i feel exactly the same, i tried a few public games but it was always a "wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am" approach so far, with very little discussion about how different features of the game feel to their class.
in diablo 2 so much of the playability was public, i spent a lot of my time just helping low lvlers and giving free stuff, now thats difficult.
i also belive its a general "battle.net 2.0" problem, i've also noticed the loneliness in WoW, seems strange calling a game with 10.5 million active players lonely, but it is...
back in the day you needed to find a group for a dungeon at the main city, assemble the group, go to the instace togather, communicate about tactic... when i recently played again (slightly b4 d3 release) it was a game filled with 10.5 million ghosts, no body talks, nobody wants to quest togather, even instances have an automatic joining system (rings a bell) and their so easy nobody even talks to eachother...
yes there are advantages to this system, i dont belive any1 tried to find a public game for a quest and didnt find one... but in my opinion the disadvantages rise above... from "cow level" to "free items" games the public game system in d2 simpy worked, and its a shame that a multi-million player game feels like a single player played online...
i guess that rethical's suggestion is the best thing for us though, just need to keep trying to find the few people decent players out there...
anyway, you're more than welcome to add me as a friend Barak#2116!
Um thats becasue anyone with any decent skill or commitment to that game had DS completed months ago and are most likely not playing or playing very little. People doing dungeons and leveling at this point are more than likely newer players who are overwhelmed.
It amazes me that people don't have any real life friends that also share your interest in video games. I have about 8 friends spread out between college, work, and long time friends that play this game. I don't think I have ever logged on and not had at least 1 on.
I have played this game solo for about 30 mins Id say and it was boring as hell. I hate single player games and I also hate random pugs, make friends and the game become tolerable.
I do agree the community in the game blows if I didn't have RL friends wanting me to continue playing I would have dropped this game weeks ago.
I have tried very very hard to enjoy D3. I only played D2 for about a month or two, leveled a wizard to the mid 80s and then jumped to WOW with all my friends. I think one of the main things about D3 that is making a lot of people leave(and you cant deny that the game has lost a substanial amt of the player base of the past month) is the leveling system and talent points that D2 had.
When you call Diablo in D3 right now the game is technially over. All that is left is to keep doing it and collect gear. It is a nice accomplishment and feels good to kill Diablo on Inferno and beat the game but once I did that I was just thinking what am I working towards now. In D2 after Baal you still had a long time to go till you got to 99 so you had something to work towards. I don't have the incentive in D3 now.
I have decided to put down the game for now and play the MOP beta(which is less buggy then D3 it seems). I hope once they fix legendaries and possibly figure out a better solution for end game I will come back.
People on these forums on smarter than the AH hence why many come here because of the more reasonable offers.
The 500k offer was a good offer you are just trying to get much more than they are worth and you may end up finding some little kid who will blow a million on them I know I wouldn't. I picked up shoulders with less HP total but more str and armor for 150k I believe.
I enjoy my tactics much more
1. Make friends
2. Get dps up to 35k
3. Let monk friend run in first
4. Pop WOTB jump to 80k dps and kill everything
5. ?????
6. Profit
OT I am enjoying 2h dps but like I said since I hate single player games I almost never play alone and therefore don't have to worry as much about defensive stats.
