Well, to be honest... there's a small difference between your DPS (it's just insane and most of us will probably never get there) and that of usual players like us ;-) And even if someone reaches that dps - having > 400k EHP at the same time is amazing, many people just go for the dps and wonder why they can't survive on higher MP levels.

I was wondering - when you run MP8, you can't possibly 1shot mobs. Given the steep HP increase for any enemy on higher MP levels, I'd like to know how you sustain Archon. When I run Archon in a group with 1-2 demon hunters, I have a lot of downtime - even just on MP2/3, and even though they try to let me have the killing blows whenever I'm in Archon. (I'm at ~110k (unbuffed)/150k (buffed) dps currently).

What about the events at the bridge and the two doors that are sometimes opened - do you go in there for the quick elite kill? And in general, do you try to stack up NV5 asap and then skip elites or are you killing every pack you find?

Sadly, I can't do the bridge anymore - annoying lag every time I get there, makes it totally unplayable...

Your crit chance and APoC are okay, your DPS and armor more than enough. What you need is some IAS (faster weapon, IAS on gloves, rings, amulets, maybe a cheap Witching Hour if you can afford it), all resistance, and either Life Steal or Life on Hit (most people prefer LoH, but everyone should figure this out for themselves). You also might want to get a bit more health, but it's more or less for more safety... some play CM with 60k+, some manage it with ~35k.

Alkaizer run definitely works for Archon. Keep 2 + Crater 2 are the spots where you sometimes get so many kills that you'll leave it with 2-3 minutes remaining on Archon buff. I personally don't cancel it for the rebuff but try to take at least 40s to the Fields of Slaughter because it sometimes may drop there. Core of Arreat and Tower are sometimes a bit more difficult, but it's still important to do them first because in these first ~4 minutes you get 4-5 NV. When I start the run and encounter serious problems (extremely annoying combo of phase beasts at the entrance to Azmodan), I even do a re-start; it takes ~15 seconds which is better than waiting for more than a minute for Archon to come back.

Hm, good point. I agree that sometimes a look into spreadsheets can help you save a lot of money or make a good decision. However, if you have any build with CM there is this thing that spreadsheets can't tell you - if you're ditching crit, your CM will proc less often. Therefore, a Lacuni w/o crit would need pretty awesome stats before I would switch. (And don't even get me started about the EHP you're most likely to lose if you opt for Lacuni instead of rare bracers...)

I didn't realize that you had both Inna's and Lacuni, plus Zunimassa's Trail boots. That seems... excessive. Then I thought about it, and I guess no other armors can have that high of dps stats.

I guess my current issue is trying to figure out which "major" upgrade to get next. I put major in quotes because I'm planning on spending 50-100m on it (depending on the final sale price of a couple of auctions). I can run the usual act 3 route on MP0 in archon, but the buff tends to drop in areas like the Core and Fields of Slaughter, which both have some distance to run between packs. I've been running with Blood Magic as my only life steal, which is doing the job, but I'm loathe to give up any EHP without getting better health recovery.

Feel free to laugh at my chest piece. In my defense, it was a drop I got on my second ever inferno run, before I even cleared act 1. But you can see why I was leaning toward Tyrael's chest. Whichever upgrade I choose, I'm upgrading whatever gems I can with leftover monies.

I was at the same point a few weeks ago, and with even less money I upgraded from 50k to 90k. I'd definitely recommend getting another 10% runspeed - your pants are not that bad, making Inna's too costly. Also, Lacuni with crit are extremely expensive, thus Tyrael's might be the cheapest option. If you spend a few millions (single digits) on a Triumverate and a second ring with +crit, and upgrade your weapon with >2.5 lifesteal and critdmg + socket instead of the APoC, you should be able to play MP2 and still have money left to shoot for a BiS (e.g., a decently rolled Witching Hour).

All stats work in synergy - an item that might give you +5000 dps now, would yield +15000 dps if you had a base dps of 150k already. Load your profile into d3up.com, browse the AH and check how dps/EHP change :-)

[...] like guild/clan functions, [...] PvP, Able to do all acts through one game instead of only being able to do one act per game created, enable dueling [...]

I understand that some people want this, but I know a lot of people who have been in the Diablo franchise from the very beginning (yes, 16 years) and for these people Diablo is a solo/small group experience. And it's about fighting the evil together, not fighting each other. Guilds, clans, PvP - it will come eventually, but to be honest: it doesn't really fit the story.

All of the points you mentioned can be found in a ton of other games - most and foremost WoW. I'm a bit sick of all these people who want Diablo to turn into WoW. Play Torchlight 2 (and wait for the TL2 MMORPG), or any other of the million games out there that does fulfill all your desired needs. Many people like Diablo 3 the way it is because it focuses around it's original legacy and they actively decided AGAINST going mainstream like 99% of the other games out there. In fact, Max Schaefer had designed Diablo 3 as an MMORPG, but after he left they went the other way, started from scratch to design the game the way it is now.

    Quote from Cobearz

They should of finished the game before release yes. I don't mind playing beta though I am having a lot of fun.

Seriously? You are calling this game right now a beta? This is the biggest insult I've ever heard. This game is in a better state than 99% of all games on release. Do you even know about the history of Diablo, how much time they took to program, polish, and finish this? Could you please acknowledge how much they improve the game over time FOR FREE - every other software developing company would have made you pay for that (as an add-on or whatever). Diablo 3 in October 2012 and "beta". YMMD.

    Quote from Cobearz

We have PvP, MP mutli player, more events, more loot, more power. So much more to obtain that will come with due time.
They just added a new event last week. PvP will come, eventually. And more loot - be careful; how boring a game gets if you get too much loot can be seen in Torchlight 2.

    Quote from Cobearz

Just have fun till then man.

    Yes! Exactly!

    Quote from RMrulz

I think the lack of social elements (custom game lists, decent chat channels, in-game dueling, etc) is the major contributor to the obvious immense drop in active players, and will quite possibly be the ultimate death of this game.

HAHAHAHAHAHA Diablo 3 and dying. Hilarious. Even if this game was as crappy as everyone's saying in this thread - Blizzard has similar die hard fanboys like Apple. Even if they would release a stupid flashgame, people would play the hell out of it.

Seriously, this thread is madness. Enjoy that this game is a bit different than all the other games, please.

You're totally right about the "widening the gap" thing in general. You get mediocre gear for a few 100k and even badly rolled legendaries/sets for single digit millions. But BiS items are getting more and more expensive; a decent Wizard 1h weapon costs several hundred millions (I've been watching the market for weeks now). I suspect that in a few weeks you won't get BiS set/legs for less than a billion, considering how the gold->money inflation is going at the moment.

However, I kind of disagree about the Hellfire Ring. Casual players even benefit from a badly rolled Hellfire Ring, which might make you lose a few 2-5k dps - but if you're stuck at around 50k or 80k dps, I'd rather go with the 35% exp which is a huge boost and will allow you to quickly gain a higher paragon level and subsequently better loot.

If you're a high-end player with insane gear, you can craft multiple rings per week. I know some of these players who have 250k+ dps and/or are farming at least MP8. They are not wearing the ring, because they need awesome stats. Try to get a Hellfire Ring that can replace a BiS legendary/set: it's almost as difficult to get as trifecta gloves. In the end, the casual players who need 1-2 weeks for the Hellfire Ring will wear it; the high-end players most likely won't. Plus, in the end, some of these players might try to get as many Hellfire materials as possible which slows down leveling; if you're getting 5 buffs, killing the key warden and starting a new game it's more inefficient in terms of experience and legendary farming than getting 5 buffs and killing as many elite packs as possible.

I have a question about gearing. Would you recomend 1h + offhand over 1.3k+ dps skorn with best possible stats ( like 200% crit dmg, 320 int and LS) ? I find one handers to be extremely expensive ( can buy pretty awesome offhand for 30m though).

Offhands aren't the expensive parts - the mainhand is the problem.

For best possible Skorn you're missing a socket, but still: unless you've access to an awesome 1h, I'd definitely stick with Skorn. I've got a pretty nice Triumverate (self-found, so some bias towards using it over a 2h), but finding a MH with decent stats and DPS is almost impossible.

for the conspiracy theorist ,6 hours played y-day mp3 no set no legendary

    MF? 100? :S

150-200 with MP/NV. And same here - about 6 hours, nothing so far.

Like I said earlier: if you have better gear and higher paragon level, you have a completely different picture and find lots of legs/sets - just do the math. My friends who are ~20 paragon levels higher also found a lot since the patch. But also, RNG is RNG; I'm having bad luck, they're on a lucky streak.

It's so ridiculous when people with paragon 70+, perfect gear, capped MF, and infinite time complain about "too many legendaries". You got this gear, MF, and paragon level in order to get all these drops in the first place. Please note that the "doubled" drop rate for casual players means: they will get 2 instead of 1 legendary per week. With casual I mean 50k dps, 100-150 MF incl. 5NV, and MP1-3. If you're farming MP8 with 300k dps and 600MF, you're not only 5 times faster in killing mobs, you also have an about 4 times higher chance of drops. In 10 hours of daily playing you'll find about 20 times more legendaries than a casual player who has 10 hours playtime per week.

Please remember this when you "complain" about having found 20 legendaries and grant the casuals their 1-2 drops per week. Thanks.

Also, the increase in legendaries in the AH is absolutely normal - everyone's farming like crazy now for the Hellfire Ring; lots of people are returning to the game who previously stopped playing because they lost interest. It's just obvious that the AH will be flooded, but it will go back to normal in a few days/weeks.

There will always be a "timeout" - you need 5NV for the organs to drop, which means no fight can last longer than 30 minutes anyways.

Edit: Okay, I read it in the other thread. Well, these are the breakthrough points for a WW build; if you're playing something different, these breakpoints are different as well, of course.
