How far do you want to take this though? If every chest that drops already has 3 sockets, aren't you just gonna say "no vitality, useless!"? If every weapon already rolled with a socket and crit damage you would still throw 90% away because they lack things like loh/life steal.
The only reason socketed gear is mandatory for playing is because they are the best by such a large margin its hilarious. If they can itemize so that even non socketed items are better than current socketed items then it works.

Was in first wave of closed Beta invites way back in early December. Really enjoyed my time in Beta, especially the new Crusader class. Never been much of a group person in the game but figured id give it a shot with the new expansion. My gear isnt great but all my characters were naked when I came back and new expansion soon so it wont matter anyways.

To be honest no you cant. Itemization was designed around there being an AH to buy gear. The only way you could ever play 100% self found will be after they fix itemization or add more BoA gear. I have been wanting to gear out my barb and play him some and figured Id use my Monk to farm gear for him. During the last month my Barb is still naked save crafted BoA gear. I havent found a single thing he can use that isnt on par with level 30-40 gear. Theres a reason people who try and play self found have just terrible gear. Its not that they arent trying its because they just dont get anything to drop thats worth using. I really hope they fix that part of the game. It takes away from the game when you just hit the AH as soon as you ding 60 and buy gear. You have nothing to look foward to when farming. But if you try to play with only gear you find yourself you get burned out because it seems like everything that drops goes straight to the vendors.

I play TR Monk. At most with my gear since I only have 250 resists I could maybe pull off MP4-5.
Also even before MPs were added people were getting lots of great loot which is how people were in 500 mil gear just months after the game was released.

Cause they did an awesome job of this before launch a year ago. I bet my farm there wasnt even a real beta test pre-launch.

Barbs can Rend spam which is why they can do MP 10 Keeps 2 or Crater 2
Monks have Exploding Palm and Wave of Light which again lets them easily do MP 10 Keeps 2 or Crater 2
CM/WW will never take damage unless the player is full retard
WDs have so much Crowd Control and utility its silly.
DHs are squishy and have no hard hitting ability that lets them farm insane EXP like Barbs and Monks. 1.08 better fix that. I mean the class cant possibly get worse can it? Are they trying to make DHs worse than Witch Doctors were at launch?

Bought a pair of pants almost identical to yours. 14k DPS loss compared to my Innas. Regardless of MS being over rated a DPS loss isnt.
