Would also have to echo Years of War. Mained a wizard, geared a DH - I levelled 3x lvl 60 gems for use on the DH (which means a minimum of 45 rifts, but probably closer to 50-60) and by the end of it, I had full UE set with 3x ancients, proper belt (had a witching hour laying around), decent bracers, a deadman's legacy etc... Then it was just a case of rolling a few bows to a yangs and I had a DH that could farm T10 to finish the other set(s) to get another 1-2 55's done. I probably spent about 17-20K blood shards in total by the time I had finished both marauder and UE sets, which aren't a ton when I get up to 5K per hour.

Just keep using your main to farm shards and roll gear untill it can comfortably start T10 - there's no point trying to gear a second char up through the tiers, will take you WAY longer. I ended up doing Years of war with firebirds, tal rasha, Delsere's MO on wizard, and Shadow's, Marauder and UE on my DH (shadows kinda sucked though, would not recommend :s).

    Quote from Pleiszter»

Using battle rage spends fury. The loss of damage comes from not being at max fury for a second or so. Switch out beserker rage to see for yourself.

To further elaborate, you're using Berserker rage. You need to be within 5-6 fury of your max for that to work. Using battle rage costs 20, and your BK weapons restore 10/sec. That's why it dips, goes back up after 1.5 seconds (15 fury regained), then dips a little again after 3 seconds (when taeguk falls off).

Upon further exploration it may have been as of 2.1.

    Yep. 2.0 to 2.1;

Here's a video of some guy showcasing belts as of 2.0.6: https://youtu.be/-A3i2rqQNFc?t=3m26s - while it's not an ingame WH, you can see the view page is different from the current one.

Here's a video of a lvl 60 witching hour being ID'd, and one being worn:

Do remember that some affixes are weighted aswell - I don't recall the exact numbers, but in general, Vitality and Mainstat are 4 times as likely to roll on an item, than a vast majority of other items.

NVM, google fu is strong, here's the page:

    http://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/288xch/datamined_rarity_of_all_affixes_calculating_your/

So 4 times as likely to roll vit as any skill-affix. That means that if you lay all the affixes out together, it has:

    Dex

    Dex

    Dex

    Dex

    Vit

    Vit

    Vit

    Vit

    Life%

    Regen

    Bola

    Entangling

    Hungering

    Evasive

    Grenade

In Mikhail's case. It also explains why you see things like elite dmg / reduc roll so rarely on weapons/offhands/chests etc, it's at a 100 point-score with "normal" affixes at 1000, and Vit/mainstat at 4000. 40 times more likely to see a vit roll than an elite damage reduction on chest :P.

    Uh. What.

That's not true, just so you know. I've found multiple belts pre-2.2 without a skill-affix attached. I even have one here on this wizard I used in Season 1:

http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Draco-2719/hero/47461014 (IAS rolled off as you can see, because it was / is shitty for firebirds).

Haven't actually touched that char since the season ended, which is why it has zero ancient items (started playing DH at end of season 1 and during the time between the two/during S2). Obviously I can't link you a drop date, but I've even got banked ones from pre-2.2 that's rolled mainstat/vit/critdmg/IAS.

I don't get the disparity with Kadala? Does anyone or has anyone ever used her to get yellows deliberately? is that an early game thing?

Why can't they adjust her output to be relatively 50-50 minimally? Wouldn't be a complete fix but it would ease it tremendously.

Before the blood shard change (5 shard per item), Kadala was a giant source of materials. They buffed the drop amount of veileds to compensate for that from rift guardians.

You know, I've seen all these posts about all the yellows and no blues and I started paying attention.

Typically in all forms of the game, the yellows and blues drop fairly even, up or down a bit one way or the other EXCEPT from Kadala.

Now, if you take that thought and combine it with speed farming regular rifts for legendaries and not picking up anything else, you're royally screwing yourself on inventory balance.

To try and realign the disparity of Kadala I've taken to picking up blues n whites on regular rift runs and yellows only from Kadala or actual veiled crystals if they hit the ground ( because they stack and take up no room on person while running).

My inventory balance is much better now.

Rift boss kills also reward ~3 times as many yellow shards compared to blue dust. Even while picking up every blue I get in a rift, kadala+rift guard makes me gain yellow shards quicker.

I agree, forget anything other than slow crossbows when playing frost cluster arrow builds. Attack speed is completely irrelevant, it is worst stat now, I would take anything over it.
Unless you've got a kridershot, in which case your generator will also be critting for +100M and AOE'ing packs down plus triggering from your sentries, and AS is just fine <.<.

    Quote from RiffSphere»

Legacy of Nightmares set (litany/wailing) looked very strong on monk when the unity passive got introduced, then the passive got capped at 20%. People were actually trying to make builds around those 2 rings, with high attackspeed to spam skeletons, to boost damage with the passive. Sadly, blizzard decided this would become too strong and prevented it :(. But this comes to show that, no matter how bad something looks, there can be OP builds with it.

Something like this would also make all items useful, since every class could have a different item to be best in slot.

There's probably a higher chance that they capped it, because they didn't want people to run around and attempt to get ahold of legacy items to make their build, than because it would have been too overpowered. Much the same way they decided to limit the potency of the zero-dog WD spec that required legacy items to work.

posted a message on I know its RNG and all that but is this really fair?...on the verge of quitting
Except it's still RNG - there's just a lower chance to luck out and get something than there are others because they have weighted drop chances. I got two calamity's from random rifts in less than an hour earlier tonight (Calamity is the furnace of demon hunters, just FYI). That's all random. It's a good thing that the most powerfull of all items are rare, because it gives us something to work towards, and when they finally drop, it gives us a sense of accomplishment. If I got five furnaces every week just by playing, then I wouldn't really care about the fact that I found the BiS weapon. Same way you don't really give a shit that you're wearing "insert-set-piece-X" here, despite the set being build defining and BiS.

In most cases, you can deal with jailers by outranging them (if you spot them before they smash you). Your pets will "tank" them, throw down turrets almost out of screen where they are, and hide behind a corner untill they die. I actually had more issue with thunderstorm myself.

Why do you bother with all resistance gems in the legs? Why do you have elemental arrow on helm when cluster arrow is the biggest dmg part of your build?

Infinite smoke screen = go with 2M toughness and don't give a shit, meaning every single stat on every single piece of gear can be dedicated to damage, rather than trying to survive a tick of thunderstorm/frozen/jailer etc, giving lightning an advantage. It's that simple.

posted a message on When does season one end?
If the seasons lasted for 3 months Im done. They need to make them last as long as they did in diablo 2. Any casual player can do the same thing as top players. It is the fact that you are a CASUAL player that you are so far behind. Just because people are at the top of the leader boards doesn't mean they are using exploits. Don't complain about stupid inane things.
I'm not sure if you actually are trolling or not, but you bumped a topic that's more than a month old. There *was* an exploit in the first week or so of the season where you'd be able to gain insane amounts of exp by starting a greater rift, and teleporting to town while your friends cleared it (thus dipping into the 1600% exp buff on things that already gave a decent amount of exp), which people zoomed straight to +600 paragon with in a matter of a day or two. So yea, a lot of people *did* in fact exploit. At this point it's less noticeable, as everyone has had time to catch up etc, but holy shit dude, check dates.

@chadwx -- Would you have to reroll the 93% crit damage? That's tough, but Bane of the Trapped with a properly-geared Templar (Thunderfury, etc.) is very very good, especially on RG, because the +% damage is multiplicative like Zei's. Damage-wise it's strictly better than Toxin, but Toxin has the hard-to-quantify benefit of making corrupted angels killable.
Ya, i had to roll off something else to get crit damage or a socket. Noticed it on the jade doc the other day, builds that cant crit doesnt seem to get much from crit damage, compared to say a dh.

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Chadwixx-1438/hero/20787708

    Thanks

Itirnitii, if thats your only problem maybe look into the invigorating gem stone (on high grifts). It reduces frozen by a lot and gives you a sec to move. You could do a xeph neck, force armor for jailer and invigorating gem. Would take care of the unavoidable spells
Crit dmg will be factored in to the size of your dots. Firebirds dot, jade wizard dots, doesn't matter, they will raise the damage of the dot with a set amount equal to what you would get (on average) if you were not using dots.
