either bring back the shoutbox or some institute some kinda live chat a form of d3.com msn, we faithful members miss the shoutbox bad, you could have shoutbox or live chat on a seperate page only accessable by members of this site, that way guests would be able to read whats in it, that and spamming why the shoutbox was taken away wasnt it

cool, still some people cant access it, is Livechat/shoutbox still a possiblity

inactive account deletion after 3 months or so, coz something really needs to be done about the abundance of inactive accounts here (sorry if it seems a little harse its just how i feel and im not the only one with this point of view)
inactive accounts need to stay for the purpose of brining people back through mailings if we happen to find somthing more interested to add to the site. This is the reason why we have the "Active Member" count. This ensures that people know how active the site is.
ok then, but it is annoying having all those guys just sitting there for 4 or so months and not posting

different names other than junior member, member, and senior member (prehaps the ones i suggested in my new post names poll http://www.diablo3.com/forums/showth...ght=post+names) and if these names are choosen, a link to a page that says, what each name is and how many post you need for each (people keep asking it gets annoying, [this kind of things really should be in the FAQ, im not sure if it is])
I think im going to go with your titles. I dont want to post a page that says when a user will get each title, because it gives a user something to spam toards. I rather just leave it as a surpise on when they'll get the rank,

an area for people to post introductory posts, you know a seperate subsection like 'd3 chat' ''polls and surveys' also in this area should be posts detailing things new comers need to know, mostly posting rules and the like (even though this kind of info is FAQ material)

if it doesnt already do so, and we just dont know about it, i would like reputation to actually do something, yeh its fun to spread it around but what does it do? also does the 'X is on a distinguished Road' (mousing over the green dot in your post profile) meaning anything, coz it seems like everyone is on a distiguished path even new comers
The reputation system was put in there just for that reason. To help users determin if somone has a good or bad rep, not to act as a reward system. I'm going to fine tune this system to work out a little better, and if i can think of some type of reward i'll think about adding it.
hmm not really sure i have any ideas for a reward. will keep thinking/looking though, DeMiNe) ill let you if i find/think of anything

Nope. It slows down on slower computers, and also sometimes isn't supported on other browsers.

It does work, i just ignore most of the emails that are sent from it now. You have no idea how many "WHEN R D3 COM OUT!>!>!?" and "U NEED TO PUT TIS IN D3 BLIZARD!!!" emails i get per day. If you really need to talk to me, just PM me.

not sure how successful this would be, but some kind of insentive to stay active, other websites have points that count towards downloads you cant get anywhere else, its really annoying to see that out of the 2000 accounts on 500 are active and around 20 or so of that 500 post on a regular basis, now i know people can post everyday like some of us can, but it does seem like a waste to create an account then never use it.
I'm going to talk to umaro about an adsence profit sharing system for active posters. This is completely up to him though.

There allready is. A moderator has to do it though to ensure no conflicts are going to happen.
i just thought of it looking at a lot of posts by people (mostly at the time), and thinking why dont they just merge their posts together, thats 1 person merging 2 or more of their own posts in a thread together not other peoples posts), some websites have that 'will merge posts - doublepost thing'

The first 2 i don't agree with. Thats like saying "If you live in this town you HAVE to vote for the mayer. If you don't then shut the hell up". I dont want to run a forum like that.
i can see your point but it is annoying when you are trying to have a poll, and you see that the view number more than triples the reply number, and you sit there thinking, if people take the time to view the poll, the least they could do it vote. 2000 accounts, 20 votes. but its like 356 views, pretty shocking

well the titles part is easy, trying to get the bit that comes before the username is harder, infact i dont think it can be done, which is why i was forced to change my post names. and trying to get staff rank and post name to show up is a little hard too. might take another look at it sometime when i have more time.

The ads are there for a reason. People DO click them when they are in a visable place like that. Since these are content related ads, people are more likely to click them because they are Diablo III (or what ever subject the thread is on) related.
The site doesn't pay for itself. It's currently $160 dollars a month to run this server.
If we downgraded to a shared account (lots of down time, slow load times, ect) we would be paying around $30 a month for good hosting. We rather give you the best we can while trying to make money back on ads.

The reason we moved them to after every first post is because people just don't click on them unless they are shoved in your face.
As for the duping programs. These ads can be filtered, so send a PM to umaro asking him to filter them out and he should be able to.

He'll be the one who posts news and new polls. He'll also be able to aprove anyone who wants to submit a poll or news article.
Cyks will also be spreading the word about Diablo3.com at other gaming based websites for us.
