ive been trying to find a wepon with 900+ dps and socket with crit dmg and life steal but its way to expensive, any advice?
If its too expensive, cut out the crit damage and see if you can make it happen. If not, just stick with what you got and farm until you find something that you can sell for big money. A socket is worth 100% CD (if you have the gem) and its much cheaper than finding a high CD roll on a weapon.
I never had problems keeping wotb up full time with ww spec before 1.05, and haven't really bothered with it since then because I got bored of it, but I was around 140k dps or so by the time I made the switch. You can use a mace/axe in your MH, and I would suggest it, although a mighty weapon will make it slightly easier...and you can go with animosity as well if you still need more help generating enough fury.
However I would bet that the problem isn't generating fury, but spending it. If your fury is capped, you aren't adding to the duration of wotb even if you get berserker rage procs. You need to have space to fill in your fury bar in order for fury gains to count in order to add more time to the duration of wotb. spam sprint/battle rage to dump fury, since whirlwind will usually not get rid of it fast enough.
PS if you kill mobs too quickly, turn up the MP a tick and see how it feels. You get more drops/MF/XP that way, gimping your dps because stuff dies too fast on low MP is stupid.
Weapons with sockets will make a large difference for you, but are not very cheap, you can go with a low dps offhand tho as it will not affect your tornado damage, offhand dps isn't as critical for ww barb.
Otherwise, I would suggest getting another ring with crit chance on it.
Lastly, and when you have the gold, get IAS on every slot that you can, it will help your fury generation immensely.
So after 86 paragon levels, I'm getting burned out on my barb and I'm looking for something new. My DH was the first toon I leveled and I've decided to go back to him, although I haven't really played him since 1.02. Most of my gear is just stuff I found while farming on my Barb and tossed on him, I found a decent Windforce the other day and picked up a dead man's for cheap on a bid so I've decided to give him another go.
So what I'm looking for....
1. Spec wise, I've been playing around with a few talents. Can't decide if Hungering Arrow with splinters or devouring arrow is better for single target. I like the massive damage ball lightning does to large packs but its lackluster vs a single elite. The other thing is my passive, I've been using perfectionist because the defensive bonuses look nice, but I don't know if there are better. Anyone have opinions of Perfectionist vs NIghtstalker?
2. Gear-where should I start.
3. Followers? Always used enchantress but since she got nerfed idk how I feel about her anymore.
4. Anything else you think I might think is interesting. Thanks for your feedback
have u ever used ww/sprint build for exp farming in mp1 with anything over 80k dps? good fucking luck keeping that up. 25 seconds tops. Turns into a waste of a skill slot which i would rather 1. have a fury generator 2. something that will help me kill (ie op momentum crits = insta gib whites, charge/leap) also, hes using a 2h, making it even worse. keep ur foot in your mouth, it was a smarter move
1. DPS is a meaningless metric for WW/sprint builds since many people go for a stat stick offhand with low damage
2. Look at my profile scrub. It worked fine for me with over 150k dps for a long time.
3. ww/sprint and 2h build doesn't mix well, which is why I suggested going dual wield. You just wont build enough fury even if you aren't killing stuff quickly due to the low proc coefficient on tornadoes and slow tick speed. Attack speed is critical for this build to work post 1.05.
4. if you kill shit instantly you are on too low of a MP level, its far more efficient to farm drops/xp on a level that you can roll with 100% uptime on wotb, as well as more challenging/fun.
adequite armor/res all/damage/ikbelt/crit chance. YOU SIR SEEM ELIGABLE TO CHANGE SKILLS NOT GEAR!
1. get rid of zerk, use sprint tornados
2. get rid of hota, get ww huricane
3. get rid of rend and get a fury ability like OP momentum or charge or leap
done
for ubers, smash build is superior
for mp5, u can make it work
do i win the cookie?
Get rid of zerk for ww/sprint build? No, you don't get any cookies.
You will want new weapons, WW/Sprint is heavily affected by weapon speed, and if you want to speed clear mp1/2 you need 1 1h weapons. A mace main hand with high damage, and a dagger stat stick.
The health link thing is a recent development. Before, you would do full damage to 1 of the monsters and then the damage would be distributed evenly among the pack. Now, your damage is immediately divided by the number of monsters in the pack. The overall affect of the amount of damage the monsters take is the same, however this change that they made is a MASSIVE NERF to those who rely on lifesteal to keep themselves alive. I use a smash build and health link are by far the worst affix out there, since I am usually running mp 8-10 (depending on who else is in my group) and the damage they do is pretty high. I can easily out heal most monsters with my lifesteal, but when the amount of HP I get back is reduced by 1/3-1/4 of the normal amount, it really sucks! Health link mobs are the only monster packs that I die to these days, and its really frustrating. Health-link/arcane/molten/fire chains....awful. Without the health-link in there, its a walk in the park.
I have always wondered if they stacked? For example if I had all of the following on my WD:
10% bonus damage to elites from Sun Keeper
5% bonus damage to elites from my Mojo
3% bonus damage to elites from Unity
30% bonus damage to elites from Stone of Jordan
10% bonus damage to demons from Tyrael's Might
7% damage added to poison from Zuni Boots
Does that mean if I use poison abilities on an elite demon it will do 65% extra damage?
Im sure I forgot a few items for other slots but you might be able to get close to 100% if you can get other bonus items for more slots. That would just be stupid OP and Im wondering if Blizzard has a soft cap on bonus damage where after a certain point it either doesnt work or just scales horribly?.
Damage bonuses of the same type stack additively, and different types are multiplicative. so your setup gives you 48% bonus damage to elites, times 7% extra physical dmg as poison, times 10% extra dmg if you are fighting a demon. So assuming you are fighting a demon elite mob with a weapon that has all physical dmg (ie not poison dmg or something) you are doing 1.48*1.07*1.1=1.74 ie 74% extra damage to that mob.
