posted a message on Necro DLC for $21.95!?!

I was really looking forward to a new class. I honestly thought for a second there they were just patching it in.

Definitly not going to pay that much for a dead game. It's like half the price of D3 when it first came out... For a single class.

posted a message on Greater Rifts 2.0

The people who claim that Diablo 2 had such a big build diversity and such amazing items forget that 99% of the Diablo 2 guides also were about the same 2-3 items. Diversity wasnt as big as you guys think.

Also, the game D2 was much easier in general. Of course you can have more builds when you can just steamroll mobs with any item combination as soon as you reached a certain power level. The endless scaling actually adds challenge and replayability to D3.

posted a message on Conquest advice

    Hi guys

I have been playing since launch and did most of my playtime before RoS even came out. I recently started playing in season 9 and wanted to go for that extra stash space.

The only thing I can't really do are the conquests. They seem to require either a good team or very specific gear, both of which I dont really have. I play casually and mostly in random groups. I have a few hunter sets and not much else really except for crafting materials.

Anyway, the char in question is in my armory link below with the creative name seasonnine. Could you advice me in what conquests are easiest to go for?

posted a message on Primal Ancient Legendaries

Remember pre RoS when "Inferno" difficulty was only meant for the hardcore players? Everybody complained that they werent able to play inferno and difficulty was lowered.

Remember when Paragon points were only for the hardcore?

Remeber when ancients were only for the hardcore?

Primal ancients will go the exact same way. People will whine on the forums that they "payed the same price but can not get all the items" and Blizzard will increase drop chances till everybody walks around in all primal ancients.

posted a message on ASking for opinions

    For me yes.

I dont have time to be active in clans or communities. I randomly hop into the game for 20-45 minutes and the only form of group play i get is from random groups.

They suck ass. You are better off soloing. There will ALWAYS be the guy who is afk in town, the guy who is following you around (in a SPLIT bounty game ffs) because it's too hard for him to solo, the guy who has no clue about builds or items or what is enchanting?

I can either spend 45 minutes looking for a group without people with a "learning disability" or just play 45 minutes alone and get some stuff done.

    Quote from Hoaxcore»

I want to struggle to get my gear, i want to struggle to get my hellfire, paragon is too powerful at some point. In diablo power should come from the gear only, it's an hack & slash for crying out loud .

We had vanilla where people had to struggle for gear. Not many people liked it.

posted a message on RIP system, you will be missed.

Yeah this is certainly not a hardware issue, specially when you can get windows booting.

Boot off your windows cd and if nothing works from there, you gotta reinstall your windows.

Leave drop rates as they are.

Reintroduce trading, but only for gold, no real money crap.

IMO it was still a mistake to introduce bind on account. But I agree with most other changes.

posted a message on Idea: Merge Crit Chance and Crit Damage into single stat
    Quote from Kenashi»

I was thinking about a concept of merging Crit Chance and Crit Damage into a single stat (lets call Crit Rating), which would increase both values simultaneously, and would open up an affix slot on gear for other valuable stats.

Blizzard introduced the new "3 mainstat, 3 offstat" system so that people have to make a choice. Before that (it was way before RoS if I remember correcdtly) you had the sweet 6fecta items with vit, mainstat, crit, critdmg, atackspeed and +damage. They reduced it down to 3 mainstats per item on purpose.

posted a message on Losing steam for Season 4

I always thought that seasons are only for the hardcore few who really want to compete in grift leaderbords.

I was happy for months playing non season casually because if you dont invest several hours per day into the game, you always have something to improve on with your chars. I leveled all classes and started farming the class sets for them and with casually logging in here and there, this kept me busy more or less since D3 release.

That all of course changed with 2.3 when it took me an entire day to equip my witch doctor to near perfect gear. TbH 2.3 kinda killed it for me. Gearing up is just too fast now.

But to stay on the topic of losing steam... I never had much to begin with. If you really want to go for a full season and staying competitive, you have to be aware that you can kiss your real life goodbye for at least 3 months and do nothing else but farm farm farm for more time than you spend in a full time job. If that is not for you, then forget about competitive season all together.

I did this once when WoW came out. I did not have a job back then and enjoyed the time. I'll never do it again though. I think my wife would leave me, not to mention my job etc.

posted a message on Let's try this again..making Diablo 3 competitive
    Quote from giovax»

it is a nice idea to make the game competitive, but...is this what we really need? I can't imagine myself playing a 0-RNG map more than 10 times after I reach my limit

But you'll try a few times to get to your limit. Then a few times till you really cant beat it any more. And then a few times more after every bigger patch, every new item and every build change just to see how much you improved etc etc. It's like a measuring stick. It's a better version of the leaderboards we have today, not the be all and end all of endgame.

Stanzilla I appreciate your creative thinking. However, I am certain that something which is not random (even RNG as it is) will become boring very very quickly.

Yeah tell that to those millions of Counter Strike players who play the same map for 10 years no.
