Am I the only one who thinks that the new gear tiers seem very hack-y in terms of originality? Monk T17 (Ascended), for example. The helm resembles Monk Sovereign mixed with Barbarian Archon. The shoulders look very much like Barbarian Sovereign. The boots also look like Monk Sovereign. The chest looks fairly unique, and the pants are fairly indistinguishable anyways.
Crusader T17 and T18, DH T17, WD T17 and T18, Wizard T18, and Barbarian T17 and T18 are all guilty, too. Some of the Crusader sets also look copy-pasted over from other classes (Monk Balor, DH Sovereign, Barb Doom). I'll be kind of disappointed if these (both offenders above) end up as the final versions.

Well keep in mind that XP rate will be increased too. High level items now give +exp bonuses and I assume the % exp bonuses are larger too on level 70 items.
Correct! Keep in mind, my math was simply off of current values for EXP, not what we may possibly see at level 70. If EXP were to increase threefold, that 227 days drastically falls off to 76 days played (1816 hours) - which for a lot of WoW players, is quite nothing. -

Wow.....that is pretty insane. I just wonder how long it'll take someone to hit a level at 1000+.
I'm totally ready for RoS!
Assuming 200M XP/HR (though Blizz will probably change XP rates on our way to 70), we're looking at 3632 hours, or 151 days played. Assuming you only play 2/3 of your day, and eat/sleep the rest, it'd realistically take someone at least 227 days to do it. Quite a ways down the line, in current XP rates. -

Does it mean that if I'm Paragon LVL 100 today, when RoS will be released i will be more than Paragon 100? I'm comparing this to
http://media.diablof.../patch/exp3.jpg
And 90pLVL now = around 100 pLVL new?
PL100 now = PL116 RoS.
PL90 = PL98 RoS.
I have a copy of this sheet where I'm calculating EXP Total, but I only know the XP values for PL1 and PL100 without doing the math. I might add another column showing the pre-change equivalent and share it here.
Those numbers don't line up... but as others have already pointed out, they're kinda moot point until we know what the XP-per-kill ratio is at 60 vs. 70.
This is what I have so far. 70-90 might be incorrect, but I did the math from P100's EXP (10,454,400,000) for 100-90. This also includes totals for multiple P100's, and running totals for EXP accumulated. -

Edit: P1-P60 is normal. P61 is where each old PL begins to equal 2 new PL's.
Edit2: P2k is 1,978,302,310,911, or 1.978T EXP. This is equal to 189 P100's + P53 in the current system. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Close, but no. They want Lifesteal (%Damage to Life) to be broken.

My idea of a good frustrating is a game like Dark Souls: where your success is laid in your skill. Gear makes only the difference in how fast you kill something, but any death is purely the fault of the player.
A game like this, where you can get swarmed by enemies, or a common complaint of a Wizard friend in Act 4: getting charged by off-screen mobs and straight out one-shot by them, is not. There's nothing fun about randomly dying to something you could have never seen coming.

Having mobs straight-out one-shot players who aren't in full BiS gear that can be found in that Act or possibly a future Act is neither fun nor challenging, and definitely not rewarding. It's hard, and the cheap way out.
