    1) Ladders
    2) Less rare items dropping, but much better chances of good stats on them. Basically The same odds of getting a good item, but less disappointments when IDing them.
    3) More incentives for group play.

No, buying and selling for profit on an AH is a fun part of any game with an AH.

Just spent 3 hours in PoE... got bored after 20 minutes. Kept playing hoping it would get exciting...

The game appears to have a lot of depth, but the gameplay is terribly boring.

I spent this much on crafting all 300:

10500 exquisite essences, average 1500 each: 15750000 gold
1500 iridescent tears, average 100 each: 150000 gold
3000 tomes of secrets, average 1000 each: 3000000 gold
300 crafting cost, 91494 gold each: 27448200 gold
    Total crafting costs: 46,348,200 gold

I updated the spreadsheet with all current sales tallied, I sold 53,875,000 gold worth before blizz's 15% cut, after 15% cut it's 45,793,750 gold. I've just about broken even with plenty of good chests still left to sell. I'm wearing two of the best pieces I crafted, and just recently crafted 300 belts that I'm currently logging, and have 7 million total gold. I "wasted" about 20 million or so gold on crafting 150 helms of which less than 10 sold but otherwise took up auction spots and I gave up on after making back all 20 million on them. I still have like 140 helms cluttering up characters, stash and mailbox. On that note, I documented all the helms I crafted so If anyone wants to see what I have and would like to make an offer on taking all of them, I'd be interested in that.

edit: by the way there are a good 20 or so undocumented sales because someone is helping me sell the lower items for 75-100k each while I sell the better ones in my spots.

Another thing to consider is the value of the plan which is around 6 million gold. Although, if you can turn a profit consistently then the plan's value is just a sunk cost that's effect diminishes every day. The main thing is turning a profit.

My thought is that if a crafting player can break even over the 700-1200 (I've not seen a large enough sample to justify this range however) crafts it takes to roll a chest with 230+ vit, 65+ all res, 100+ main stat, 3 sockets, and some nice extras like high armor, life%,MF, etc, then that's where the big profit will come in.

I played in this weekend's beta... It was amazing.

If you played DAoC back in the day and loved it, buy GW2. If you didn't play DAoC but love MMORPGs with awesome PvP combat, buy GW2.

    Very nice data!

My I suggest freezing the top 3 rows so that one could easily see which column represents which stat when reading lower on the spreadsheet.

I've made an update to the "Chests" tab. It now has over 100 Exalted Grand Sovereign Mail crafts recorded.

It is interesting to compare the maxes rolled for Pants vs Chests:
    • Strength:
      • 165 Pants > 156 Chest
    • Dexterity:
      • 157 Pants > 153 Chest
    • Intelligence:
      • 166 Pants > 136 Chest
    • Vitality:
      • 246 Pants > 206 Chest
    • All Resists:
      • 70 Chest ≈ 69 Pants
    • Life Regen:
      • 376 Chest > 230 Pants
These are actual max rolls from my data sets, not the theoretical maxes.

    nice, thank you

amazing how none of them had 2 sockets.

    No problem...

And yeah, I found that amazing as well... In fact, I am continuing to craft pants until I get a 2 socket roll, then I'll go do more belts, shoulders, or chests.

You will be crafting for a long time then, because it is a known issue/bug that crafting pants can't roll 2 sockets and the same with crafting chests (can only get 1 or 3 sockets, not 2).

while i can not confirm that its a bug, i crafted ~50 pants myself, none had two sockets.

I've also done quite a few Chest Pieces, and they've only rolled 1 and 3 sockets...

Thank you very much for that information, I was not aware of this issue. That gives me hope for the future of pants crafting.

Why craft pants? Because you had the recipe?

Seems like slots such as gloves/bracers/helm would be more profitable, particularly as they can come with offensive stats.

Yeah, I've got 4 6-stats recipes: Pants, Shoulders, Belts, and Chest. Not sure why I went for pants, but I did.

Hey guys, I've crafted over 100 pairs of Exalted Grand Sovereign Tassets and recorded all of the rolls in this spreadsheet. Navigate to the tab labeled "Pants" if needed.

EDIT: I've also done over 100 Exalted Grand Sovereign Mails now. See the "Pants" tab for those numbers.

Scroll to the bottom of the sheet to see probabilities of rolls, mins, maxes, and averages.

Note that the column labeled "Resist" represents any resist (Cold,Fire,Arcane,Poison,Lightning).

I'm still torn as to whether or not crafting has been really profitable for me. I've been able to cover my costs alright, but I don't think I've really made a profit...

    Thoughts, suggestions, and rants welcome...

EDIT: There are some other tabs there for different things, but the Pants tab has the most information. It's also the best formatted currently.
