Ahhh...yes, now I remember. Sorry, I've added quite a few people recently. I'm playing non-season for the meantime, but switching over to season 4 this Friday.

Yeah I noticed they aren't for damage. Haven't really specifically geared one like you described. Definitely something to really pay attention to as I make a serious run in S4 HC

Add me if you play (NA) servers.

Templar is great in that he has heals (which have effectively saved me from triggering my fatal passive more than a few times). He also has a stun attack that comes in handy. I try to set mine up with Eun-Jang-Do dagger, Freeze of Deflection Shield, Ess of Johan amulet, Occulus Ring with double IAS (can stack to 18%) and a Unity.

The best use of a follower, especially in HC, is not damage. Rather, you want crowd control mitigation. A Templar set up like this (at least in 2.2) can darn near perma-lock a RG once he gets below 20% health.

There are other CC set-ups you can use. Such as Wyrdward ring with Thunderfury, or you can stack up DPS if you like, to some effect.

@Atyio ~ You said (and I'm quoting verbatim, unlike yourself) ~ "you complain about sth that doesn't affect you. "I got only to rank 5 because everyone is using Thud"

That insinuates that I said that. I did not say that. I actually am quite indifferent about the whole thing. I cannot control what others do. I can only control my decisions, and I frankly don't care much about ThuD. I've played PC games for many many years, and I know there will always be cheats, and people will always use them.

Really? Lmao. My statement right there is simply the truth, instead of playing the game, minding your own business, you complain about sth that doesn't affect you. "I got only to rank 5 because everyone is using Thud" - Clap yourself on the shoulder you made it to rank 5, tell yourself and your friends you could've made it to r1 if it wasn't for the top 4 using turbohud, next season no one will give a shit about your rank from last season anyways.

You're not supposed to use quotation marks for entirely made up sentences. They're for quoting people....like exactly what they said.

I have no idea who may have used ThuD that were ahead of me, and you fail to comprehend my point. My point wasn't that I only got to rank 5 due to people ahead using ThuD. My point was that I could go higher if I used it.

I would understand your complaints if....

I'm not complaining. I'm saying it like it is. I actually enjoy beating out people who used cheats.

Second: It's not hard to move your mouse cursor over a pack to see which affixes it has, that's what I'm doing and I can't think of a way that would be an unfair advantage against me, I see a pack on my screen, my mouse cursor is instantly on the pack and I can see its affixes, wether it gets displayed on top of them or whatever won't make a huge difference (hey you saved a millisecond there, gj!).

Many times, especially in HC, you're best served skipping elites. Some builds don't jive with certain Affix/monster combos. Being able to go around/avoid certain packs without aggro'ing them is quite the advantage.

First off: to everyone saying: "It shows stuff before it pops up on your screen", I thought we had that discussion already in a different thread. If I play with a higher resolution than you, I get to see things before you. Can't really consider this as a cheat.

    That's just silly.

People are being bitches about it because it shows the general layout of the map that you are currently on. It's not discovered or anything but it shows you roughly where an exit to the map should be (not always the case, since maps are randomized in rifts).

But yea if you played the game enough you know the maps and should find the exit at almost the same time as someone who uses Thud. Or you could simply google the map layouts and have them up on your 2nd monitor, but I guess that's cheating too Kappa.

Before I say a word, I'm going to ask that we remain civil about this discussion. That means no flaming/trolling. "People are being bitches about it" is NOT being civil. Take that tone down a notch or two please.

People are totally welcome to discuss this highly polarizing issue here, just do so like an adult, please.

    Now that this is out of the way;

What we see you doing here is exactly what pisses a lot of folks off about ThuD use. Anytime people do something they know is wrong, they minimize it completely. ThuD does a hell of a lot more than just loosely indicate an exit. It also indicates nearby uncovered shrines, elite packs and their affixes...and much more.

All these tip-offs are essential in top placement. If I had knowledge of where the exit may be, I would zoom right to it when my R6 enters a level filled with runners, bees, exorcists etc. You are wrong to imply that all tile sets have exits in the same spot. That's 100% bull pies. They do not, and you can think the exit is in a certain direction, only to end up pinned in a dead end with 100 horrible things blocking your path back.

In HC, this can spell death.

It is cheating, of course it's cheating. It is not only against the clearly written rules, it enhances your ability to perform completely and it is NOT part of the game.

I repeat...IT IS NOT PART OF THE GAME. It is cheating. Call it what it is. You can call it a ham sandwich if you like, it's still cheating.

I am currently pushing for top placement in the far less competitive HC NS Monk boards. Less competitive, but still competitive. If I used a 3rd party program to help me in any way, I would consider myself cheating.

No ThuD here. Clean as a whistle. I assure you, I could climb higher and have a much easier time with an add-on overlay like ThuD. Of course I would. I just failed a 47 which could've gotten me as high as 2nd spot. It was in the Spider Cave tile set, and the floor was filled with Boogan's pelting me with ranged shots, absolutely tearing me a new asshole.

I tried a few times to blink ahead and find the next floor down, but I kept getting led to dead-ends, almost dying, having droves of nasty bastards piling up behind me. Trying to find my way out almost cost me my precious Monk.

Tell me again how ThuD doesn't help?

    Quote from Mad_Tom»

With 2.3 and the cube, every class will have possibility to be fast(er) moving.

Barb, WW + charge + belt + skills

Monk, dashing strike + passives + teleport from Epiphany

WD, Manajuma set + angry chicken rework

    Wizz, Aether Walker + Teleport

Crusader, Horse + Steed Charge Flail

    DH, Danetta's + Vault

Good points. The Cube covers so many longstanding holes this game has had. I was skeptical when the Cube was first announced, but it appears they put a great deal of thought into it. Good news is, they'll likely expand on what the Cube can do frequently with patching, making it a potential magic bullet for a number of issues.

Would like to come back to the Clan - was in it from the beginning of d3 up through Reaper. Left the Clan and joined one with friends for a little while and then took a break from the Clan and just played on my own solo for a long while (fluctuating schedule and figured it was better to give up the spot to another.) Been playing the PTR quite a bit and looking forward to S4.

So in essence, I wanna COME HOME!!! ;)

Yep. We have several members with very low in-game activity on their accounts who are on the "bubble", with 3+ weeks of having not logged in. As much as we'd like to keep everyone, we really want the clan to be as active as possible going in to the season, Day 1.

Normally I wouldn't put your personal business out there like this, but it's nothing that you yourself haven't done already. You chose to use an illicit 3rd party proxy service, one of the easiest 3rd party services to get caught using, and they took action.

Again, we are not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment in any way whatsoever, so continuously using our fansite to vent your frustration with their company isn't going to amount to anything but trouble. We simply will not tolerate continued efforts on your part to blame them for your own mistake.

Please stop this line of behavior at once and have some respect for the players who didn't knowingly violate the EULA stipulated in plain wording when you agreed to their terms of use.

I didnt find any difference for RG on Normal today. If it was a bug, it is fixed now.

I still dont know how so many people reach this high level on GR in 2.2... Is it the paragon level that makes the difference so much?

More-so the 4-man dynamic of perma CC.

I'm talking about the solo leaderboards ...pretty wierd.

In that case, it could be a number of factors combined. High paragon, people that know what the heck they're doing, the use of illicit 3rd party programs etc. The way Blizz has let the integrity slip, it's hard to tell these days exactly who is, and who is not, using exploits and illicit programs.

I stay near the top of the leaderboards for my preferred classes (crus and monk), but that's in Non-Season HC, where there isn't nearly as much competition as on other boards, and I'd hate for anyone to assume I do anything but play the game as intended, as I most certainly do.
