posted a message on Stars on mini map
I don't think it would be added. My thought for that is that Blizzard wouldn't want to encourage things like split running even though they haven't explicitly said it's against the rules, I don't think they are willing to add features that support that kind of playstyle.

This would be beneficial to those who do split runs and a legendary drops for a team member not in their area though. Or perhaps for a team member who has gone to the next level in a rift or dungeon. It's a minor benefit at most, but one that I would like anyway. Even if it's just a toggle.

It would need to have, at a glance, an easily distinguishable difference so you knew whose drop it was to notify them. Easiest way to do that would be a name below the star, but colours could be able to be assigned on the party interface corresponding to party join order. This is to say that stars will not be later coloured according to item drop rarity (set/legendary).

Another simple idea would be a small icon in a corner of the star icon with a number, 1-4 to indicate whose item it was. Alternatively it could be a class icon, with paragon level or such.

However, I'm sure there are other more elegant ways to present it, if it ever comes to fruition.

posted a message on What is a Stat Trifecta
Trifecta is an antiquated term these days. It was highly sought after in vanilla.

These days it's standard fare to find that set of stats, and in a lot of cases, sub par.

There would be little to no benefit rerolling the attack speed. I'd reroll the base damage as well.

Disregard this then. Edited to make sure it's not misinforming. That's one exception I wasn't aware of.

Elemental damage type of a weapon, so far as I understand it, is not applied to your attacks in any form. What you see as the abilities damage type is the type of damage it inflicts. Not the weapons damage type.

Armour or Life on Hit to Crit Chance or Crit Damage. Use a calculator to find out which one provides more benefit if you feel so inclined, but I'd just use whichever one got a high roll first. (High being 45%+ crit damage or 5%+ crit chance)

I'd personally keep armour if you're not going to use the dog that gains your leech, else keep the life on hit, since it's (allegedly, not 100% on this) multiplied by how many dogs you would have had.

    Devastator, Burning Axe of Sankis.

Devastator is crafted, you need Shattered Cores.

Check Legendary Materials Guide for farming information.

Burning Axe of Sankis and Thunderfury are simply farmed from nowhere in particular, so just farm as efficiently as you can, meaning choose appropriate to your gear difficulty.

posted a message on Whelp, it finally dropped for me. Thunderfury, now how to reroll?
Weapon damage type does not affect your skills damage type whatsoever. What you see on the skills damage card is the damage type that it is.

posted a message on Piro Marella, any good?
Well, it's a craftable shield, which means it should be rather minimal effort to obtain it. If you regularly use shield bash and don't find great utility in your current shield, then it would make sense to use it.

It will allow greater spamming, 2x roughly, of the ability and thus greater dps from it. Sounds good for a relatively easily obtainable shield.

You've pretty much answered your own question though. It does what it says on the tin. If you use the skill extensively already, then by all means, go ahead and use it.

If you do decide to use it, come on back and give some feedback. :D

posted a message on Ruby vs. Emerald. Crit damage affects pets.
Yep, as I expected. Crit damage has always brokenly been the go-to gem for weapons. Only real exceptions exist as low level levelling with the ruby and then I'm not sure on this, but perhaps the topaz with the thorns set may see some use. I don't know anything about the thorns set though and that's off-topic anyway.

Now that our pets benefit from crit hit damage, will this make emeralds the way to go for pet builds?

I just seem to find people still recommend rubies, however I'm not sure if they're aware of the change, it wasn't initially listed in patch notes and was only later confirmed.

I see that my fetishes crit for roughly another million when I switch to a crit damage gem.

I'm only new to witch doctors so any more experienced players input would be appreciated.

Confirmation that this is an intended change: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/12473177427#10

posted a message on How long until Blizzard fixes people "cheesing" normal mode?
Should never according to whom? Why should you not be able to farm adequately if you much out gear a particular difficulty? Have a read again. This is not a new concept. It is a concept that formerly worked very well. This is a different approach to the same end. I'll mention also that there is sacrifice involved. You miss out on the opportunity for exclusive items. That is a deterrent in itself. Low difficulty is not an exploit. It is a method.

I'd like to add that I do believe that torment difficulty should have it's drop rates buffed (again), it's not particularly more abundant in its current iteration. But it's certainly noticeable.

I suppose people farming in Nightmare mode on Diablo 2 were greeted with derision too. Or not playing on /players 8 the entire time.

If people wish to tweak difficulty in order to allow themselves to better handle a higher difficulty at a later date, why is that a problem?

Farming gear is integral. Optimisation for farming efficiency and speed has always been a thing in Diablo.

Funnily enough, my brother and I, him on hardcore, and myself on softcore, both got Immortal King's Irons from the Khazra Den.

Personally, I think it was just an amusing coincidence. But there you have it.

    In format;

What Legendary dropped: Immortal King's Irons
What zone were you in: Khazra Den
