I'd start by upgrading your OH weapon, something with higher dex, even a won khim lau. Your dps may not go up on the character sheet, but you can really feel the difference with thunderclap and SW. If you can afford it go for an Inna's Helm or belt, you may lose some life, but the added dex from the set bonus makes a big difference as well.
When i got rid of my LoH, i picked up one piece with pickup radius, and one with +4000ish to healthglobes and I'm entirely fine 99% of the time.

Any advice and/or criticism is welcome, because I'd like to double my DPS in the next while. It's clearly doable with some lucky drops and good sales.
A shield with a good amount of dex and crit chance won't substantially reduce your DPS. In addition if it has a good amount of block amount, and a block chance of 25% or higher, it will mitigate a LOT of damage. Until I geared up enough to DW properly, sword and board + a good shield was the only way I could survive A3. The difference is surprising.
Ya, your total dex should be considerably higher, and the attack speed of weapons is very important for a monk. Try to have your weapons have a minimum of 1.4a/s, at least in the mainhand.
I would also try putting your fist in the MH position, to boost attack speed, and maybe swap your emerald for an amethyst to boost LoH. I was stuck in the same place for a while, but with higher LoH and attack speed, act 3 became quite farmable.

Anyway after updating to 10.8.2 on my Retina MBP D3 and other games became unplayable, even at the lowest graphics settings.
A quick SMC reset fixed everything, so if anyone else is having this problem, do a quick SMC reset, and your problems should be fixed.
