posted a message on Gold and difficulties made useless?

That you do X more dps now compared to pre ROS, has nothing to do with the amount of useless difficulties currently present.

With all the new gear, and over the top set bonuses, we're limited to use those few attacks where we can stack these set bonuses / special legendaries.

Just that you had to gear up properly before you was able to farm the best gear made the gearing process longer.

And that part is what most people seem to find the most fun and rewarding overall.

posted a message on Illusion of diversity

Oh lol, Diablo2 had in all major patches way more viable specs than we're currently seeing in D3. Much because of the "low" difficulty cap.

But also because of synergies was all you needed along with enough +skill to make any skill viable as primary attack.

Just for sorceress, she had about 20 different attacks, most specs used 2 (+static), then you have 400 different combinations, all pretty much viable to choose a spec from. The term meta used today, was called Fotm back then. And the non-Fotm specs was viable. Just as the non-meta specs can be today. Just the mindset of the players that has changed.

The enigma argument is a sad story aswell, yes it felt mandatory, but that it was hard to get was an illusion. I used not more than 5 hours farming for 1 last time ladders reset. The CTA and Hoto flail was just as "mandatory" for many, and considerably harder to get.

posted a message on Items with flat percent increase to skill X damage

It's kinda hard to just grasp the essence of the OP's problem, but answer is no, 10%skill dmg and 10% ele dmg is adding the same amount of dmg increase if both apply to the skill in question.

    Actual DPS =((Main Stat%)*(Weapon Damage+Jewelry Min-Max Damage)*((Crit Chance*Crit Damage)+100%)*(Skill Dmg % +100%)*(APS))*((Native Skill Weapon Damage%)*(Specific Skill%+100%)*(Elemental Damage%+100%))*(elite dmg%)

Full explanation is easily found here : http://diablo.blizzpro.com/2014/05/17/basic-theorycrafting-damage-formula/

posted a message on What about a new mode of play for the anti-paragoners

Kadala and Blood shards was always a terrible addition. Was no real need for her to emerge.

The cube is fun enough, but together with Kadala they just nerf to gearing process to the ground.

Vanilla had the concept that you needed a certain level of gear to play where you could get the best gear drop.

This caused a sort of gating into Inferno which was very nice for the sake of just feeling some individual progression.

Now you are fully geared and into min/maxing after an evening or 2 played.

posted a message on The best path to T10

    1. Farm public rifts (as high Torment as u can), for GR-keys and mats for the cube. Loot as much blues and whites as possible, fill up inventory at boss.

    2. When you have most of your set, start cubing for missing set items, or complementary legendaries.

    3. Reroll the items for proper stats, you need the dps increase on all available items for most specs. (i.e Crit on rings, amu, bracer, gloves & head)

    - This takes a litte investigation as you might need to look up what stats are preferable on each slot.

    4. With mostly any complete set (including comp legs) you should start to breeze through T10, looking for ancient upgrades and more mats.

Any Torment level can drop the same items, stats wont get better because of higher T level. The class sets just wont drop below T1.

Choose a difficulty that you really steamroll for farming, T10 is not far away from T7 :)

    Good luck :)

posted a message on What about a new mode of play for the anti-paragoners

Blizzard started to listen to the wrong audience several years ago, vanilla d3 had better progress path than what it is now.

The fact that loads of players gave up on the first inferno wasps dont make the progression back then bad.

posted a message on Revitalizing Diablo III.

One of the things that made trading huge in diablo 2, was not the gear, it was more the runes that served as a good currency and founded a base for trading. Also some items was pretty rare in that game compared to D3.

I like most of your ideas, except #5 (reinforce multiplayer) and #18 (item rack).

Multiplayer is still way to rewarding compared to solo play, to a degree where its almost absurd.

The Item rack would be a gift to the botters as they swap gear/talents daily, I'd rather see them put it alot more things that makes bots less efficient.

posted a message on Honest question, how do you spot a bot?

I see more and more bots in public games aswell, especially this last week.

It may be that the ones who botted privately has found out that they lag behind the public botters (xp multipliers).

And also that they maybe they dont fear the banhammer that much at this point.

There is so little content in Diablo, that Leaderboards and Ladders do matter even to the more casual players.

Which is why all kinds of cheaters affect even the legit solo playing gamers out there,
