Life Steal is broken because all you have to do is add more DPS and you get more survivability for free. The idea is that survivability is a tradeoff you have to make.

I can see that as an extremely valid point. Pretty much how i geared all of my characters on live. haha! Im just hoping they make the LOH proc coefficients a lot more predictable/higher than they currently are. All purely worst case speculation of course, as i haven't gotten to play ROS to test yet.

A ton of awesome items, I just don't understand the replacing of lifesteal with life on hit. It's not like they don't know how to do math and scale it to a reasonable level

I think, bro, it's YOU who needs to do the math. Think 1 million DPS and % lifesteal.

You mean you don't do 1m DPS on live? ouch sorry, bro.

Why would this be a showstopper ? if you find an item with almost godly stats, you can still sell it to someone who want to enchant it for them self in stead of you enchant it for someone and than sell it. I think this option even gives people a higher chance to sell because you give the buyer the option to do whatever they want with it. I wouldnt buy a pre-enchant item, i want to have that option for myself..

The "show stopper" has already been mentioned numerous times in this thread and on the official forums. But let me summarize: They want to pull this game from the septic tank it currently sits in, a lot of these changes coming with ROS and loot 2.0 do that - That's good. They don't want to give you the freedom to trade top tier items WITH Mods (ala Diablo 2 socket) - That's bad. It almost, and i mean ALMOST seems like they don't want to give in all the way and just flat out admit they butchered the absolute DOG piss out of an amazing franchise.

I'm not trying to make a buck off this game, I want it to be fun. Self found? Absolutely fine. No Auction house forces face to face trading? - AWESOME. Finding a piece that's damn near perfect, socketing it, then randomly by sheer will of the gods finding THE perfect piece and not being able to do absolutely ANYTHING with the one you socketed? Fucking Horrendous.

I assume that what you are telling me is: You are willing to pay for convenience, whether with a credit card, or with your time. But time is clearly something you don't have. Now before you get all upset, think about it. You can't play much because of work, yet, you want an auction house to make it more "convenient". How are you supposed to grind the gold to use this auction house? With what time? Pray for a lucky drop? Pray it rolls good? Pray there's not 15000 of them on the AH for far less than it's worth because its .5 crit chance off? Have you ever stopped to consider they have now raised the amount of gold you can sell in the AH 3 times? You know what that does, yes? It makes the value go down. IE: Ever increasing inflation, Eventually they're going to remove the cap in the Gold AH,,,, Guess what that's going to do? How's farming all that gold you need for those items gonna happen with your responsibilities? From your credit card. How's that nostalgia sound now?

You're talking about 5 different things in one single conversation. I see several points you're debating: 1) BoA 2) Gold vs. gems/runes as currency 3) Credit card warriors 4) The AH as a helpful tool for players vs. the AH as a tool for Blizzard to make profit 5) Different perceptions about D2's trading.

Maybe before you continue, you pick one topic, otherwise it'll be hilarious but not really going anywhere ;-)

My dearest reader, I think my last response was directed exactly as it should have been, If you can't keep up, there's always the pony level. ;)

*edit* - I took out the insane quote pyramid of death. <3

i assume that by trading you mean item for an item... Well the problem is that people will create a currency out of gem, runes, rings, whatever. It is not a sollution, it's a downgrade. "people had no problems trading" yeah right... The AH just streamlines this whole trading experience. Or atleast it should be as so. The problem is that many events happened during the first year of the game that messed up the economy pretty bad. Still, it's a lot better than spamming trade channels. Get over it, this is not the year 2000 anymore. This crap won't work. Maybe it bothers you that everything today has to be streamlined and officially implemented, but it makes the lives of a million other people a lot easier. Do you think that i have time to spamm trade channels when i'm off from work? I barely have time to do like one act 1 run... So please stop with this nostalgic bullshit. You only think it was good because you were a lot younger back then. If the same systems from d2 would have been implemented in d3 it would have been a total mess.

Every legendary shown said "bound to account", that's a complete fail and not listening to the community at all. Just remove the Auction House if you install the expansion and call it a day.

p.s. In order to comment on the youtube video, i had to remove the words "Auction House". Wow...

p.p.s I called loot 2.0 with the expac a few weeks back.

The AH was a solution to the Botting Spam and 3rd Party sites scamming people. It is still needed for that purpose so it should never be removed - but the BEST items in the game should only be able to be found not bought/traded! A BOA model is that solution to the issue that the AH created. BOTH need to Co-exist

I couldn't disagree more, it was implemented so blizzard got more of the profit pie after the initial sale. It's their own fault for giving gold a "value". People had NO problems trading for 13 years and counting in diablo 2. If you went through a 3rd party site, that was a RISK you were either Dumb enough or Brave enough to attempt. BOA is completely ludicrous, how am i supposed to trade with my friends?

Diablo is a loot FINDING game.. so I think FINDING the BEST items is what makes the most sense in Diablo. Diablo is not a loot BUYING/TRADING game.. to me anyway. FINDING is a lot more exciting than Trading..

I concur, i am not a pro AH advocate by any means, I'm merely saying: Get rid of the Ever Increasing inflation machine.

*edit* - while still allowing me to trade stuff i dont need to my friends who might.
