showcase them on the front page?
Gear that changes HOW abilities work, is what makes different builds. -

what a load of bliz PR horseshit, the section on pvp and the launch is just crap, "In terms of the actual game, our development team had total say on if and when Diablo III was ready for release, and we shipped it only after we felt it had met our vision for what a great game could be on day 1."
Really? GREAT?
i would barely rate it sub-par on day one, based on connectivity and server issues alone.
So, you have say 2mil people play on your Open Beta weekend, figuring there will be a fair bit more for launch, maybe double that, based on pre-order info from retailers and digital orders + annual pass.
Turns out your estimations were off by about 100%.
HOW do you plan for that? Overcompensate to the point of ridiculousness, only to have to sit with unused hardware (refering to your connectivity and server issues).
I think they did damn well, considering that their servers got so heavily flooded on launch, they had no idea it was gonna be that bad. And Mike Morhaime ADMITTED TO IT. They planned based on expectations from retailer info and digital sales. The fact it doubled that or something crazy was beyond their scope of knowledge. Would you like them to start working with Ms Cleo to determine what the playerbase and customer wants, to try and pre-emp all our demands and interests? -
May 22, 2012ZeroEdgeir posted a message on Diablo 3 Patch 1.0.2.9749 Coming SoonFor those with ATI cards, I will say this: I have a Radeon HD 6670, and when I updated to the 12.x drivers, I went from stable, to having blue screens (only like once every 2-3 days, but it was always a graphic driver failure).Posted in: News
I rolled back to 11.8 (which was my previous driver update), and I have had no graphical issues, or blue screens, anywhere, since then.
Alot of complaints exist on the web of the 12.x drivers being horribly unstable, regardless of which video card you got with ATI. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Except, had the concept of Inferno never been brought to release, we would have had Hell as it was (maybe a bit harder), and people would have complained it was too easy.
And given the state of Legendaries and such, if you could clear Hell, and that is all there was to do, would you really keep farming for gear that was most likely not so great (see: Sets/Legendaries)?
As to buffing all resist... no. I play one of those fun melee wizards, running the Prismatic Rune on my Energy Armor. You would double the effectiveness of that rune with your idea. I'd be in Act 2 of Inferno with over 1300 to All Resists. How would I NOT wind up ripping through the game like it was nothing (short of DPS checks cause, ya know, enrage timers make sense in this type of game /eyeroll).

Drop rates might be low, yes (and expectedly so), but since Legendaries have mostly fixed stats, they will generally have top-performing numbers, and their random property or two that they get, will just add some variety.

Inconsequential point. Experience levels barely restricted you to gear above level what.... 60-70?
The 5 stat points (meh), and 1 skill point (different system now) was all you got. And really, not THAT big a deal. So 1 skill got slightly stronger each level... ooo... ahhh.... not impressed. Numerical value on "levels" is pointless.
Hell, you could clear Hell difficulty of Diablo 2 at like level 60 or so. So, those last levels were just a grind... ESPECIALLY Level 99, who's total XP was equal to the total XP from 1-98. Not what I would call stellar end-game content, by any measure.

Set Items are Legendaries. They don't occupy a different drop chance on the table.
This is why their text may be green, but the inventory background is the same colour as any other legendary: Brownish-bronze.

Or it could be that Mike has the gist of the story, and rather than have someone from the dev team like Jay or Wyatt write this up, he did, so they could keep working.
And it isn't Jay Wilson's philosophy of "When it's done"... that is Blizzard's philosophy. It is part of why we never saw StarCraft: Ghost. Console market changed while being developed, and 2 of the 3 console companies (Microsoft and Sony) didn't want a game for the Xbox/PS2, but for their new 360/PS3, which would have required a total re-work of the game, that had already taken like 6 years and multiple developers. This is why they stick to PC games otherwise. Hardware doesn't change as much, and they can develop for a median performance goal.

As today's update from Mike Morhaime just shed light on, the Legendary/Set buff is coming in patch 1.0.4 (not the originally slated patch 1.1), so it is closer. And the buffs won't be retroactive, so it only applies to new Legendary items drops/crafts (keep in mind: Identifying an item is merely a formality. Item stats are rolled with the drop of the item, not the identification).

You mean grinding for items... just like Diablo 2... Diablo... Titan's Quest... DarkSpore... once you reach level cap and story's end, isn't what the game is about?
I'm sorry, when did Diablo 3 become an MMO with content updates and extensions, on a 3-4 month basis? Where is the subscription fee you pay for such developments? Not to mention, even if this WAS an MMO (which seems to be the implication by many with the whole "there is no endgame" or "endgame is dead"), you'd be still waiting at LEAST 2 more months for any new content.
You are a better player now than you were when Diablo 2 first came out. Experience and Skill did make the game "easier" for you. Blizzard, or any game company, cannot design games around "the elite" players only, because that is not a profitable market (no matter how much you try to claim otherwise, it isn't).
OT: Glad to hear about many things that are coming out for the game. I just hope at least Patch 1.0.4 comes soon, like end of July/beginning of August time-frame. I don't wanna find any more pre-buff Legendaries!

You are likely encountering a different error. This error is strictly to stop the creation of many games over and over and over in a short time span, which causes server instability.

In practice... it depends.
Are you able to stand there and rifle off shot after shot, to make the faster attack speed mean something?
If you are a kiter, then it has SOME merit, letting you make those shots you make between running happen faster (shorter attack/cast animation), however, the full benefit is lost to you.
Attack speed does increase your Damage Per Second. This, however, is not directly related to your Weapon Damage %. Attack Speed doesn't change the Damage Range of a weapon, only how often it swings.
If you have 0% Attack Speed now, and your attacks do 1000 Damage, even with 6% Attack Speed, they will still do 1000 Damage, it will just be 6% faster between attacks.
DPS =/= Weapon Damage
Stats that directly impact weapon damage: Primary Attribute, +X Min/Max Damage (Rings, Amulets, Wizard and Witch Doctor offhands)
Stats that indirectly impact weapon damage: Critical Hit Chance and Critical Hit Damage. These are not 100% constant (since 100% Critical Hit Chance isn't possible to the best of my knowledge), but more criticals does make for bigger hits.
Stats that do not impact weapon damage: Attack Speed. This only makes you attack faster, not make weapons do more damage per attack.

I tried the enter and immediately portal out.
I left, cool. I go back, and re-enter the dungeon manually: Timer was still moving (was down to 2min 10sec when I re-entered), from the original 3min you get.
So that part is horribly incorrect.

Depends on the build. Some benefit from the MH+OH combo for faster attacks, others the big, slow hits of a 2H. Then you got the crazy melee tank wizards (like me) who use MH+Shield.

You lose 1 stack of NV for changing a rune of an existing skill you are using
You lose 2 stacks of NV for changing a skill or passive to a completely different one.
This way, you can tweak your build a little bit, and not get reset entirely.

This right here sums it up.
Those who typically visit forums (official or fansite) to complain, are amongst the minority. The majority of players are playing the game, and not caring.
There are some of us that both goto the forums AND enjoy playing the game.
But it is basic human reaction:
If something is done well and you enjoy it, you might tell a couple people.
If something is done poorly and you do not find it enjoyable, you will try to tell EVERYONE.
Now, those two sides are very subjective, as it comes down to being based on personal taste and opinion.
Just don't go judging Diablo 3 v1.0.3 against Diablo 2: LoD at Patch v1.12+. There is kind of YEARS of development that made Diablo 2 as great as it was. It wasn't so amazing at launch or before LoD.
OT: I am at roughly 400 hours played, still on every day. Trying to get my Wizard's gear up enough to survive in Act 3 (Melee wizard, so don't just tell me to go kiting with Blizzard/Hydra, I hated the gameplay of it, and I despise being a glass cannon).
